The two six (RP)
(( Assuming the field comes down))
Beofre Brian could really do too much about the new "doorway", it had disappeared and all that stood between him and the inside was air and opportunity. A little wary at first, he went inside in time to see his uncle coming down the stairs.
"Well good morning there sir. I turst you had a nice, safe night, considering our new shielded doors. I guess we might wanna tell the workers that things are good to go now. "
A phone call once again interrupted him. Sometimes he just wanted to throw that damed thing, "Hello... yea... you're kidding...," a look of annoynace came over Brian, "yea, well I guess you did the right thing... yea be right there... bye"
Brian shook his head placing the phone back on his hip wondering how they were ever going to get a long without him back at HQ, "Hmm, seems that I am needed for a special exercise at my other job. That's about all I can say now. I have some paperwork about Ion. Nothing bad right now, but just something to be very aware of. I'll be gone for a couple days, but will contact you as soon as I get first chance. Sorry about this."
He handed Mystic the manilla folder and after a quick hug, turned to head back to the station.
((I'll be out for 3 days. Be back Friday afternoon. Be on a boat with the navy... pray for me, haha))
((be safe, Ninjin.))
Newton slowly woke up. The noises from downstairs were getting louder. He groaned, glanced at the clock, and rolled himself out of bed. He grabbed his towel, wandered to the showers, and took a nice, warm shower. It woke him up further.
By the time he had combed out his long green hair, pulled it back into a ponytail, dressed, made some toast, popped a Mountain Dew, and drifted downstairs, workmen were scurrying all over the place, putting in cables, internet lines, security systems, and so forth.
In the midst of the chaos, he found Mystic Inferno. So, boss, whatre we up to today? Newton asked as he wandered to the big immovable desk, opened a drawer, and pulled out a box of donuts. He opened them, set the box on the higher part of the desk so Mystic could grab one if he wanted.
Ion appeared from the basement just as Brian walked back out of the door. Seeing Mystic and Newt by the main desk he approached rather sheepishly.
"Sorry about the mix up boss. I was just trying to help out. "
Reaching down to his belt he withdrew a small device that looked something like a spring powered hypodermic.
"All I need is a small tissure sample from everybody and I can key everybodies genetic code into the field generator. After I do that everybody will be able to pass through at will. It won't impede movement at all. Anything you are carrying or wearing will pass through also. You won't feel a thing and it won't damage any object you bring through either."
Ion paused briefly and looked around. When he next spoke his voice had a hopeful tone.
"I don't see Sting. Maybe he did not even try to get back in after I turned the field on."
"On a side note did you two see your boxes? The earpiece is the new comm unit I mentioned. The belt is an AG unit I designed for a friend of mine named SGT. Paine. If anybody wears shades I have something else you might be interested in. It is a modified version of the computer in my armor. It gives a heads up display in the lense with range, targeting priority information, and a bunch of other stuff. Also they link with each other so you can keep track of you teammates location, targets, injuries and things like that. You can also access the internet and if you have the correct code the LAN that I will be setting up here as well."
Newton pursed his lips as he listened to the young man rattle off a long list of upgrades. Newton glanced at Inferno. "We've gone from the 1960's to the 2010's in a matter of hours, boss. Im not thrilled about my genetic code being recorded by anyone. Besides, its already recorded on our superhero card, isnt it? Can your machine download that information?
It must be nice to be independently wealthy, too, he said, nabbing another donut. You havent seen Sting, eh? Ill take a peek around for him. Newton headed toward the door.
((Where's the other 30 pages??????????))
[censored]?
Where did our thread go?
Who do we tell???
((Whoa! Our thread was eaten!!! Anyone PM'd a moderator yet? If not we need to do so right away!!! Strange things are afoot at the 2-6))

((Well, this is what Cuppajo said. She said it was probably a post removed due to violation of the rules, though I really can't imagine what rule would be violated in such a tame thread. She also said that if a post is removed, that all posts after it are removed as well, unless they were in response to a post before the offending post. So... in the future we shouldn't respond to the posts we're actually responding to, but to the original post. I put in a 24 hr service email yesterday, but won't be home to check it until tonight. SOOOOO, hang tight, we'll see what the official word is. And no matter what happens, this is THEIR webspace. We're not even paying rent, so please no griping about them losing or deleting or it not being fair. It's just a story, and we can always just pick up where we left off. Thank you for your patience, I'll post tonight with what they tell me or if they return things to normal, then we can keep going. Personally, I'm inclined to think it's a mistake, because I can't see a moderator going back through a months worth of posts to find something that violates the rules, and then deleting the post, causing the loss of thirty pages when they could just edit the post and leave a note saying "don't swear" or whatever it was that violated the rules.))
If it is at all possible can the person guilty of breaking the rules get a small PM about what they did wrong?
Because If it is me, I dont know what went wrong, and I'd rather not do it again.
((well, thanks to cuppajo, we now know what happened. It turns out that writing all your words together without spaces, as Dan43 did to create the illusion of his character speaking quickly without pauses, breaks the tables and mods don't like that. So they deleted the post, which took out 30 pages of the story.
Please PM me with your choice of what you'd like to do with the thread from this point forward.))

[/ QUOTE ]I am sorry that my attempt at RP in a RP forum caused 30 some pages of everybodies work to be deleted.
With that said I think that is a pretty crummy excuse for deleting the 30some pages of this thread. I realize that this webspace belongs to NCSoft. I realize that we do not pay anything....wait actually we do. This space is included in the pricing structure that we pay to play CoH. If something as small as not using proper grammar, punctuation etc. in an attempt to RP on a RP forum can get all the work we put into it deleted I do not think I will be contributing anymore. If they chose to not restore our 30pages then I will no longer be posting in the RP forum.
Thanks for all the fun. I will see yall if our 30 pages are replaced. Otherwise it was nice to know you.
Personally I see this being the fault of the Admin.
If the post was found violating of some rules, it is up to the admin to contact the Owner of the post to get them to change it, or edit the post to fix it.
Just flat out deleting the post doesn't fix the issue, because this is the result.
Dan, I dont hold you responsible for this because; yes, you were roleplaying.
while the lack of spaces made it hard to read. It also gave the idea that your character was speaking so fast that his words were running together.
As for what we are gonna do now, I'm all for trying to continue. Maybe posting an outline of what was nuked.
Alright, I'll try to do an outline tonight and post it tomorrow.
As far as blaming someone, that's pointless. Let's just move forward, shall we?

[/ QUOTE ]I really did not expect anybody to try and read the stuff that was all run togeather. I wanted to give the impression that Ion was off on another tangent and for people to just kind of think/say "There he goes again.", I tried to put any actual text that needed to be read in before he went off.
I've read Dragonlance. The gnomes in dragon lance talk the same way, so I've picked up the paitents to read sentences that have run together.

[/ QUOTE ]I'm busted. How old were you when you read it the first time. I think I was 18-19 when I read it. The first book of the second trilogy had just come out when I started the first trilogy.
Maybe 15-16 dont remember exactly.
My favorite races were Kender, Gnomes, and Gully Dwarves.
Now i feel old. I am pretty sure i was in the navy when i read them the first time. But not sure, could have been the second time.

folks, i contacted cuppa jo. She said she would send me a text file with our posts in it. If you want, I can repost the story with cunningly placed hyphens for the long Ion speeches. That should solve the problems.
Or we can create a new page called 'The Two-Six Missing Pages' Add a link in the midst of the Two-Six posting, and it will take the reader to the missing pages, then at the end of those pages, have another link to the Two-Six page where we are now.
The timeliness of the first is an issue, and with Averick's summary, we might want to do the second option. Let me know what you think.
I am glad others are working this problem out. But sounds good to me.

((Well here it is. Weve suffered a slight setback, on the order of 30 out of 50 some pages being deleted due to a number of posts that contained strings of letters without spaces that the mods took issue with. Ive been asked to summarize where we are and why were here. This is from memory, and Im not certain Ill remember the spelling of the names of the new members. So
here it goes.))
After things got hammered out between Sting and Ion, the crew began setting their sights on Mr. Rome. They got a tip that he would be at an apartment building with limited security and pounced. Newton, Poison Sting, Ion and Mystic engaged some bodyguard types and one superpowered tanker named Nerdy in a messy brawl that left Newton shot in the leg, Mystic ruffled and Sting and Ion unscathed. Newton and Rome were alone in the Two Six, well, not entirely alone. Intro a cat woman with a big gun, who knows how to use it.
Brian shows late to the arrest attempt, helping Sting get out before murdering the entire floors worth of people. Coolant is still trapped in his chamber at this time.
After Mystic quietly interrogates Mr Rome, Newton and Sting take turns trying to scare him into telling them more. Then the outcasts attack Brian at a Tram and Mystic flies off to investigate. Thats when Kegen, a high tech futurized healer steps in and helps Brian. Mystic offers to keep Kegen safe from those who would likely hurt her for helping out the Two Six members, but really only gets her deep in trouble.
Coolant gets released from his chamber by BIT technicians who promptly scuttle off. Coolant looks different.
The Tsoo attack, leaving a small bauble in the basement that starts a spell that pushes the entire building into the land of the dead, but not before Abrams shows up, dropping his ruck and announcing that hes been assigned here.
The entire Two Six goes dark, Ion tries to irradiate Rome into telling him more, but wont ask any specific questions, so he gets no answers and later apologizes for trying to kill a prisoner. Rome finally gets fed up and starts insulting Sting when he presses him again.
Mystic pulls out the book that he draws his powers from and does research but leaves the book on the desk, where Brian later comes in and touches it. Now Brians ancestral blood is being awakened in him and hes going through a transformation of his powerset.
The members search the Two Six for the physical component that designates the vessel traveling to the land of the dead, Brian finds it, and now they must go outside, where zombies and spirits a plenty are already gathering to feed off of the living, and find a marker that designates WHERE the Two Six was supposed to go.
We left off as the whole group was standing in the lobby, staring at the force screen, waiting for Ion to turn it off so they could lay waste to the zombies.
((PM me with corrections please))
"Well if we have to go out, might as well destroy as little of our furniture as possible." Abrahms grabs a desk and starts pulling out the doorway. "Newton, you ready for some major bubbling" he says with a half smile as he looks out at the multiudes, of undead.

[[With Coolant's permission]]
Mystic grumbled as he carried the bin to the top of the stairs, tray under his arm. He wandered over to Coolant's chamber to see that he was still in it. He checked the time and noted that the large man still had four hours before he required waking.
It was time to greet the public, which required a shower and dressing up like a powerful keeper of arcane secrets. Once showered and changed, he returned downstairs to see if Ion had gotten the force field down.
