OOC: A Cape Annoyance...
I think they should switch Super Group creation and Capes around. At 10th level, your hero has the awesome responsibility to create a group of like minded heroes, but has to wait 10 more levels to get a cape!? I know, flames will be fanned, but really....capes are not that big of a deal.
Cape Mission at 10th level.
Super Group Registration at 20th level.
Kelp looks just plain awful without his cape... It's something I've noticed about a lot of the scrawnier characters. They just seem to need a cape to make them look like they can take a beating. And I've no clue why...
Most of the costumes I make, regardless of if I mean for them to or not, look better with a cape. It's just how my hero designs work. Capes are always part of them in my head...

Greetings my fellow RPers! I have an annoyance that is rather small but that I need to get off my chest before it drives me insane, and I just want to see if anyone else feels the same way.
Does anyone else have a character who just isn't complete without a cape? You know what I mean, you make a character, you get a good costume, you have their back ground origin all worked out and you're about to head into the tutorial and you stop and think "MAN! That really would look even better if it had a good cape with it..."
I currently have three characters that are primarily just RP characters, It's not that important for me to level them up, they're more for storylines and the like, but darn it all here I am trying to level up three different characters to 20 all just because their costumes need capes in order to be complete.
So I guess my question is, does anyone else find it extremely annoying to have to get all the way up to 20 before you get a cape? Seems to me the new costume rewards is plenty at level 20 and they could give you a cape at 15 since, honestly, a new title isn't much of a reward...

Um.. yeah, I disagree. Level 20 isn't that hard to attain first of all.
Secondly, while I understand that this is a massively multiplayer online ROLE PLAYING game, the vast majority of people here aren't roleplaying. They're actually focusing on the gaming aspect. This is why the devs add content to make the GAMING more enjoyable. Frankly, the only thing I've ever seen them add that could be taken as a push toward roleplaying is the rave club they added for people to meet and go AFK, which of course was immediately slapped in the face by the AFK patch that logs you out. That location is ALSO remarkably dangerous to reach until you're several levels higher, the geniuses in development didn't like people using the entrance near the yellow line in Steel Canyon to make it to Talos faster (since that would of course speed things along for us, and they want us to waste lots and lots of time running from mission, contact, hospital, etc).. but I digress.. the devs don't cater to roleplaying, they cater to gaming. It's just never gonna happen.
i agree but I think that the first extra costume should be sooner. in fact i think everyone should start with 2 costumes
one for thier "secret identity" also would be cool to be able to have a secret identity that you can toggle on and off as well.
people would need to know your real id to PM of course youd just look like the secret id........maybe for city of villians
Capes = more processing power to render.
therefore, if you limit it to lvl 20 chars, you have less capes to render. All those people constantly creating characters, leveling to 19 or below or not taking the cape mission don't have to have capes rendered.
I have 1, count them, 1 character with a cape, so it isn't that personal to me. Still, I see no reason to put capes out there for everyone. If it's important to you, go get the levels.
I agree, capes are not hard to get, but I like the Secret Identity slot... maybe one slot have nearly all super-hero costume options and the other all civilian.
