lol....was thinkin that very thing. multiple "_____ a day" threads....sketching, inking and coloring. when one gets finished the next in line copies and gets ta work and so on.....~
-
very much agreed....and imo....the coloring it really setting your stuff apart and giving them character. basically, keep up the great work derek, its really paying off!
~
-
frak.....and did you all see the price for that "quick" commission?
thinkin I need to add him to the list....~ -
big congrats on the new tablet Serengeti! hope it brings lots of enjoyment for ya.
~
-
nice work spino! perhaps I should send ya links of some sketches too....heh~
-
well done! very vibrant colors...me likey, me likey a lot!.
critiquewise? caps may need to be a bit more 'blue' than aqua...minor but the only real think that jumped out at me.~ -
hehe
thats great pep!
...and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.~
-
...always did enjoy the elfquest series. good to see it hasnt been forgotten.
~
-
oooo...I like this one derek...really groovin on how ya did his eyes.
~
-
oh...just thought of another good lil tip...well I think its a good one.
when doing necks....for guys make them the same width as the head or slightly slimmer. gals are slimmer than the head but they are a balancing act on trying not to make them tooo slim. the exception being if you are going for a more animated look versus realism....then its all a crap shoot.~ -
no worries.
practice is a good thing, lord knows I need it...as far as you lil project here...no harm in reduing...I do it all the time. I am looking forward to seeing updates

the original sketch he did in his arty notebook and scanned in. the coloring was done in digi land. I have the precolored version in my art folder if you want to see it. not a big difference from what you see here....other than the coloring...heh
came out looking very much like an top notch animated cell (imo)
either way...one of my best and favorite pieces...~

ha! very cool! thanks a bunch! very much appreciated~

ermmm...what am I supposed to be laughing at? looks fine to me.
on the critiwise side: the whole head is a little to round. by making it a tad more oval vs round will solve most of your problems. in regards to the ears...well, on human ears I usually go from the eye down to the mouth...elves just get the top part elongated and pointed similar to how you have em. also...when you ovalize(?) the head you'll find the eyes will come closer the the edges (at least mine do...shrug)
either way...nothing to laugh at here...and I would say its good stuff squirrel...keep up the fine work~

Have a great Christmas, Alex...you definately deserve it.

...actually working on a lil gifty-something for Alex at the moment. possibly have a lil something to post this weekend depending on famdamily "events".
for an official word on me taking requests...opening a wue more than likely will never happen but I may being doing more of characters that I like or inspire me in some way. although most of the stuff I do is very basic (posing-wise)...although do appreciate the interest~ -

dont forget he does commissions too...and then there is his characters...and then the odd sketch that floats through. oh and he had the page a day thing too....
in short...alex is either "da man" or just plum crazy and hopped up on sugar....you make the call
