I'm trying <;_;>

I didn't even finish it, because its not really worth finishing >.<;

But how is this as an attempt at a better render? >.<; I'm trying really hard but it feels like a kid's drawing <_ _>; I wouldn't post it out here like this but I need comments badly enough.

Just try not to laugh too hard <;_;> all I ask.

I think the jaw and cheeks are a little funky, but that's about it. You're really good, Squirrel!

Ditto what Derek said and you might try lowering the ears a little, the bottom of my ear lies between my nose and my mouth, I think that would help. I don't think you're a bad artist though, I love your avatar and your tarot card is great!

Derek's right - the cheeks are waaay too.. bony, I guess. Skinny is one thing but that kinda looks like the air is being sucked from his head and his mouth is getting smaller o.o

Otherwise, I think it's good. I still love the eyes that you do.

Don't try too hard. Just take it easy and let it come at it's own pace. If you try and force it you could end up burning yourself out. Relax and enjoy the ride. Keep drawing, and little by little you will pick up new little tricks and techniques that will help you develop your art style. You can try new things, but don't force them into your current style. Other than that, I agree with everyone else who says that you have a lot of potential. Keep at it!

ermmm...what am I supposed to be laughing at? looks fine to me.

on the critiwise side: the whole head is a little to round. by making it a tad more oval vs round will solve most of your problems. in regards to the ears...well, on human ears I usually go from the eye down to the mouth...elves just get the top part elongated and pointed similar to how you have em. also...when you ovalize(?) the head you'll find the eyes will come closer the the edges (at least mine do...shrug)

either way...nothing to laugh at here...and I would say its good stuff squirrel...keep up the fine work ~

Thanks <~.~> much more to do. Was really hoping this would come out better, but I admit, this is a first attempt to do something of this nature <-.->; More shall come! Hopefully better! <T.T>

(I'd finish this, but it was comming out so blah I just didn't have the heart to do it >&lt

oh...just thought of another good lil tip...well I think its a good one.

when doing necks....for guys make them the same width as the head or slightly slimmer. gals are slimmer than the head but they are a balancing act on trying not to make them tooo slim. the exception being if you are going for a more animated look versus realism....then its all a crap shoot.~

I agree with what everyone's said, keep it up. Each portion of the face is pretty good, the cheeks are too hard, but with a little softening that can change a lot. T'aint nothing to laugh at - it's a great start.

There's no reason to laugh, you have the proportions a little wrong but you seem to already know the shadows quite well.

Work and work and work, you're definitely on something.

Try to focus on one thing at a time. Ill try to help.

The head is very proportional. The best thing I have found to use as a base are the eyes. So practice on your eyes. From there, realize that the width of your head(when looking straight at the "camera") is 5 eyes wide. The head is 20 eye heights high, from the chin to the very tip top of the back of the hair. The distance from the eyes to thh nose, is the same distance from nose to chin. Chin to Eyes, is Eyes to top of head. Nose to Lips is Lips to Chin.

Just try to work on each of those one at a time and it might comeout abit better. Try to stay away from shading until you've got the basic lines down first.
