Oh, I just realized that the deadline in Naz's contest is Saturday the 4th, not tomorrow.
So, I'll have plenty of time. Now the problem is what do I submit? -
[ QUOTE ]
Up until now, the only time I've heard the term "rat" used to describe someone who reports bad behavior is over-the-top criminal stereotypes in movies. So my advice to you is... leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

BWAHAHAHAHA!
Thanks for the laugh! -
Here's someone I already showed-off in the Patriotic costume thread. I need to get a lighter pic and prolly give him tuxedo sleeves to show off some embroidery perhaps.
Le Rapier
I'd enter him in the contest, but don't think I'll be able to get to the game and modify it and get screenies before the deadline. But, I'm glad I get to show him off again in M_B's thread. -
[ QUOTE ]
Posted it in the big "Show off your costume" thread but I have a hero based off of the notion that Ponce de Leon located the Fountain of Youth and became a DB/Regen scrapper.
Pity there's no way to even come close to faking a conquistador helm. Believe me, I tried.
[/ QUOTE ]
Whoa, great use of the armor chest pieces as a Conquistador. Great idea. I might just have to steal it now.
As for the helmet, that's a shame that the Roman or Valkyrie pieces won't work.
Oh and you should totally enter this in Nazghul's costume contest.

I'm one of the few the actually prefers playing redside, and it's true that the early levels are awful.
CoH at least has more options, depending on origin, or if you're tired of that, you can do some sewer runs.
Snakes and Infected? Bleh.
[/ QUOTE ]
No kidding. Especially snakes. Wayy too many snakes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Damned snakes are the reason why the first thing I do when leveling up a lowbie on Mercy is to broadcast LFT. Usually with a specific reference to how nobody likes hunting snakes alone.
I get plenty of responses for teaming. Looks like we're not alone in this regard. -
Well, I did use the hat for my Psi-Lieutenant Caballo.
Unless you're looking for a super-hero with a police theme? Kinda like Blue Steel? I've seen some alts with good police theme costumes based on riot-gear, they usually work well.
I'm thinking a lot of blues, maybe use combat boots or the military vest. Those should work.
Of course, having the PPD chest logo helps, too. -
Isn't there a full mask detail that has these little crown like things? They don't look great and I don't think they work with hair.

That's the way it should be. I'm sick of making "speedsters" without speed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Amen.
I'm only a six month vet and I rankled at the thought of having to level-up my speedster, Argonaut Lambda to get SuperSpeed.
I was fortunate enough to get invited to an AE Boss farm and got Lambda up to a sufficient level for SuperSpeed in a tolerable amount of time.
I've made dozens of alts, the highest being a Level 38-ish Scrapper. A handful at high 20s, a few at low 20s and everyone else at just about Level 10. I've done the lowbie content in CoV dozens of times and I've done the Midnighter arc in Steel Canyon about three times in the last week.
I'm not sure how I feel about the grind. I'll confess to being bored at times, but if that's the case, I've got other alts I can play. Though this does mean that the majority of my stable stalls out at around Level 10.
Just last night I ran the Frostfire arc, which I haven't done in several months now. It was actually kinda refreshing.
That being said, as a six month vet, I don't think I can really complain too much about repeating content, though I've had to already due to how many alts I have. -

Two of mine:
Jessica Raleigh
Tanya Litvyak
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, those look great! At first I was really impressed with Jessica Raleigh, since I've had a lot of difficulty trying to get a UK look on one of my alts. But, then when I saw Tanya...hooboy. Both are awesome. -
Don't know about Douglas Shuler. Don't even know much about art.
But, I know what I like. I like your work so far and am really enjoying this thread. Thank you for sharing it. -
Good point, I do try to focus on content with my mains, but for my rarely played alts, I rather the convenience of the AE building.
But, can you clarify the second thing...about the mobs and the aura? I've earned an aura, which required me to kill some number of specific baddies. But, that was Icon, not an enhancement store. -
I've played with some really good tanks who will actually go out to the next mob when it's clear that the rest of the team can handle the current mob. Keeps the flow of combat very smooth.
I've got a couple of tanks myself, but haven't perfected the art of tanking. Often someone else on the team takes up tanking duties with me, usually another tanker or maybe a scrapper. -
I've recently started buying enhancements with MA tickets. Even with the new cap, tickets are pretty easy to earn. And redeeming them for enhancements is much easier than traveling to the zone with exactly the right store for your character.
Also, I get to save up my INF for the common IOs I plan on getting around Lvl 35. -

My new blaster, the Riveter.

A nice, quirky and unique approach to the theme. Not at all surprising from the one known as SusieBot.
(I'm a big fan of your VirtueVerse pages) -
Let me start off by saying I'm not advocating that we get additional slots per server nor do I think it's a necessary change.
But, it is something I'd like. I've got 36 alts on Virtue and 60 other alts spread across five other servers. I'd love for all of my guys to be on the same server, since Virtue is my home.
I'd even pay for the extra slots, though I'm not willing to open extra accounts. It's the recurring monthly charge that would be too much.
It'd be nice, it's not necessary, though. -

re-read my ORIGINAL post in this thread.

My apologies, ours were crossposts and I did not see your response to Ad_Astra until just now.
It is too bad that you all did not kick them from the SG earlier. But, as you say, lesson learned.
[ QUOTE ]
on 2nd thought, dont bother. This is such an idiotic waste of my time trying to explain things to people that clearly dont get what it is im trying to say. People have managed to twist words, add words, leave words out, put their own words in and just take it to all kinds of stupid places.
[/ QUOTE ]
Believe me, I know precisely how you feel. -
Ad_Astra has asked the one question that has been asked repeatedly and repeatedly ignored. Simply, why did the SG allow this bad behavior to continue, especially since both War_Admiral and Cherry_2000 described said behavior in very negative terms.
Would such behavior have been acceptable if the two were actually females?
I'm inclined to believe the answer is "yes", since it was allowed to continue. And clearly the behavior wasn't so hated, since the two were invited to Vent.
Nope, the behavior "became" bad only when it became clear to War_Admiral and Cherry_2000 that the two players were likely male.
As that's the case, the problem is with those two players and their interactions with your SG and has nothing whatsoever to with RP. -
Thanks for all the tips, you've all been great.
I love how this community is so helpful to us newbies. -
Wow, quick answers. Ahh, so it's not a question of slotting, since you can't slot inherent powers.
It's a question of being able to use your primaries frequently and successfully enough to get Domination up, right?
Any tips on how that is best done? -
Guessing from the name "perma dom", I'm assuming it's making some power permanent. Just not sure which one..."Domination" or "Total Domination"? And is it like perma hasten, where you slot enough recharges and set it to auto-fire so it can go off continuously?
I tried searching, though my search fu with this forum is hella weak. I tried reading some of the Mind/Psy Dom Guides but can't find details.
Any help would be appreciated. -

Here's the latest team shot for The Minute Men - That's /my-NYOOT/, as in tiny. The SG is made up of all patriotic heroes of minimum height, based on the Liberty server.
[/ QUOTE ]
That is just awesome. I'm loving the Minute Men. -
Forgive the flood, but I forget about some of my other less-played alts, these are the Axis United, my WWII themed heroes:
Here is Banzai Hiro
From Free France, I give you Le Rapier
And the good ol' U.S. of A, here's Thundercloud Eagle -
If you'll take villains, I give you The Red Knockoff, evil counterfeiter from Red China!
-
Here's Argonaut Alpha. Leader of the Stratos Argonautes, heroes of Greece.
Of course, I'd be fine if you decided to use any of the Argonautes. They are all on the same page as Alpha. -
Fourteen pages and all over nothing.
Like others, I assumed that War_Admiral was saying that these two people were playing the part of girls with their characters. However, it's since been made clear that these two pretended to be girls outside of their characters.
That whole bit about why they couldn't be on Vent is your clue. In-character roleplaying has no reason to be discussing the use of Vent. Now I wonder if these two or anyone in the SG every RP'd in-character. I mean, there would be obvious cues such as referring to canon or Paragon City as if it were real. I'm starting to get the impression that this never happened.
Given that, I can see why War_Admiral and his SG had a problem with these two. Though, their conflation of what these two did and what RP actually is, is regrettable since it spawned a multi-page argument over nothing.
I'm a 40-year old man, happily married with children. When I play as a teenage female Mongolian horse archer displaced through time by an evil sorcerer, I'm role playing. If I were to act as a 21-year old male college student living at home and playing CoH, then I'm not role playing.
As had been said by several others already, what War_Admiral and his SG mate are complaining about is not RP'ng, within the context of this game and the question in the OP. It's a shame that this argument has confused the issue, though it's pretty clear to me now.
