Shakeup, how did the team do tonight?

Well Max, I think the team performed well tonight. You were right when you warned me about Innocence. I'll definitely keep an eye on her. Chip did quite well for someone that was close to falling over the edge in so many ways. As for the rest, they performed well. Aw hell Max, they all did. Each of them has different personalities and skills, and each of them aren't quite sure what they got themselves into.

You gonna be ok son leading this team? Are they gonna be able to do what needs doing?

To be honest Max, I'm not sure I know what I got myself into and I've been with you for three years. It's gonna get dirty, I know it will. That's when we'll be able to separate everyone. When it comes time, when we go to the Rogue Islands, are they going to be able to "finish" the job. Only time will tell.

First Ward is 20-29 then?

I've been training for this for what seems like an eternity. I've seen notes on the people Max was going to recruit for his new team. New as in below the radar fix all problems kind of team. For the record, Max can be an ***. He's been at this too long and thinks he knows it all. One thing I do know is that if it wasn't for him, maybe another neighbourhood would have been destroyed because I couldn't control my powers. Because of him, my family would be ruined. I owe him, but he doesn't own me. He asked me to lead this team............man, this will be a challenge. But how could I say no. I knew what I was getting into when he came to my parents house and they recognized him. Seems my Grandfather, and my father both knew Max. They both knew this day was coming, but nobody ever thought to tell me about it. They want me to be a hero. They want me to be a vigilante. They want me to be a cleaner. They want it all. I'll give it to them, but I'll do it my way. I'll do what's best for the team. We may be mutants, but we will maintain our humanity.

Galaxy City is where it all begins. I'm not sure where it will end, but at least it won't end up in a ruined neighbourhood in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. I could never live with myself if I lost control of my powers again.

This is gonna be one hell of a ride.

Hi Square_Woot, Chip Chocolate might be a bit too light for this group. Not that this group is going to be dark or anything like that, but given the premise, the team will be more gritty.

Part of the problem going forward is that they want to focus on new. But sometimes changing the old is something new. Like Faultline. The Hollows. I always felt that contacts should be updated. Mind you, there are some good arcs there, just not many. They give merits, and it's different than radios, hero tips and so on. One thing they need to do, is make the missions in the same zone like the signature arc, or at least keep the travel to a minimum. Also, the defeat X-number of enemies, 1 or 2 max, if that.

Have people created themed SG's(ie Justice League, Justice Society, Avengers, Teen Titans, etc, etc) on Exhalted, and if so, what type are they?

You bring up a good point Battledog. All of the members on this team were recruited by Max. Max has a lot of connections, being over 200 years old, and also having worked in black ops for many governments during the Cold War. He has kept in touch, or rather, kept an "eye" on the other operatives that were mutants and has been tracking their families and keeping in touch. Max is a hero, although some of his methods are not heroic. So the Second Class fits in perfectly.

Hey Square_Woot. Last time we had no restrictions, and everyone played what they wanted. So, what I am saying, is it's up to you. We'll make it work.

Here is the proposal. I like this idea. Any thoughts from the rest of you.


What if, in gathering a second class of mutants, Max's goal was to develop a proactive strike force capable of handling some of the dirtier jobs the first class wasn't suited for?

In other words, I'd like to propose that at level 20 we begin to work towards the Vigilante alignment. That way we could still run hero content, but occasionally go to the Rogue Islands and hit groups like Arachnos, the Family, the Skyraiders, etc. where they live, instead of waiting for them to hatch a plot in Paragon City.

We will all know each other since we were recruited into the Gold Corporation to go into the field at some point. The point has arrived with the chaos in Galaxy City. Something everyone should keep in mind is that we can take the first session or two to flesh out relationships. When you were recruited, all of you knew you would be a covert black ops type of team. So think of the Second Class as an X-Force, although we won't be eliminating anyone. Just transporting them to secure facilities and such.

Ok team, was on the road, just got home tonight and was finally able to get back into the forums. I haven't heard from 1 person yet regarding AT. I have a concept for the team. Will be posting it shortly. In terms of concept, why a second class I mean.

In anticipation of Freedom, and all the new goodness along with it, the Gold Corporation is recruiting for it's Second Class. We are a team of mutants, that is the only requirement for the team. We RP in game with some OOC as well. Why Second Class you might ask, well, we all hit 50 with our mains in the group, and for us, it's about the adventure to 50, and not so much the endgame. We do all still have our 50's, but we are looking for the next Class of mutants out of the Gold Corporation.

We decided to wait until Freedom because then all the AT's will be available to choose from. We will begin in Galaxy City, and go from there, so we would all start from Level 1.

I am still working on the premise for the Second Class, however, Maximilian Gold, the leader of the Gold Corporation has always been on the lookout for new recruits and this will form the basis for the Second Class, to step in while the original team is embroiled with the Rikti, Praetorians, and whatever else threatens the City.

My apologies. I was reading a post from the PAX, and essentially one of the points of the large thread was that FF needs to be updated because of the late game changes and what FF does. In reading in that thread, people seemed to think that FF needed to get upgraded, and that the Devs stance was no updating old powers, focusing on new. Now, I don't think it had to do with animations, it was balance and tweaking the power itself.

Here is my question, why no to upgrading older powers? Does that mean as the game ages, they will just let them fall to the wayside as they create new powers with new art, and mechanics.

One I have seen mentioned is FF. I have also see many mentions of the Devs saying we are not looking back, we are looking forward. Like really? That is part of the whole suite of powers offered in COH, and not all people will use the new powers and let the old ones wither and die.

I realize resourcing is an issue, but one power revamp every 3 issues, is that really that difficult? Don't get me wrong, this can be rationalized many different ways, but at the end of it all, it doesn't make sense.

I would love to see an official Dev stance on this.
