Oh No not only did caem figure out how to level shift but he beat me to the punch...most distressing.
-
You know what henri, take you time, if you can't come back till june to post a february art jam then that's ok with me. Though, it'll be dark cause someone else will have my flashlight. Or it might not cause you know the sun will be up for more than a few hours everyday.
Idea of the day; china town, or tsoo town, I dunno, whatever. Take whatever you want from it. You know how things run when I'm in charge. -
still like 30shards away but gratz
-
that's some pretty cool arts you got there.
-
I almost feel as though that is a uh... dramatic take on BAB's and feral kat. Exciting piece.
-
Some idea's:
Snow, put some snow on atlas, or mercy island. But since i spent the whole day (no joke started at 8:15am finished at 2:30) shoveling, if you snow a zone you will be responsible for shoveling it!
Make it rain, show me a gloomy day in the hive, or in PI. (the shift key, it hurts to stretch my pinky to nab it)
Polish, Take KR or galaxy and give it the GR treatment. Give them a level of polish that you see in praetoria? Does it mean glass facades and gold? not necessarily, that's up to you.
Add an event, depict an event in art or in prose that takes the zone to a new level. Think of the jack and eo or mothership raid. Something that will bring people back time and time again.
shovelling is inaccurate, it was chopping, ice, lots and lots of ice. They should nerf all powers cause ice is clearly the most powerful thing in existence. I hurt so much <sobs, then sleeps> -
It's all for fun. If you want to do a whole zone then by all means. I guess my original idea was to take a "screenshot" that best represented what you would want for a new zone. But like I said it's all for fun so you can do as much or as little as you like. And interpret the above however you like.

And so the torch passes to me.
OW!
<throws torch down>
That thing is HOT!
<pulls out a flashlight>
Better!
Now some of you may have surmised, this month things are going to change just a little. Instead of doing character art I'd like you all to reimagine/reinvent/create a-new zone in the City of... universe. This will be quite a change of pace for many of you so I hope you enjoy it. -
It's a secret invasion.
*Wanders off to make her own top-knotted toon to avoid the cullings to come* -
didn't know about positron, never run it with less than 5-6 tbh. Still anything less than that is a duo. In which case maybe they ought to have some dynamic duo escapades that you could run with 2 player...maybe that's a bad idea...

If those NPC's aren't their for that purpose, how about adding it to the paper/scanner mission interface? I think that is a very fluid and immersive way to distribute data. I'm not saying you have to do the missions to find out the strike target, just that it is listed there. It's also a bit more interesting than typing /strike_target or having it blast through a chat channel.
You could also add a strike target flag to the teamfinder interface. Though the standard TF flag should suffice. -
Not a bad idea, scanner and paper missions could use more variety. It would be nice to see a little more variation in the missions that are there. prevent a bombing, or conversely blow something up. I think a good opportunity was missed in not including tip missions within the paper/scanner system.
A little bit of continuity would be nice too. Having all the missions be their own unique mission but helping to tell a little bit more of the story of paragon. There is a contact in steel canyon that deals in a mission that tracks the superadine trade through the paragon, why not take a paper/scanner mission and expand on that story a little bit. As you run a mission to rescue a hapless citizen, you come across a meeting between some suppliers and distributors. It doesn't have to be deep just little hints and tidbits that allude to a bigger picture, that you get from the actual contact.
The UI could use a hair bit more work, to add some imersion. The paper is actually a window, and could benefit by looking a bit more like a paper. Strike targets could be thrown in on that page as well. To inform people in a way that is fluid with the game. Not sure how the best way to change the scanner into something that would work more fluidly with the game. -
I have no beef with most of the TF's. I'm all for your shard changes. If they did all that I'd like to see some sort of supression system for geysers so they put you where they are supposed to without having to deal with the O.S..t moment of missing or boucing off a rock. Geysers are much faster than most travel powers, so long as you don't miss.
I'm drifting. If/when the TF's are revamped i have no issues with the changes you propose. I think requiring less than 4 players defeats the meaning of a "task force". But if you want to run it solo an alternate version could be thrown into the oro portal. As most content that has been removed/changed ends up there anyway. -
Through certain circles, that is usually refered to as a detached sleeve. The most popular character sporting one right now is hatsune miku. She's the "holographic" pop idol out of the land of the rising sun.
And i second the motion for detached sleeves in-game. -
well. Ice Minstral has that ice block top. I've got Meowce, down there in the character album. Not so much a made of ice character, but a ice user.

you've done it again ironik, you aren't spose to talk about the forum rules either. Between the two of us we'll get CH's thred closed LOL
That is pretty interesting CH, I don't think I would have the peace of mind to submit a script or writing sample to someone like that. -
I think we don't need to go as far as building new powers. Aside from swinging almost all of the travel powers you can think of are well represented by what we have. They just need to be reskinned and maybe reanimated. That is a tall order. Because of the travel powers unique nature. being interoperable with all other powersets changing those travel powers is a great deal of work potentially on the same scale of the original power customization. But for 4 powers, 6 if you count CJ and hover. Since you can take multiple travel powers you run into more issues like if you have a tunneling version of superspeed and a board version of fly, what is your result? Obviously that isn't a common predictament but it is something that must be taken into consideration. I think esablishing the basis for Travel power customization is a better use of time because it will then be quicker to make changes and updates to travel powers down the lines where as wholly new travel powers still have to be made compatible with all other powers, a much more difficult process. Perhaps the time balance isn't quite bad but would you rather respec into boards or just go to icon? I think that is really bottom line.

There are two sides to the coin. If you make GM spawns more eventish then you get a group of people that complain about not being able to run the missions they want to run because all the mobs have been replaced. I get that. I do not side with that opinion.
I became a monster lover the first time I "took down" the kraken. "Took down" because we had a level 40 there to handle most of it. Before auto scaling. It was such an impressive thing I would later return and say, he looks smaller. Similarly back in the good old days I remember encountering a Lost boss in woods and complaining about being eaten by a purple people eater. But that's beside the point.
Today I find GM's sitting about doing little more than anything. It would be nice to see them a bit more active or at the very least in character. Adamastor for instance, my second great GM encounter, hides in the dirt until an unwitting traveller walks to near. That is fine but afterwards he just stands. As travellers to DA are usually there and gone in a heart beat you never see him spawn quite like that, he simply stands around. The eo and Jack monsters are better examples of what could be. Those events are much more theatrical. Zone revamps would be required to make the current GMs more exciting and dramatic. Increaseing badges and merit rewards would also help. In the beginning when monster hunting was new and exciting they never stood long enough to suffer like this. Now it's a bit old hat and done. GMs are considerable foes having one spawn should make people want to take them down.
All that said we should be careful not to create another paladin. -
When passing through a security check point you think "just a quick pat below the waist and he'll let me through"

I believe the green column is greek or roman symbols. A is generally equated with the sun.
found a link. -
You didn't? To think I always held you in such high regard. >_>
The flying eagles piece is nice, the sunset lighting is quite impressive. The second plane though, there's something about it that jumps out at me. There's a wrong angle or something, perhaps I'm just too used to american jets. -
The only reason i thought they were included was for the purposes of pvp. you could check their bonuses and see if you would be fighting someone much superior or weaker as the case may be. In that regard it'd be a lot quicker to list base stats with their modifiers. It would accomplish the same task as the above.
Perhaps it would be better to simply ask for what purpose they were originally created and then use that to determine if they are still serving that purpose or should be updated. I'd prefer something a hair more legible myself but worry that the window would extend to the beyond bottom of the page in short order. Of course since I don't pvp anymore I don't check these anymore so any updates would be lost on me. -
I'm not averse to this but one of the primary reasons that it doesn't exist is the mapping issues we have with bases right now. Those mapping issues are one of the reasons that base raids haven't come back. All the wild stuff you can do with bases causes havok with the AI. If this were implemented it'd be on an extremely limited basis that i think would take a lot of the fun out of the end result.
If it happens, great, if not, I don't think we'd be losing a whole lot.
