Yeah I was on about Defiant, as thats where all my alts are, and btw when I say dead, I mean dead as in every time I check the zones there is absolutely zero people in them.
We have actually just checked all 4 zones, and there is not one person in them at 11pm.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh yeah? And how do you know there was not 1 person in them at 11pm?
[/ QUOTE ]
Did a search and there was nobody. Of course if you want to believe that there were about 150 people happily PVPing in there all on hidden then that is fine........Oh hang on, the nurse is coming with your meds -

This is really daft.
I just logged on and have 20 minutes of time on it. Plus as I am earning it, I am naturally AT the black market anyway.
The other annoyance is that you put it in your tray, then when it runs out it goes again. It would be handy if it could be made to grey out until you get the next recharge. -
Could the AH transporter given from the day jobs be based on number of uses or something more useful?
At the moment you pretty much log on, do a mission and it has already disappeared, making it useless.
At least with number of uses u would get some good from it, even if its only one tp. -
Forums arent really a good thing to go by anyway.
I know lots of people who just dont visit them, either because they dont like forums or due to posting and getting jumped on. -
I agree it was enjoyed, but it was dead and people didnt go in anymore.
That is why the devs are trying to change things. -
Sorry but I disagree, zonal PVPing was dead, I enjoy PVP and kept checking for people in zones, and aside from the usual suspects farming turrets in RV they were dead.
And I can say that the posts after me agreed with my side too.
Okay maybe I was a bit strong saying you were lying, maybe I should have just said being the worlds biggest drama queen. -

It is, but to say everything about PVp is now bad is lying as there are good changes there too, no matter what you class as good, but the doomsayers just wont admit it, they are so busy slagging it off.
[/ QUOTE ]
That all depends on what people class as good.
For me i have not found anything good about the changes and as such have hung up my pvp toons until more changes are done.
[/ QUOTE ]
But it makes no difference, lol it couldnt be worse than it was as nobody was PVPing anyway!!
Thats the whole point. You and others moaning about how you have hung up your pvp toons is aa mute point as you obviously werent before as PVP was dead before all of this. -

1) The game is not ugly, its better looking than WoW and WaR for example and even newer games that are still being made, Star Trek for example.
2) The game has quietened down but surely thats what the changes are for, to try to lure people back, though I must admit, I have seen nothing so far that will do this.
3) I have known people who have gone over to the "darkside (US) but have left anyway. I think the whole US thing is basically a red herring. If people need a break from the game then this is not going to renew vigor, and if they still love it, then there are enough people here to team with here, as people have said.
4) If you play on the EU servers, then US side you would be playing when their servers are probably even quieter than ours are anyway. -
Firstly I wasn't flame baiting, I was agreeing with GR and saying that the changes are not all bad as people like you would like everyone to believe.
True, you are entitled to your view, but then so are other people, and you keep saying there is nothing positive in there at all is unhelpful as well as being untrue.
Certain ATs will find the changes better, certain ones worse, and imbalances will no doubt be looked at.
To say a blanket "there is nothing good about them" is actually barefaced lying. -

I agree wholeheartedly with what GR is saying.
There is a lot of rubbish being spouted about the PVP changes, some of which is not even true, for example if u were to read about the travel supression, you would think you are stood still all the time when this simply is not the case, it isnt actually that much different.
The people throwing their toys out of their prams also resort to insults when something positive is posted about it, like " Oh you obviously dont PVP that much or know what you are talking about".
I think the changes are for the better, and for all those people who seem to think it has killed PVP, it was hardly teeming before was it? if it was so good, where were all these people then?
Sure it isnt perfect, for example the diminished returns on the healing sucks if that is your main type of powers or your only defense, but I have faith that it will be looked at and improved.
A few folk had a go last night and a fun time was had by all, so hang in there and let the changes evolve.

Thanks for the flame bait.

Well that just proves my point that you cant post anything positive about the PVP changes...... -

Yay looks very good
Now all we need is the forums fixed, they are awful tonight )
-
For one I am not referring to WoW as I wouldn't touch that with someone else's bargepole.
Yes other games have bugs, but they don't have several disconnects EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, their game doesn't go out of sync several times EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.
Power buttons that dont fire off EVERY SINGLE NIGHT
Get my drift? I,m not on about bugs, every game does have them, and I am not saying only CoH does, I,m on about normal everyday running of a game that should be better than this.
And funnily enough, as you speak, my other half is reporting buttons not going off yet again and Animations not working when they were before -
[ QUOTE ]
You have 12 toons, play a different one each night and you will take 23 days for each day job badge (and thats assuming you play 24 hours a day). You don't really lose out that much.
[/ QUOTE ]
Doesnt work that easily, when they announced them, I parked all my alts up.
The ones I havent played all got the badges, the ones I have are only 30% done -
Me too but apparently its not their fault
-
[ QUOTE ]
Let's see...
[ QUOTE ]
like constant mapservers
[/ QUOTE ]
These can be caused by any number of variables. Some within our control, many not. Data travelling between you and the servers passes through multiple ISPs, and a fault at any one of those (or the link between any two) is beyond our control to prevent.
[ QUOTE ]
like crashes
[/ QUOTE ]
The client crash identified at Issue 13 release was fixed within 12 hours. If you're referring to the nVidia+Vista crash ... we've been working on it, but again this is something not entirely within our control.
[ QUOTE ]
like the physics, opponents getting trapped behind walls or in them and being unhittable, leading to missions not being able to be finished. This was fixed previously and has now reared its head again.
[/ QUOTE ]
Report them, and the team will investigate and see about further fixes.
[ QUOTE ]
like syncing, ok so now we can type /sync, but should we really have to keep doing it over and over? Surely the game servers should be repaired or replaced instead, not have a plaster put on the problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a thorny one, and continues to be investigated. Unfortunately there has been no pattern discerned in the information we've seen from customers affected that would point to what is actually causing it. Some people have fixed it with hardware or software changes at their own end (for example changing router brand or updating router firmware, changing AV/firewall software). Those same fixes haven't worked for others who are affected. /sync was added so that players affected could continue to play while we continue to try to trace this well-hidden issue down.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry GR but I play plenty of other games and I dont suffer from multiple disconnects and such on ANY of them.
It is also various people I team with on various ISPs so that suggests to me that it is your end.
As for the /sync problem, again I have no problems elsewhere, and even your own forums have people complaining about it.
Lots of people getting the same problems, but yet again its the same old "not our fault but your end" rubbish. -
[ QUOTE ]
They can't be fixed until the cause is known, and without getting lucky that can be virtually impossible to find out.
The devs know crash bugs and lag is bad for the game - if they could have fixed it they would have fixed it.
[/ QUOTE ]
They did....and they havent.... -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Honestly?
You're assuming it's even possible to fix some of those.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you assuming they can't be fixed
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I was downright stating that several of them can't be fixed. Yes.
They can be reduced, or fixed for now. But fixed? Nope.
[/ QUOTE ]
I dint see why, when getting stuck in walls and dead enemies remaining standing up WERE fixed for w while, but they seem to have been "introduced" back into the game.
Maybe I could have worded it better, but it is these sort of things that I am on about more than crashes etc, things that worked badly, got fixed and now are working badly again. -
[ QUOTE ]
Did just notice this and find it funny:[ QUOTE ]
but the game will die if the basics cannot be gotten right in the first place, particularly with competition that is fresh
[/ QUOTE ]
If you think CoX is buggy, I strongly suspect that CO and DCUO will make CoX look like it's been sprayed with a broad spectrum insecticide.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes but people expect that from a new game, not one heading rapidly towards its 5th birthday.
The syncs and mapservers were a lot less frequent before, and tbh I play quite a few games, and this one is the worst for them. -
TechnicalUK-ML-1279305-ML-
-
I dont particularly mind the time to get them if its across the board, but I do object that all of the alts I dont use, get the badges, yet the ones I play regularly cant get them as I have logged them on and played, yet these are the ones I have collected badges on.
-
.......there are things that the devs need to do to keep its player base.
I am talking about the little things which seem to get fixed and be fine, and then for some reason they get added back into the game....
like constant mapservers
like crashes

As in the title, I really do think this will continue to be a strong franchise as we go forward, but the game will die if the basics cannot be gotten right in the first place, particularly with competition that is fresh.
While I applaud new issues etc. a little more time spent fixing things that were already working previously shouldn't be too difficult.
