Hoping I can manage to make it to some of the meet ups.
I'm dying for this to start. -
I don't believe a time as been set yet, I would suggest watching this thread and the Virtue forums as there will be other items happening leading up to the main event.

Technically Trioxin is with herself, she's only helping Phanto to get a new test subject.
Maybe I'll make a few other banners if I get some time. -
Xan requested some signature size banners in case people want to use them:

Quote:I do, though it rarely gets posted to.I sincerely hope you still update this topic.
For some reason, I'm unable to upload pictures. I keep getting a warning, saying "File Extension does not match MIME type." The file(s) I'm trying to upload is/are .jpg picture types.
EDIT: DERP. Nevermind. The destination file name was the problem.
Glad you got it fixed! -
Awesome! Can't wait for more and looking forward to unleashing the terrible will of SCIENCE!

Option 1.
Even if the unnecessary suspenders in her costume offend my fashion sense. -
Wow the team transport power sounds awesome!
Would be great to eventually get additional models for it like a Nemesis Mole machine. -
Kadekawa, yeah I get to talk to him a lot but I miss running around PVP zones with him.
Cyphre, the man and the myth, really enjoyed rping and writing with him, hoping I'll run into him playing TSW. -
Might as well try, I still love the art piece he did for me on Ava Adore ages ago.

Quote:That's not bad for just using paint!I must say, the way you make them look like a poster, something that is posted on a wall or such, is just awesome!
It's like minimalist, but such a great attention to detail.
Ok, i know mine isn't as good looking as yours, but.. here goes:
Stop laughing, i only have Paint >>>>.<<<<
If you're interested in trying out illustration there are a couple free illustrator style programs that will let you do vector art like what I'm doing in illustrator. I've never used them though so I can't really speak to how good they may be.

I have a tablet but I prefer to do my vector work by mouse, so you definitely don't need any special tools to do this.
That's what I've been trying to go for, which is a bit of a challenge when also trying to keep them as simple as possible. -

The move has been completed without issue and the sites have both been re-opened to everyone for editing. If you experience any issues on the site please let me know.

I'm making a thread for this as it will be a significant amount of downtime and I am hoping to reach as many people as possible in case people do not check the VirtueVerse thread.
VirtueVerse and its sister site UnionVerse will lock down @ 7 PM EST in preparation for the relocation of the server hardware.
Our host will be physically relocating the server to a new data center due to connectivity issues the current data center has been experiencing.
What this means:
At 7 PM EST I will lock the site for maintenance, you will be able to access it but editing and login will be turned off.
At 8 PM EST our host will be disconnecting the server and the domain will be unavailable. This means you will not be able to even view the site.
At 8 AM EST the servers should be back online. I will verify the site is working properly before re-enabling editing and login access hopefully around 10 AM EST.
Please follow our twitter feed for any updates and feel free to post questions you have here. -
Quote:Hey Echo,Yo.
Don't know if this is the right place to be asking, but I haven't been able to connect to the Handbook for..quite a while now.
Only happens on my home IP adress. Can use it fine elsewhere, and can log in without issues. When I try to access the website (even just the home page) I get a "connection has timed out" message.
I'm kinda confused as to why this is, so any help would be appreciated
I know the host is moving to a new data center because of connectivity issues, but I'm not sure if that is the problem here. But there are a few things you can try to diagnose it.
First try loading: http://www.ransim.com/ from home. You should get a simple page that says Web Site's Default Page. If that pages loads then you can connect to the server, but not UHVU.
If that page still does not load, then its possibly some weird DNS issue.
Open your command prompt, in windows click start then type CMD. It'll load the normal black command prompt.
Type:
Ping www.virtueverse.net
See if that resolves. If that fails then try:
ping 66.187.109.7
If that succeeds and the first one did not then you have a DNS issue. It could be that your DNS server, provided generally by your internet provider, isn't updating. You can try to resolve this by changing your DNS providers to another provider. Google Public DNS and OpenDNS are both options and are free.
If that fails as well then there is a routing issue and its likely host based and not something that's easy to fix. I would wait until Sunday or Monday and see if the physical move happening Friday resolves the issue. -
Downtime Friday February 17 - 18
Our host has schedule a large window of down time coming up on Friday, February 17th from 8PM EST (5PM PST) to approximately 8AM EST (5AM PST). The purpose of this downtime is going to be to physically move the server to a new data center. This will hopefully resolve some of the intermittent connection issues that have plagued the site for a few months now.
Please keep an eye on the @VirtueVerse twitter feed for updates. -

For now I'm only doing this for SG members, and I have a pretty huge list to get through.
After I get further through the list I might be down for doing these are trades with people as long as the character someone wanted done was interesting/feasible to do. -

Quote:Never saw it, but again I don't really post here all that often. There was a big thread awhile ago that had lots of these types of minimalistic images.
Where they CoH characters or were they the ones blo0p did of the popular characters? -
I've done a few of these now so I figured I would share them here. These were all heavily inspired by the works of blo0p on deviantart.
I've been in the process of making some fun minimalist posters for my current supergroup, The Challengers. These were all done in Adobe Illustrator with some minor work done in Photoshop to add depth and texture.

Quote:Its probably still a SQL query. They're not using SQL, they are using a custom-made database system created by the original devteam.
But it isn't just a simple SQL query. As a web developer who has some massive systems integration I really wish it was as simple as pull data in read mode from x. TADA.
The reality is its more like:
Read data from X
Read more data from Y using data from X.
Process data from X and Y against Z to output A.
Output A and write to B.
And that's just on the dev side, that's not counting any hardware or networking challenges that might exist or security issues between the systems and opening connections. -
