Jump cancelling This is a bit more of a universal thing. Jump cancelling(it's just what I call it) is when you completely cancel the animation and rooting of the attack. You still cannot attack during the duration of the animation but you may move and position yourself for the next attack. Very very useful for long lag attacks like total focus. I still don't fully understand how to do it, I've tried to test it before. I've noticed it happens a lot more when you kite, if you're moving fast away from someone while doing the attack. This especially happens when you have IR on you. If anyone knows anymore about it I would sure like to know.
Example can be seen at 2:30 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gv1JB_xvZM

I can make a video with an example of an intentional jump cancel. I do it all the time when using Poisonous Ray after Dominate. The cancelling comes when you use a power with a quick hit check and small delay in animation (i.e. Dominate or Power Bolt). If you're landing while the animation is finishing off, you can click a new power that will start to activate before the animation can register. You have to jump or turn to do it though. That's why in the video you see it after a quick turn. I never strafe so I get a lot of them.
2:18 of this video is another good example.
[/ QUOTE ]can you clarify this, do you mean if you use a short animation like dominate or powerbolt where the damage hits the target immediately you'll be able to skip the next animation if you're close to the ground?
Also I'll work on the post you've all been waiting for, pvping with doms in 8v8 villain v. villain teams :O(When I get home)

Here you go ladies and gentlemen: The Art of Jump-cancels.
Use your newfound power wisely.

Redname posted on this recently I think and said it is latency related. It is an interesting issue though. I can get infinite ice attack chains on my dom like that kiting around someone. Don't think the strafe has anything to do with it. -
HVND never practiced stacking. We stacked if we could, but usually only got 1-2, at most 3 vengeance. I think LD had like 7 sources of vengeance on some teams.
But yeah, vengeance stacks played a huge roll in the high numbers. Also, gotta remember we played Ice blasters too -
I am pretty certain you all fought ABH. I am thinking of maybe someone smaller back then? I might be wrong. I know for sure you all didn't fight Vel.
Come to think of it, I think ABH might be the only SG to get you all for a round in any of the officials, other than HVND that is. -

Read my post. I said LD at peak, not right after they lost all their players to penance. Ld started their winning streak against Lotd and beat almost every SG in the game, never fought Velocity I think.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, never did. From Manstrid "It's not worth our time, we smoke them every practice." Think there may have been another SG you all didn't fight either. -
That would be correct. LD was the whipping boy prior to the new group, which included Myk, Pan, Hoj and Sing, joined. They picked up a lot of new players and switched to intense practicing schedules. While Rift did take things a bit serious, he whipped those boys into shape.
But yes, prior to that, LD was in fact no good. I remember being on the ducks vent and them trashing the den. Long time ago. -

A couple things.

NDX introduced what they called the 4 x 4 (2 emps, 2 kins, 4 blasters)
[/ QUOTE ]Not quite sure what you meant by "introduced" but that "4 x 4" lineup was used before NDX. It was actually used in rounds 2 and 3 of FoL vs HVND. You worked HVND in the first round with the double cage so HVND loaded up on offense. We practiced that lineup quite a bit as well.
Acetophenetidin- People always get that wrong.
HVND vs LD- This was the last official for both groups. This was so much fun to play in, it was amazing. Round one HVND brought an unpracticed storm team (No idea why...) and drew the lab. This was the days of 20 min officials. The first round ended with 10 mins left on the clock with a score of 57-1 in favor of HVND. The second round was an Ace R&G team against the LD R&G team. I think the score was 31-18, something along those lines. Their vengeance stacking just got the best of us. Credit is due to Mikey Tyse for targeting using HP or End levels lol. The third round was the controversial one, because of "DCs." HVND drew an outdoor map with their storm team and CZ DCd. LD of course thought it was on purpose. Then HVND drew the lab again and LD had 5 people "DC." Then we drew the outbreak map and played an extremely close match that LD pulled a nice win out in the end winning the match by 4. Something like 24-20. Someone has screenies somewhere. This match also was a tier 3 insp match, which I believe was the last one of those too.
For it's last run, which consisted of 10MOP, FoL and LD, HVND banned troll caves. I believe the Velocity FoL and Velocity OS matches had them banned too. Not 100%.
Really good summary Ajax. GJ.

Hoj says: Biased stories are biased and he legit DC'd.
[/ QUOTE ]
True. Why I said controversial. Still the most fun match I have ever been in though.
Avid: Was it? I remember 5 offense, thought it was 5 blasters. Was a long time ago so meh. -
Well, I am certain about the HVND part, but not about the Vel OS/Freak matches. They might just not have drawn the cave. Like I said not 100% but I thought so.
And come to think of it, that lineup could have been NDXs. I know we used to run it in practice a bunch, but I think for that FoL match we ran 5 blasters. Our standard was 3 blasters, 1 rad, 2 kins, 2 emps. -

Edit: Rather not get into childish flames.
The Ace team is still one of the biggest providers of drama despite losing both of it's matches lol. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also, I believe HVND left after our victory over FoL
[/ QUOTE ]
This last time? HVND's last last last arena match was a loss to Lions Den. Third match was damn close but they pulled it out at the end. Few memorable moments:
Penance vs HVND- Where the original "HVND Turtle" was invented. Bubbles, storms and a lot of love. Penance lost this match, and then went on to lose to FoL I believe, and then quit the game.
HVND vs LD- HVND and LDs last match. These were the "top 2" teams at that time. Clash of the titans ending with the retirement of both SGs. The second appearance of the HVND "Ace" team, this time using a Run and Gun team, rather than the old loldefense team. It still lost though. First was to FoL.
JAL vs FoL- Flying Turtle. It was a good amount of lulz. Group Fly + TP around and GG. It lost and still got a huge amount of grief.
VR vs Velocity- Evade team. Essentially accomplishing the same thing as the flying turtle, Velocity scored and ran the whole match. The forum lulz were epic as well because flying turtle supporters turned to haters. After the win, Velocity left the game. -
Hopefully the players will spread out amongst SGs for the sake of competition.
-
Well, we are much in the state that it seems everyone else is in, unsure of who will be remaining. So once the dust settles, I will update the roster on who will be staying, if any of us.

Necro is some emo kid in OS. I can confirm this.

I see a lot of good changes here, but one thing I'm not getting... under what's proposed above, how is a tray full of BF's not an instant "i win" when facing a dom in PVP ?
[/ QUOTE ]
A Mag 8 hold every 2 and a half seconds? Mag 10 protection from Hold in a break free. Before the first break free runs out, you can stack enough holds to hold you through 8 or 9 break frees. My mind dom has stacked holds long enough that I have killed the person with the damage from Dominate. Then again, Megalo and Power Boost do that to ya.
But, that does give quite the advantage to bursty damage types like blasters. 2 breaks is a little few for a blaster. But I guess there is no real way to have a perfect balance.... other than to make it a clicky -
[ QUOTE ]
FWIW, we reverted out the "Not affect players" change to TK, and changed Break Frees to 50% Repel Resist, and 100% resist for Medium and Large inspires.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think 33% for Tier 1s, 66% for Tier 2s and 100% for Tier 3s makes more sense. That way it takes 3 smalls, 1 small 1 med or just 1 large. Mediums are too easy to come by making 100% res for 1 min ridiculous. I realize the durations would cause a problem though, but 1 med and 2 smalls would give you 1 min TK res rather than 8 smalls like it is now.
Also, in terms of nerfing the power, I still believe that making it a 10-15 second click would make it less powerful while still being a threat. That way at least you can -recharge your way out of it.
