When I graduated college back in 1996 I asked them to announce me as Chuck Deckle. My father told me it meant "bad meat". Turned out it's quite the opposite. Deckle is pretty darn tasty. Dreck means ****, garbage, etc.

So it wasn't my fault, it was my father's fault.

So if I ever graduate school again I'll have them announce me as Chuck Dreck.
