Alternatively, you can skip the shields altogether if you don't want to be a buffbot and get the rez. That's what I did and I don't regret it. However, you WILL have endurance problems if you're acting as the teams main healer and controller, *especially* if you're using the rez so keep that in mind.

You shouldn't let this stop you from trying a WS. If you don't like TP'ing, then just switch to Nova form and fly around. Nova form is my main method of travel. As a WS, you get the Nova form at lvl 6 so you'd only have to bear the teleporting for 6 levels or so, which fly by extremely fast. You can get to lvl 8 just running through the sewers once.

I always play on big teams so I figured facing them once until lvl 27 was a bit odd. It was probably because the difficulty setting wasn't very high until the later levels. After playing some more yesterday, I encountered more cysts...probably 3 or more. They were pretty fun. Yeah some people died (some forgot the explosion at the end lol), but they weren't incredibly difficult. Although, I couldn't imagine how going up against 2 cysts next to one another would turn out.

I rolled my first Khledian and managed to get him from lvl 1 to 27 in a matter of two days (no farming/AE either). I always worried about meeting up with cysts, but it only showed up once around lvl 12 and the team took care of it without too much trouble. I was just wondering how likely it is for cysts to show up in missions. Should I have encountered them more often

Could probably involve quicksand, or sand in general. I'm think Gaara from Naruto.

I can tell you right now that if Corruptors are able to go blue-side, a Fire/anything will be the first thing I make. I'm not a fan of blasters' secondaries at all, but I've been itching to play a Fire/. Using defender-like powers is my ideal AT.

I'm going to have to agree with this. I have an earth/thermal and if i'm acting as the main healer and controller, my end runs dry very fast, especially if i use rise of the pheonix on someone. There is just too much to do. I sometimes have to decide between healing someone close to death or using controller-ish powers (earthquake, volcanic gasses, quicksand, etc) to prevent further damage to the team. I'm guessing a fire/thermal might run into the same problems. Gunslinger's advice of not overextending yourself is a good one.
