Glad to hear it. Shannon is about halfway to 41, and she really wants/needs the extra protection Body Armor will give her.

I can't find Disorient listed under any of the invention badges. Does it count towards the same ones as Sleep, Stun, Hold, etc.? Or does it not count towards any of them?

The Lord of Winter mission appears to be bugged - when you click on the big present you get teleported to another zone at random rather than the Lord of Winter's realm.
Maybe this is the excuse they need to extend it. -
Can't trade these codes. Only way to know if you got a valid one is to use it. If you could trade them, I too would have been looking to make a trade.

I too will be disappointed if the big secret was that Lori was pregnant. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me on several levels.
1) Even if the doctor found out she was pregnant, why would he think it wasn't Rick's baby? Why even run a DNA test to see who the father was unless, A) he was just that nosy, or B) they revealed to him during dinner that Rick was in a coma for a month.
2) Speaking of dinner, Lori was hitting the wine pretty hard. You'd think if the doctor knew she was pregnant, he'd assume from the boozing that she didn't know, and maybe he would tell her.
3) From an out-of-story perspective, like others have said, if Lori is pregnant, it will come to light eventually anyway, so why waste a cliffhanger on it? Although, if it takes her a couple more weeks of in-show time to realize she's pregnant, then it would confuse the issue of whether Rick or Shane is the father.
I never read the comic book, but I think the spoiler mentioned earlier makes much more sense. Prior to reading that, I assumed the secret was going to have something to do with the origin of the virus.
At the beginning of the episode, didn't Jenner record something to the effect that they had been in Wildfire mode for 100+ days, and that the public exposure had taken place 30-something days earlier? I assumed that meant the virus was created, or discovered, sometime before the beginning of the series and there was an accident that caused it to escape containment. When we learned that Jenner's wife also worked at the CDC, I figured she was exposed in the accident and that's why she volunteered for the study. -
Quote:Well, it's not like your brute is going to have to shovel snow in Port Oakes, or your blaster is going to get frostbite because her car got stranded in a blizzard on the Skyway City freeway.having the zones look like that for two weeks would annoy me to no end.
I play games to get AWAY from real life.
It's just decoration. -
I'm going to theorize that the Twitter codes are being claimed more quickly than the others because Twitter notifies you when the codes are posted, so claiming one of those is a matter of being reactive.
To get one of the codes posted on the forums or (as far as I know) Facebook, you have to be proactive and somewhat more lucky - i.e. you have to keep refreshing the page in question, and be lucky enough to refresh it shortly after the codes are posted.
I'm shocked that you were able to get one from Twitter 11 minutes after the fact, Trassy. Was it maybe an EU code? When I was playing the Twitter game, the NA codes were always gone by the time I could get my account page open and type them in. None of them lasted 11 minutes. -

It ain't gonna happen. I doubt anyone but a skeleton crew is going to be in the office for the next three weeks. Certainly not enough staff to run a full beta--the previous super-duper closed i20 beta was limited to a scant few things, centered around the new Behavioral Adjustment Facility raid they talked briefly about at the last Meet & Greet.
It didn't contain everything that's scheduled to go in i20... at least that's my understanding. The only players who know for sure signed a piece of paper saying that NCSoft can vaporize them from their deadly space satellite if they so much as blink any unreleased info in Morse Code. -
Maybe it's so short because they are going to release i20 on January 4th.
Yeah, I hope they extend it another week too. -
I take one of two paths:
Name ---> concept/powers ---> backstory.
or,
Concept/powers ---> name ---> backstory.
I rarely, if ever, make up a new character based soley on a combination of powers that I've heard is amazing (i.e. flavor of the month). Sometimes I'll think, "Hey, I don't have a character with xyz abilities," and I'll try to come up with a concept for them. More often though I think up a cool name and if it's available, I'll try to build a character around it. I don't always succeed. -
G-Man, they are posting them in a stickied thread in the COH General Discussion forum.

Quote:I have absolutely no problem with luck-based lotteries (are there any other kind, btw?). I do have a problem with the "feeding frenzy" scramble for the codes way they go about conducting these so-called "lotteries."You're really comparing adults not getting a good enough chance at winning a luck based lottery with this? Wow. Just wow.
You expect everyone to just get a code for Christmas without a competition, as that what your over the top example suggests.
Most Paragon contests I have even less chance, as I'm not allowed to enter. That really is not a chance, unlike this one which is does provide you a chance.
Let me use another example - two local organizations are each giving away 20 TVs as part of a drug-awareness campaign. Organization A sets up a booth and hands out raffle tickets for eight hours. At the end of the eight hours, they draw 20 raffle tickets and give the TVs to the winners. Organization B tells people that at some random time of the day, they are going to throw twenty metal tokens into a ring and the first 20 people to get into the ring and grab a token will win a TV.
Only 40 people are going to win TVs, but of the people who lost, who do you think are going to be more bitter - the people who picked up a slip of paper at their leisure, or the people who were made to "fight" for the tokens?
So no, I don't expect them to give everyone a code for Christmas, though I can see how you would think I did. I just wish that they would use a less "gladitorial" method of awarding them. -
Thanks all. Got on one quite easily last night, and it was the steamrollingest ITF I've ever been on. Only one death - mine because I was stupidly standing too close to one of the Shards when it blew.

I have a toon who could really use the Roman costume set.

Considering that for some reason it takes me more than a minute to log into my NCSoft Master Account when these pop up, I'm fairly sure they are all gone by the time I type the first one in. Oh well, I guess I'll give up on snagging one of these like I have every other time they've had a "Feeding Frenzy" giveaway in the past.

Quote:You know, you have a point. Next week my company is hosting a Christmas party for 20 four year olds from a local day nursery. Taking Paragon Studios' lead, I suggested that to make the day more fun, instead of buying 20 presents, we only buy ten.... I don't understand why everyone is acting so entitled. The costumes are being given out for free! This is not included in your membership fee. Chill the hell out.
Then we'll put the kids in a circle, toss the gifts in the center and let them scramble for them. Oh, and just to make it even better, we'll have volunteers physically restrain a few of the kids so they have no chance of getting a present whatsoever!
I'm sure some of the kids will be disappointed and a few will probably cry, but to those kids I will say, "These presents are free! You are not entitled to one, so chill the hell out."
I just know it's going to put everyone in the Christmas spirit, because after all that's what the holidays are all about - peace on Earth, goodwill to men, and giving gifts to a few fast and/or lucky people while leaving everyone else empty handed. -
Quote:OK, thanks!Good question Mousey, I post all of the drawings I have done during the week in these two threads
Nurse White and Rose Maiden
Duck Faced Creations
I update this every Friday evening so if I chose your character to draw it would be in there. However if not don't give up hope there is an entire month of drawing to do! -
I'm still not jaded about this event. Maybe because it was running when I first started playing, or maybe because I have only been playing for 3 years.
This'll be my fourth Winter Event, but I still very much look forward to it, and probably would even if there was nothing new added, which there has been each year.
I only wish it ran longer than 16 days. -
Another suggestion (fr the forum giveaways at least):
1) Pick a random number between 1 and 1000 each day.
2) Each day at noon PST start a thread in the Forum Games section inviting people to guess the number.
3) At noon the next day lock the thread and award a code via to the X number of people closest to that number.
4) Start a new thread for that day.
I guess the obvious drawback to this is that people could sell the codes on eBay, but to me that is a lesser evil than the "feeding frenzy" and ill will the current system creates. Also, someone would have to keep track of who won previously and disqualify them from entering again and again. -
Lady C, are we to keep an eye on your DA page to see if you did drawings of our characters, or will you post a notification here if/when you do one?
Just curious. -
Were the Forums versions of the codes ever posted yesterday?

Quote:On a slight aside, those saying they would buy cossie codes, you know the Real World Hero charity drive has 9 cossie codes up on their auction pages, so you can buy one and donate to a good cause as well
http://realworldhero.com/category/auction/
I did not know about those, thanks.
Dear Paragon Studios - please, Please, PLEASE donate a couple of Coralax codes to this auction! Please? -
This game is going to the Europeans!
