wait for i14 to be as ready as it can be
[/ QUOTE ]
So what your saying is NC won't tell us what is going on, There's no official explanation from NC other than GR's farewell and the community is very worried that it is not going to be listened to or talked to, but screw that issue 14 is out soon... oooo shiny. Wake up and smell the coffee. It smells like a big steaming cup of screw you.
As I see it we know have a marketing department in the EU. Which does what for CoX exactly? No GMs, No development, No QA, No Mods, No Web team, Not much of anything really. We have 1 mod who is in the states. GM response has been bad in the past, how good do you think it is going to be now?
I am still waiting for the announcement that due to not giving a damn what the EU players think the downtime will be moved to the same as the US servers as it is easier for the devs.
The EU community has always been a second class community to the devs. I can't see this making us more popular, or listened to. Personally I am not going to hang around unless we start getting some sort of response or reassurance. I remember all too well what SoE was like. No answers for the community and then a huge dump on them, with promises that it will be a shiny [censored] in the future. -

MA will give us a chance to do something different with those maps.
Look out for my "find 37 glowies in the Eden Spire" mission.

Hey! I was going to put an "Escort the hostage out" mission in there!
[/ QUOTE ]
I was thinking of a defend the hostage mission in there, complete with AV ambush.. Targetted on the hostage /em evilgrin -
I have an empath/elec defender and he can zap a lot of endurance from enemies with just short circuit. I also slot ball lightning for end drain. I also remember reading that defenders also get a bonus to the end drain that they do, but can't find the link at the moment. I think a kinetic/elec would be very good. You could drain speed, regen, recharge, endurance and damage.

I also suspect that places like the Titan Gaming Network will do reviews of player content, so will be a prime place for finding the good ones.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would be more willing to believe the ratings from titan than any sort of player driven rating system.
[/ QUOTE ]
But but but but...
Any Titan site giving ratings would be a player driven rating system - it'd just be one with (presumably) better feedback and possibly better ratings system.
Heck - I'd proabably trust Titan more, but I couldn't deny it being player driven.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would echo that. Any sort of system would be player driven, but given the titan site is outside the standard CoX login. It would have to be a pretty dedicated friend to sign up to a site just to vote for someones map ingame.
Also external site, in my experience, tend to be more impartial. -

Although summoning Lusca on a 2 man team would be pretty funny..

That would be funny.
player 1: Well those AV's were tough. it can't get any harder
player 2: wanna... kin.. bet.. ?
Lusca: rrraaaaaagghhhhhhh!!!!!!
Player 1: oh sh......
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed!
Important note for anyone playing any arcs I may happen to create. I *am* going to kill you, in several interesting ways...
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh yeah.

Instead of a timer how about positional ambushes? As you pass each part it sets off an alarm that comes to get you. Getting tougher and tougher as you go along until the final room that has 2 AVs summoning a GM. Don't take them in time and hello GM.
I am sort of looking forward to creating missions I just hope that it can keep up with my expectations. -

Excessive voting up OR down will be looked at by the devs

If there are any left by then.

. Even if tiny 0.1% of arcs would be any good, that's still dozens, maybe hundreds of good ones. Finding them might ber a problem though, look at any fanfiction site...

Arent we able to give the missions a grade?

Which means that anyone with a load of mates will rapidly raise to the top while some unknown genius stays at the bottom of the ratings. Asking a community to rate almost always turns into a popularity contest. Some genuinely good ones will raise to the top, but the majority will get there due to "I have to vote my mate up" -

Q4 numbers are out folks.
Looks like things [censored]'d in September, but improved very slightly by December...
Either way, 13,823 concurrent users for US/EU combined is rubbish.
Games sales are, however, up. From 5,416 in Q1 to 6,865 in Q4, increasing steadily throughout the year.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't see it but I am having a blind as a bat day, but does the sale include the Mac pack? I would imagine that several people bought it without actually increasing the player base. -
By the way. Sony ran US and EU servers accessible through one client for Planetside.

Including the Shirley Crabtree Appreciation Society?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oi! You leave my uncle Shirley out of this!
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh I hope you aren't serious... My girlfriend is actually related to him. That would make us.. distant family of a sort.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, to be completely accurate, he was my god father, not my uncle; but I always called him just Uncle Shirley. Have known him since I was knee high to a wasp and it's only a disagreement between Shirley's missus and my dad that our families drifted apart in the 15 years before he passed.
He and my dad were in the army together, and were wrestlers together. Old old friends.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know it just shows how small the world is at times. My girlfriends auntie married, I think it was a cousin of his.
Still back to the OP
aaaarrggghhh.. DDDDOOOOOOOOOOOMM!!!!!!
Hope it works out OK for you GR. I got made redundant myself, but with my unique mix of talents I got a job quick enough -

One TF that would be quite good would be if you had to have 2 villains and 2 heroes in a team. Then the team effectively had to split into 2, heroes and villains. Then complete missions in their own side at the same side. Sort of a click the glowies together but on different maps.
More than likely impossible, but it would be cool. -

Sure, I'll throw a MAJOR hissy fit whenever I see a VEAT in my team without Tactical Training: Maneuvers. But if I'm leading, I won't kick them. I'll tell them they really really REALLY should get it the next time they level up and get to choose a new power.
[/ QUOTE ]
I haven't got it. Level 20 so far and not even looked at it. Anyone that would kick me from a team for not having a power on my character that they think I should have is not someone I would team twice with. My character, my choice. -

It would be a spoiler
[/ QUOTE ]
No it wouldn't - now tell me, or I'll be forced to "investigate" you until you do
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually since it is the first and only mission you can do when you start. I don't think it is a spoiler to say
Ner ner not telling
-
Excellent. That's more like it. Even though the character lacks the wow factor, the new arcs are very nice.
-
Nope. Nothing suggested I should. He gave me one mission and then passed me on.
-
Where? at level 17 I have done 1 mission that wasn't outside of the normal villain mission arcs.
-
Minor point. But where is the Widow specific arcs? I got a mission to put my name on the destined list. Then just the same old missions.
-
By the way. I actually quite like my Widow. She is quite a nice killing machine and I rather like the cone spike blast. It is just that I just don't get the sense of awesomeness that I did with Kheldians.
-
Well I finally managed to play a villain to level 50. When I hit it I decided to fire up a widow and see what they played like. Frankly I was disappointed. So I started a soldier. Again meh. Where is the WOW in VEATs? They seem very lacklustre. At level 6 my HEAT could transform into a new entity. I can still remember going squid and someone saying "wth is that?" in a team. At level 6 my widow got another pointy attack.
Do people ever look at a widow or soldier in game and say "wow I can't wait to get one of them"? -
[ QUOTE ]
If you've got two tanks then you can play mob ping pong. Start with two tanks about 70 feet apart. The first tank taunts a mob which must now run towards it. The second tank taunts the mob just before it reaches the first tank. Rinse, repeat.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know I have never been able to do that. When my tanker taunts things they run to him and stay there. Other tankers have commented on how they can't peel enemies off me. I do slot taunt and taunt aura powers with 3 durations which may be the deciding thing, however as I understood it you can peel enemies off tankers by overriding the taunt.
[ QUOTE ]
On teams Defenders are fine in general, they serve their purpose well and I've never found Vigilance particularly useful.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same here. Although the defender I have played the most is an empath, which negates the power completely. If I do my job well it remains at 0% boost, if I do a bad job extra endurance is not going to help.
