Just a small complaint, when we start going Rogue, we can switch to the traditional Rogue Island zone at lvl 20. If we want a cape, we must then contact Kalinda on Mercy and then run her missions. This seems a bit redundant. If we had started in COV, at 20 we would have already run her missions. Just seems to be a bit of a pain. Any opinions?

I went into RV today. This was my first visit since I16 came out. I checked out the zone looking for someone to fight. Nobody there. I decided to grab a heavy and work on some pillboxes. On the way to the pb there was a group of 6 longbow standing in the street. Sent the heavy in and jumped in myself. In the middle of the fight I saw the heavy go down. I was really surprised. I grabbed another heavy and sent him toward a group. A warden came out to meet him and killed him. It was then that I found the heavy was only a lvl 50. Pillboxes too are only lvl 50.
I know what a PvP zone is. PvP stands for Player verses Player. But street hunting has always been a fun thing to do when no other players are in the zone. The ever present danger of getting attacked by another player adds to the fun. I don't mind getting rid of the heavies. Lets do it. But at the same time, how about giving us PvP'ers the same level of difficulty on the npc's that players in other zones face. It is far far harder to take down a longbow in RV than it is in a comparitable non-PvP zone. Why is that? Without the heavies I would think it should be the same.
I realize that this might not be a problem on other servers with larger populations of PvP'ers. On the less busy servers there is a lot of waiting around. Before we could grab a heavy and street hunt while we waited. We still could street hunt without a heavy but only if the difficulty of the npc's is made comparable to non pvp zones.
I've spoken to others who are leaving Infinity. Some are leaving for other games, and some are heading toward one of the more PvP orientated zones. Infinty is barely populated as it is but I think that heading for a new server may be the way to go. At least it is if you like PvP. -
First of all let me say that I do enjoy this game having been with it since just after beta in COH and since beta in COV. I do like I16 for the most part, it shows that the devs have been listening to suggestions. But my observation is this: I started a new toon to take advantage of the new Broadsword stalker. She is now up to level 34, and at no time during this period, have I found a pickup team. I can't speak for other servers, but on infinity, you never see a team looking for members. If you state that you are looking for a team, unless someone on a team knows you, you never get an answer. I thought this was possibly because I was on a stalker, but I have friends playing brutes, corrupters, and mm's telling me the same thing.
A pickup team used to be a great way to meet new friends.
It used to be that someone forming a team would seek members to get the team up to 8 for maximum mobs and thus infamy, but with the new system, this is no longer necessary. A solution? I have none.
I have been in the game a long time and know a lot of players. Most of the time I can get on a team eventually with someone I know. But what about the new players, the people who are just getting online. If they love playing solo, great. But if they are looking for a team oriented game, it seems that is far less available than it was prior to I16.
Any games future is dependent on existing players and new players coming in. I think the rather significant drop in the team aspect is going to hurt the new player. I think that the current players who like to get in pick up teams when their friends are off line are also going to be disappointed. Again, I have no ready answer, but I do think that this problem should be addressed. -
When the massive PVP nerf bat struck a few issues back, I like many other dedicated PvP'ers left the game. I recently came back to give it a try once again. What was the biggest changes I found in PvP. PvP is substancially less populated than it once was. PvP does have some new people who have replaces a portion of those the Dev's forced out. Unfortunatley many of those new people have no idea what PvP is. There are those who never get out from under the statue and their formalized duals. Isn't that what arena is for? The, "Don't attack me, I'm only hear to dual.", is frequently heard. There is also the even more popular, "Leave me alone, I'm only here to farm!" Last night I heard the ultimate. I took out a scrapper farming Pb's. This scrapper was close to 50, and when I took him out with my stalker he sent this on Broadcast, "You #$%$# I'd like you to try that when I can see you." He was serious. The old PvP'ers have been replaced, in many cases but not all, with far too many people who don't have a clue and don't care to learn. I still like the game, but man I do miss the old PvP.

Well so Arena PvP'ers are being thrown a bone. Good. Nice. Now everyone should rejoice. Everyone who was disgusted about zone PVP changes shoud be joyful. All those who have quit should be coming back. Step 2 on the well thought out distruction of actuall pvp is here!!!! Yay!!!
