Why does everyone seem to think Nukes and Shivans are mandatory temps needed for anything hard?

Because at least for the LRSF... they are required.

Means he's going to give it away in costume contests or just random acts of kindness to either SG mates, or random strangers.

I personally don't approve of this, as the inflated amount of currency in the game has deflated its value, and doing things like this only deflates it more-so.

For every billionaire that has made their billions flipping, crafting and marketeering, and not farming, I salute you. Not only are you pulling currency out of the economy via crafting fees and market fees, and not putting any extra in, only dealing with what's already on the market, you're also hoarding all that money you've earned, which will very likely never all be spent entirely by you, thus taking it out of the economy as well.

The billionaires that hoard their cash and do nothing with it increase the value of the influence/infamy by the simple fact that there is less of it, which is what this economy desperately needs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like you have no clue how the market works, or the game economy in general. Characters make way more influence/infamy just playing the game than any moneysink could ever take out of it. If you really wanted to slow down the flippers and ebil market pvpers, STOP LOWBALLING THE STUFF YOU'RE SELLING. You are in control, not them. They bid what they do because they know there's people just dumping stuff into the markets for cheap. Take their profit margins down past a certain point, and it becomes a waste of their time, and the people that are buying because they want to use your recipes/enhancements/salvage will still be buying it.

And Iltat is doing something with his billions. He's spreading it out amongst the players. He and the Pingus do it every year. The only reason he builds up his kitty is to give it away.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Huh? What?

    Read slower.

I LIKE MARKETEERS. I LIKE FLIPPING. Hell, I'm a flipper. It doesn't matter how little it helps to take your fair share of money out of the economy. It still helps.

People that receive those millions and millions of currency, basically for free, have not learned the value of that currency, and will not spend it wisely. It's like giving a kid a $100 bill and pointing him at a souviner stand in a tourist trap. He's going to pay $100 for the first thing he sees that looks cool, and if there are other people around, they will get the perception that that item is worth $100, and the perceived price goes up.

I aspire to make that much money. I'm still a budding marketeer, working on their first billion. I'll use it to fund myself, spend what will likely be only a small portion of it on builds I only once dreamed of. I will never give that kind of money away, because in this game everyone has a chance to make millions if they have the drive for it. Free hand outs, in my opinion, only train people spend it just as quickly as they obtained it, and to complain once they've spent it all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Interestingly enough, you're shooting yourself in the foot.

You see, if you were giving that child $100 and sending them into a tourist trap, then you're not helping yourself in any way. In this case, not only is it your child, it's your tourist trap too. You see, I'm giving people billions of influence and then pointing them to the tourist trap that is filled with my own overpriced items. While I won't necessarily get all of their money in return, you can guarantee I'll get some of it, as will all the other marketeers, including yourself.

I'm actually giving these people money and sending them into your tourist trap. You're welcome.

Does each globel have to have its own forum account or can it be posted under one and them @whatever be listed in the post?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1 forum account is fine.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Clarification: "Each global is allowed 5 entries." This really is per global, not per person? So if you had 2 accounts, 10 entries, 3 accounts 15 entries?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup. But the characters must be on those different globals, so you can't enter 15 from your first global and just claim they're entries for your other globals.
  8. Okay, so it's time to start the Pingu Anniversary celebrations. For those who haven't seen the full rundown, linkylink. Here are the rules for the forum contest:

    1) Screenshots must be submitted in this thread or PMed to me here on the boards by 12pm noon, Pacific time, May 31st, 2009.

Decisions will be made by midnight next Sunday night, so obviously, I need some time to consider them. Send it to me after that, and you're SOL.

    2) Prizes are 500 mil, 300 mil, and 200 mil for the top 3 spots. If there is an honorable mention or three, that'll be solely at my discretion.

Yeah, my contest, my decisions. Don't whine if I didn't like your costume. That's the way it goes.

    3) Good costumes win.

Just because you found every skull piece in the game, Lord DarkityDeath of DOOM, doesn't mean your costume RAWKS. ScantilyCladGirl, while I am a guy, I am not turned on by your lack of pixelated clothing. SuperRomanArmorGuy, LookImSoFunnyIMadeAChicken, and IMatchedAllTheVanguardPiecesDOOD, yeah, I get it, you can match pieces from the same set together, and I also get that you can make some ridiculous stuff with the costume creator. None of you win my costume contest though. Same goes for you, Wool Verr Reen. Yes, it's funny because it's clever. Gotcha. Lose.

    4) If the winner's on Champion, they get all the money. If they're on another server, they lose some to market fees. Way of the world.

This is an open contest, with Championites encouraged. Thus, Championites win a little more money. Pretty self-explanatory.

    5) Each global is allowed 5 entries. Winning character has to be on that global, and each entry needs to contain the global and character name. If you don't have these things, your entry will not count. Srsly.

Ya rly. I need to be able to find you afterwards and don't want 192,000 messages of every costume you've ever made for your 5,942 alts over the last 5 years.

    6) If I can't see your costume well, it will not get judged well.

Take the screenie at the ICON screen, the character selection screen, standing under Atlas' crotch, I don't really care. If you have a black costume and take the picture in DA with your smoky aura, you lose. Be smart.

    7) Photoshop. Don't.

I will remember your name from your entry. You don't need to add anything to your picture. Except maybe a penguin in the upper left corner. I like penguins.

    8) Good wins.

I can't stress this enough. I don't care if you're patriotic or St. Patrick's Day themed or have a hook or super-evil-god-bad-guy-turned-hero-because-he-was-bored-with-having-to-play-cards-with-Marie-Antoinette-all-day or whatever else you can imagine. If it all works together, that's what matters. Basic ideas are that matching colors are good. If you have 27 different colors in your costume, you will lose and my retinas will slap you through the intertubes. Don't make me retina slap you.

Okay, I think that about covers it. This is the submission thread, so, you know, submit stuff here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here too. I'll wade through the submissions to find the questions. If you don't have an answer in 24 hours, yell at me. Really.

Oh, last thing, this prize is in INFLUENCE. Want to enter your villain's costume? PUT IT ON A HERO. I made all my money Heroside, live with it. Good luck.

I've said them many times on these forums.

    Red Fortune
    Doctored Wounds
    Crushing Impact
    Thunderstrike
    Titanium Coating

Level 50s, initial buy in used to be about 600K. Start with one, sell 5 a day by the end of the week. As your bankroll grows, move into higher profit margin pieces (if you desire that IO, everyone desires that IO, profit is waiting).

I started with 4 million inf last May. In 11 days, I'm going to be giving away 10 billion inf on Champion server. You can do it just as easily.

EDIT: Here's my current post about what I'm making money off of now. I included what IOs, what toons are making money off them, and my price signature so people can see exactly what my price points are. I have made approximately 1.2 billion influence since that original post. That's in 9 days. I have another 11 until I give it all away. I have an outside shot at 12 billion by the time my zero hour rolls around.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
The single character method does not yield as much as having mules, but once you get the mules to level 10, its only about buying and selling once a week on each one. The hump is the leveling to 10 on each one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I promise, if I was to use 1 character and you used your whole stable of mules, my earnings per week would utterly destroy yours. Every time you clear a 10 stack bought at 500 and sold at 10,000 each, you make 95,000 inf. Every 10 enhancements I sell on a new-ish character, I clear about 10,000,000 inf. Thus, it would take you buying/vendoring 106 stacks of 10 recipes to equal my 10. Oh, and my 10 turn over every other day. So, in a week, I clear about 35,000,000 inf, the equivalent of you buying/vendoring 369 stacks of 10 recipes.

Your method is definitely lucrative enough to provide nice funding. Mine's just a more lucrative method.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
A different mindset is needed using the market to simply bankroll your character. The main idea is not buying SPECIFIC enhancements at ALL... however its a routine of buying and selling that achieves a VERY high influence fast... here it goes :

This idea was created by the leader of the Wolfpack Elite.

    (My SG).

To Bankroll A Single Character By Themselves :
On the way to level 10, sell EVERYTHING you can...

    1. Go to level 10 as fast as you can to get all of your market slots.
    2. Get to Kings Row and go to the Wentworths THERE. (Its right next to the shop and leveling). This makes buying and selling FAST!
    3. Set filters to FOR SALE ONLY and RARE for enh occurance.
    4. Only buy quantities (stacks) of 10 on ANYTHING thats 500 or less!
    6. Buy at 100 more than the going rate. IF its 200 buy stacks of 10 at 300 instead. From 1 to 500, buy at 100 more to insure purchase as best as possible.
    7. Fill the slots with what you can afford to buy, then once sold, sell to the store next to the trainer. DO NOT CARE about WHAT IT IS... just dont buy anything over 500... this insures a GREAT sale for YOU to the store regardless.

    8. Lather, rinse, Repeat!

TO BANKROLL A SINGLE CHARACTER MASSIVELY !!!

Do this SAME routine on MULE characters on same server.
It helps a LOT if you have 2 game accounts, if not, find a TRUSTWORTHY friend who WONT steal, to transfer funds to your main character from your mules...

MULES?!?! Yes! Make 1 character you WANT TO PLAY to 50, then fill all other slots with FAKE characters you will only take to level 10 each.

Commit them all to the above scheme for the plan above,
Just repeat the process with all mules.

Once a month or at whatever regularity you wish, transfer each mule's influence to a friend you can trust, OR to a second account using SAFE RENDERER and dual logging on seperate accounts. Just trade to the mule on the 2nd account, then trade back to the main playing character!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

That'll getcha to a couple mil after awhile, but that sure is a lot of work.

The real question is: Can you then take that couple mil and turn it (on one character, not a bunch of mules) into enough to fund every single other Hero toon you ever make without ever leaving WW (not a single step outside the building) again?

    My real #9

So 1 week's gone by since I posted exactly what toons were making money on exactly what items and what my price signature was. Time to see how I did...

(screenshots take time and are a pain)

    Funds (5/18 pm):
    1.236B (MP)
    1.256B (SqP)
    1.417B (PF)
    1.026B (PP)
    1.225B (K)
    1.163B (StP)
    1.037B (LMP)
    1.156B (PotR)
    ------------------
    9.516B (Total)

    Current outstanding sales: 625M

So basically, I made 384M in cash receipts and another 325M in products for sale, for an overall profit of 709M in one week making money only by way of the things listed in my original screenshot.

I'm tellin' ya, it really is that easy.

I'll update this thread again next Monday and the Sunday morning after that. 13 days from now, it all goes bye-bye, scattered amongst the masses of Champion server.

Feel free to provide evidence of how your stereotyping of all "pure" empaths are useless is logical, if you can.
