Quote:*Winces*Ok.. I am gonna go take a nap... If I am not awakened when and if open beta starts.. There shall be severe repercussions. I will demand that you all take turns spanking my hairy bottom with the Shoedini or a/k/a, "Shoehorn on a stick!" while screaming quotes from various movies that Gilbert Gottfried has starred in. G'night
That's making the top of my 'Issue 17 open beta will cleanse me of X' list. -
Quote:We could lie. :PSo wait, if it came out TODAY on live, you'd use it and play with it and enjoy it.
If it came out TODAY on test, you wouldn't want to get on because you wouldn't want to spoil it.
Even though me and everyone else you know are going to tell you all about it and spoil it before you get to see it for yourself! -
There -seems- to be a small discrepancy between the two Test servers. Training room is 'up to date' with the A patch.
Training room 02 seems to be a different version. Possibly (Theorized? Postulated?) that that's going to be the GR friends and family beta server.
Of course, it's just a theory. -

Quote:It is indeed still early... the clock on my computer says it is now 10:26 Central, so that means it is only 8:26 Pacific.
The Devs that start up Open Beta are probably just settling into their chairs with their cups of coffee and, and, whatever they munch on while drinking coffee.
But, I am off today, so that probably has messed up a Tuesday start.
Lisa.
I almost get a mental image that the Devs are crowded around a box of donuts and coffee... Muttering something along the lines of 'Too early? Or not too early? That's the question...' then looking at the clock and shrugging.
...In the meantime it's 2:11 am on the down under east coast.

...I'm kinda glad I have Pokemon to keep me up. -
Quote:Doubt it. Training room 02 on Test has a rather... Eeeeenteresting little note when you try to access it. To cut to the quick, it says that the game's patch version isnt correct to log onto it. Even though Training room (01) can be accessed. The friends and family closed beta is most likely on an in house server. They wouldn't close the test servers for friends and family.
Odds are, Training room is for 17 betaing. Training room 02 for GR beta. -
Quote:...Paragon studios has never revealed what gets a person into closed beta, ever. That's a nice idea towards what they might do, but they've never come out and said 'People who break out game and tell us what's wrong get into the next beta.'There is also the matter, and I believe this has been directly stated by the Paragon Studios staff, that players who actually participate in beta testing, meaning they file bug reports, go looking for issues, ask what to test, get involved with making documented reports on the forums... these are the players who accounts will be flagged for inclusion in future beta events.
Players who simply join open beta, log a bunch of time in the game playing, but don't actually make any kind of bug report or effort to communicate what they experienced, won't get noticed for inclusion in future beta events.
The flawed logic there is, it'd create a group of people that always got into the beta because they're simply faster at noticing things and can type in detail. While it's nice to entertain this for several seconds. I'd assume that to be fair... The inclusion in Beta testing is a little more random.
The idea that 'Haha, you didn't find anything.' or 'People got to the bug faster than you.' making you inelligible for further betas is plainly... Stupid and mean. Just because you couldn't find anything wrong, even though you may have looked hard for any little bug... Suddenly discards you from being included in Closed betas in the future?
...Paragon Studios isn't stupid, nor are they nasty like that. -
Quote:Yeah, but the laws of the internet state 'The server will fail' and 'No one will have common sense.' So... Patience and slogging it out. It'll come up eventually. You realize that most of their fanbase is effectively DDOSing them, right? EVERYONE wants Dual Pistols, and they want them Right Now. I'm guessing that they weren't ready for the load, and that their servers are taking quite the beating... and that it won't stop anytime soon.
-Cayenne
...I'd go for that though. Secondary powerset for Melee classes. Common sense! -

Okay, pardon the loadout from Wikipedia.
Considering that i'm totaly taking Uzi in the game to be the full sized gun (and not the Micro or mini-uzi models) and the fact that a superhero should be able to hold their stance while firing dual guns of any type at speed (Neo, guy from equilibrium, etc) most of these are more 'Machine pistols' or 'Sub machine guns'
Starting off. I fully support the HK MP7 from previous posts as well as the MP5.
I'd also like to see the KG-99 because it really looks like a nice pistol.
That and the TDI KRISS pistol -
We're 2/3rds through January and I don't think anyone's brought this up yet. It's 2010 and with Going Rogue puffing along with a beta release Soon (tm) and five years behind a marvelous game... There's so much done already in our fair Paragon and our seedy Rogue islands over these last great years... Yet so much more to do and to come!
With all the presumed (Don't throw bricks at me! I want my rogues and graphics update!) awesomeness of Going Rogue coming along... Some of this might be outdated already by the Devs working hard on awesome stuff...
But, the pressing question is. What ideas you have would you like to see in this new decade for our fair cities?
Personally, I love the patron arcs villain side with the very idea that for one moment you've usurped the whole of Arachnos by killing Lord Recluse, then throwing him his helmet. The idea of in the end game, getting to the point where you're an unstoppable force is something I'd like to see... Some awesome storylines where you, mayhaps, get a buff that temporarily removes all game limiters, boosting health, regeneration, endurance and such to AV (Or above) levels. A storyline where you're fighting an enemy over something, gain said something then go on a warpath of good/destruction. A final battle with your new truly super abilities versus several AVs while you stand on their level for once.
What I mean, the rush of 'I have finally reached the end, I am a hero/Villain.' Technical difficulties sure with the engine as it is, but we've still got temp powers/zone powers. Maybe we could see them turned into some awesome battles.
On the subject of temp powers. Mayhem missions are awesome. Fact. The idea of stealing a longbow mech/Arachnodestroyer and running rampant through an enemy base for some fun fifteen minutes? That'd be fun too. Temp powers given by the map to change apearance (Maybe form shift like Kheldians do?) to give you some stompy, size changey, rockets and laser mayhem to the enemy.
My final idea revolves around the already implemented Paper/police scanner contacts and the mastermind minion system. While I adore playing as a hero and as a villain. (I wouldn't be here otherwise would I?) The problem I've encountered the most is... You're always someone's underling. The paper missions and police scanner are nice in the idea of you going on your own... But you still answer very physicaly to someone, be it a broker or a police captain. What I'd like to see... Are random objects scattered throughout the city/isles that give you special missions of your own construction. Storming a troll safe house with a squad of controllable Police for instance before running downtown to kick in a destructible door to save some poor hostage in a standoff with some council. Flipside, villains plotting their own doomsday machine, collecting some goons and marching through missions to collect up their parts. Eventually both get a reward (Of bonus exp, maybe a special power like a 'service issue revolver' or a costume set like say, Player designed council wear.) after a large battle for the city zone or island, to save it... Or to conquer it...
So! What would you like to see coming from the game these next ten years of heroics and villainy?
(Pardon the apparent newbieness. :P Long time player, long time forum shyness.) -
Agreed with Dispari.
The crossed arm jumps seem to be more natural for the showy style of the ninja run power for Dual pistols and Claws.
With the normal 'gull wing' jump it does seem like the claws could hurt someone by going into a dive move, but the crossed arms contain more 'awesome cinematic flair' with the picture of one dropping down to perform a Sweeping strike style slash with the claws or a gun kata style held sideways rain of lead from the pistols as soon as they land.
The crossed arms for Dual Pistols seems to suit the style of the new GR pistols, the flair that the character has spinning about Equilibrium style clearing the area just... Clicks with the crossed arm animation, it suits it much better than the 'Looks like i'm going to drop these things by accident' of the upside-down held jump.
