Earlier, I was playing my tank Incredible, and had a major DC with the TF I had just started. We were on the second mission of the Sister Psyche TF, and my power went out. I just now go it it back 2 1/2 hrs later.
I hope you were successful without me on the run guys. I wanted to let you know it wasn't intentional.

Quote:2000 ESTThis sounds like fun.
I have a few questions though.
What time on Mondays?
What alignment?
What AT is your fourth, so I don't double up?
Thanks.
Heroside,
I updated the list, He's a Defender... (I believe he's EMP/Rad, or Rad/Rad, it's REALLY late for me I work nights ::laughs:: )
I hope to see you come Monday. -
We had a wonderful first run with the Strike Force, managing to do the Weekly Strike Target, (ITF) and Synapse in a single night. However, we are 4 slots short of having a full weekly static team.
So Thanks to everyone who played with us last night, and to all our Regulars, Good Job!
Here's hoping we can keep it going next week and every week thereafter.
If your interested in joining us, please feel free to post here, send me a PM, or a message on Global @Enforcement. Strike Force Omega, doing what the City Needs, one Task at a Time.
Strike Force Omega, Liberties out... -
This is Armorplated, a cobbled together armor made by Prof. Josh Graves from Paragon University. It was put together during an emergency evacuation of his lab during a Rikti raid during which he and his graduate students did not manage to get through to the evac zone.
He and his students cobbled a suit which runs off the ambient body temperature of the user, and used it to try to make a run for safety. After losing two of his four graduates, he decided to become a full fledged hero.
((Registered as Science, as he is primarily a gadgetteer not a cyborg))
so if you have room, let me know I will do what I can to come play,I look forward to gaming with you all...
((PS: As I am @Enforcement, whatcha mean, That Guy... )) -
I am wanting some help with slotting and the IOs to build a Invun/Fire/Fire Tank. I am building primarially for survivability, and AOE damage. Influence is not a problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
This is the choices of powers I have made so far in Mids, but I havn't done any slotting yet...

That's what I keep hearing, and why I am trying to set up a "playdate" of sorts with some of you skilled players who have it down, to show me what I'm doing wrong.
I am willing to learn, I just need to figure it out I think.
I hope to see you there on Monday.

(@Enforcement, aka Liberties) -
Hey everyone,
I havn't had a lot of luck with the new Incarnate trials. I don't have a lot of regular teaming partners, but my Brute, Liberties, is feeling like tissue paper out there.
I was hoping someone could take me under they're wing here, and show me what I am doing wrong, or what I need to do to make it work out better, so I can get the BAF and Lambda Trials completed. I am willing to try it again, but am at 0/15 now, and it is a bit disheartening for a brute who has previously tanked Recluse in the Statesman's Task Force, Riechsman, and an Enraged Bobcat...
Please send me a PM here on the boards if you would be willing to have me along next Monday (next time I have a chance to sit down and play for a long period of time), and I will come by when you specify and try and lend whatever help you specify.
Thanks
Elvnsword -
I think this is the route I am going to take from here on with my Brute. I am tired of have a character that previously could stand up to Statesman and Lord Recluse at the same time (thank you Mission Architect), feel like he's made of toilet tissue.
So who wants to make a league of players for monday night teams. -
Quote:I am playing a game where my only way to interact with the game world is to type into the computer, and mash buttons to activate powers. I hate to put it that way, but honestly that's the only way I have to control my character.Everyone needs to stop complaining. Give it two weeks. Play it a few times, try some new ideas. Try new tactics. Try new team compositions. Just keep trying and don't do the same thing every time.
If you fail, then get up and try to do it the same way you failed but harder this time, you're going to do nothing but fail. Change it up. Adapt.
If you still feel this way in two weeks, then you can complain.
I am running these trials, a IOed out Brute, who until this I had thought was pretty tough. I had taunted Recluse in a STF, an enraged Bobcat, and even Tyrant at the end of the Maria Jenkins arc (before the retcon to that arc...). I simply no longer feel super playing my super hero. Hitting the ground with my face, is not my super power...
So when you tell everyone to stop complaining, No, frankly. This is unacceptably designed. It is MADE for the powers it is giving out. That is ridiculous. I could understand if it was difficult without an Alpha slot, or even almost impossible without one. But bosses capable of one shotting tanks, brutes and scrappers, before the defenders and controllers can heal them, completely negates both the damage they can do, and the defenses they are suppose to have. As well as the support the Defenders are suppose to provide, that is ridiculous. Designing the Raids to NEED the very powers they unlock is ludicrous, as it enforces a you will die a dozen times to earn this then perhaps it could be you can feel super again.
It isn't that we aren't communicating, It isn't that we aren't trying it time and time again. It's just that the damned 9cu and battle orbs have completely unreasonable, and deadly abilities so far beyond anything seen in the game so far they should be classed as AVs themselves. Now I love this game, I have played since the original beta, and consider myself a veteran player, but this, is simply to much. This design has negated the Super in Super Hero MMO, I feel like I'm playing Call of Duty, Die, respawn, try to make a dent, Die, respawn, try to make a dent, repeat...
This isn't a game where we come to play a game of face plant. and design that repeatedly makes us face plant isn't ok. This is a Super Hero MMORPG. So when we play we should feel like we are playing super heroes. Right now I feel like I am watching replays of my character getting curb stomped by 9CUs.
It is not even remotely fair to the Brutes, the Tankers, the Scrappers, the Masterminds, or the Defenders. Everyone else isn't fairing so well either...
Yes it has been completed. But the 9cus and Battle Orbs need a revamp, there is no reason, why a boss should be one shotting (ONE SHOTTING, something coding prevents me from doing to anything equal level to me...) a player!
My suggestion is to eliminate them as coded. Recode them as true bosses, without the scaling damage over time. The missions will still retain they're difficulty without being impossible. If they really must be uber difficult, then code them each with an EB per mob. No more of this boss level enemies one shotting PC players.
I cannot one shot a boss of 4 levels lower then me. I can't one shot a boss in Steel Canyon every single time. Yet these Bosses in this Trial can one shot me, Every Single Time... .25 seconds, I timed it... all toggles on, tier 9 running, (and by all toggles I do mean fighting pool too).
This isn't a matter of build, or a matter of poor communication, this is a matter of people having the very meat and bones of they're characters just ignored, by design, and that, well that is beyond frustrating to me. -
Yes, but the Nictus' heal didn't completely negate anyone's powers. a Tank's ability is: "The Tanker can take it and dish it out all at once. The Tanker primarily can absorb vast amounts of damage, and hold his own in a fist fight. But the Tanker lacks any long range punch. The Tanker would prefer just to charge straight ahead anyway." Frankly, in the BAF, they can't take it, they simply face plant... it's ridiculous...
-
No but at the same time if I have earned that defense, and those powers I shouldn't see it just taken away by design. The new enemies as presented in these trials, ESPECIALLY the 9cus are ridiculously powerful. They are dropping tanks so fast we CAN"T DO OUR JOBS. That is what we are complaining about. We are suppose to be able to soak up damage. To take the beating. that's why we don't deal the amounts of damage that a scrapper, or blaster does, but in these trials we are face planting faster then the defenders can heal us.
Thats why your hearing complaints... -
What happened to the server merger that was suppseo to come up with i20?
My server list sill only has the NA Servers. Is there something wrong with my client?
Thanks,
Elvnsword -
Perhaps your right, I should give it more time, but honestly, I have played this as many times as I could squeeze in since the servers came up without a SINGLE success. Judgement was the shiny for me, and I am feeling sincerely let down that the design policy of CoH, respect that we are dealing with Super Heroes, is out now. We're getting pwned... and not in a fun, this is a game kind of way. We are getting ONE SHOTTED .25 seconds to death, no saving the TANK from death when you have an Empath Defender on the team.
::sighs:: but your right, balance will come in time. -
GAH,
I went to delete to under utilized lowbies to create new toons today to sate my altitis and NOW I CAN"T !!!! What devilry is this. What's more now I have locked slots on my Virtue server, that's not right, I havn't had locked slots on Virtue since 2008! -
I have now ran the BAF trial in enough times to see this as more then just faulty playing, or some failing on my part. It is also NOT my build, or a glitch inherent to my character or AT, as I have tested my character against both Rikti Pylons, and other end game content. My brute, SS/Inv, is soft capped for defense, and is able to stand toe to toe with Statesman, Rikti Pylons, and even run taunt defense against Lord Recluse in the STF. What I cannot do however is last more the .25 seconds against the 9CUs employed by Siege.
This is how a BAF usually plays out for a group I am in, pass the initial section, yea, no brainer, beat down the chick robot, yea no problem, stop the prisoners, it's a chore but it CAN Be done, defeat Siege, we usually manage it the first time.
Ah here is the hiccup, EVERY time we get Siege and Nightstar in the tennis court, we are attacking them, using AOEs to control the numbers of they're spawning backups, however, not all of Siege's backup report to the Tennis court, some report to his spawn point, untill he sets foot off that court, then they come running.
the 9CU has a time based scale on they're damage, the longer they are active the more damage they do. So these sleeper agents, come in and wipe out Brute, and Tank alike before an empath healer can say, Healzors!
This, is unacceptable. I understand these are suppose to be Harder content. and I accept that it is meant to be difficult. But when you have fully slotted, soft capped defense based toons dropping in the time it takes to take a breath WITH UNSTOPPABLE running... well we might as well not bother turning them on.
Add to this the Alpha slot bug, and you have a situation that is unbearable to be playing a Tank or Brute in.
I for one, am tired of failing this trial, and sadly it seems the only way to earn Incarnate XP for the Judgment slot, something the Devs said they would NEVER do was enforce a certain way of playing. Looks like that has gone out the door. The message is clear, grind, if you want the shiny, and it's a painful, hideous, losing grind at that. We don't get to win... -
With the announcement today that I20 will launch tomorrow, we have every reason to believe we will begin this next Monday. Please get a hold of me asap to obtain a spot in the group.
We will not be running these missions as "Speedy TFs" we will be reading, and sharing the read, at the very least. This is to experience the game as well as get the badges, influence, and Incarnate salvage.
Thanks much

I have been watching for something like this idea to be made on the boards for awhile. It is something that I thought was so simplistic it would come to someone else in short order.
But... It hasn't so here I am having to do the legwork
I am officially forming Strike Force Omega, tasked with moving through each Task, and Strike force challenge the game has to offer... As a Static Team, we will be meeting once a week, (Mondays works best for me, and I'm organizing)
Due to the nature of the beast of Task Force play I suggest that everyone have a toon at 40 or higher to join this group. I repeat that we are waiting for Issue 20 to release so that those who are Alpha enabled can receive Incarnate drops throughout the span of the adventures.
This group will be RP friendly but not enforced.
If you want in, post here, contact me in game @Enforcement, or PM Me.
Name Level AT Global
1. Liberties 50 Brute @Enforcement
2. Doll Girl 48 Blaster (Global held for Perms)
3. Archangel Mycheal 40 Tank (@Mycheal)
4. Doctor (I can't remember!!) 50 Defender (Global Held)
5.
6.
7.
8.
I have an active SG base available for transit purposes, and a global channel set up for this group already. Please get ahold of me with any questions.
We start with Positron Monday after I20 releases...

Ok, I have watched the video, and minus the chopchop connection on occasion, and unfortunate side affect of Ustream... and running ANYTHING else that connects to the internet on your network,
Lore slot getting other pets, Good
Temp Powers not available in the new trials, the justification given, was not valid. "you get them in a specific mission and should use them there" does not apply to the 3 most commonly used temps, Shivans, Warburg Nukes, and Poisoned Knives, all of which are either earned in PVP, not Missions, or crafted, which by definition is earned outside of missions. Thus I must conclude that the agruement that the was used to justify the removal of the powers is flawed. (Not to mention A LOT of people use those powers as integral parts of they're builds, or as intergral parts of they're story... such as a certain shield scrapper I know who uses the Energy Torrent clone temp power you can craft, can't remember the name, as his shield being thrown...)
I am very happy with the new content, minus Lore as it is released (since Praetorian enemy groups are completely out of sync with EVERYTHING I have on my account story wise), but if your gonna justify something, learn from highschool debate teams, make an arguement that can fight its way out of a wet paper bag. -
I have a silverback gorilla named Kongcrete...
no seriously... -

It sucks. If they stay on this path it will kill what makes this game special. Raiders have Hami raids. Let them do that.
to use your own argument, we're paying for the same piece of cake. I am in the middle on this, I am both a team player, and a soloer. My main made it to 50 by soloing almost exclusively, but now that he is fifty, yet I have other characters which exist TOO team. As such I feel I have a rather unique perspective, or perhaps a more common one. I feel that it is important to get solo content into the game, I can almost without a doubt, guarantee you aren't among the badgers who have ran ALL the solo content, so there are THREE raids now, the Hami Raid, the Mothership Raid, and now this, for those with heavy team mentality to run. Yet you fault them getting this when you have not stopped and smelled the roses on your own content yet. If it is such an objection to you, make solo friendly MA arcs that actually have story, and depth.
There are a million and one things to do in this game, and you will keep advancing doing all of them thanks to our Devs brilliant foresight in allowing us to attain shards while exempted. Now, I for one, am gonna go out and catch some badguys,
******* END RANT ****** ***** END RANT *******
@Enforcement, Signing Out -
my new toon, Incredible, SS/Invun Tank from 1-22 in one day... I love dbl XP!
-
I got it day one, for the first time ever...
I am please to say, Fallen Liberties is now 50 (+1) -
Well it was a normal day, we were enjoying American Legion's weekly costume contest, when someone had to open they're mouth and mention Zombies...
Of course as we all know, mentioning zombies is bad, they will show up when you least expect it to ruin your day, especially when you mention them...
as the zombies attacked they, ((nor the server)) were ill-prepared for our wrath as we rained fire, ice, and various blunt objects at them. We fought for nearly 15 minutes before the world ended, then as suddenly as it ended restarted and we all came back to finish the contest...
Long story short, amazing costume contest guys, so happy to have been a part of it, and frankly put... We CRASHED ATLAS 0.0!!!!
