I don't know where you asked about Stonewall Jake's visual origin, but I immediately thought of the scene in Purple Rain where Morris Day is vacuuming the floor in a doo-rag. I couldn't find that, but did find
this which might have also led to your thinking the pose is a subliminal catch. -
