I guess I can understand where the Dev's are coming from. If you have work to do and I am sure someone else is dictating what is on the priority lists... then you just have to focus on what your job is.
That said, here is some food for thought:
1. Post i13 there was a mass exit of players who really only played because of PvP. A customer is a customer and I would think that a company should be looking to satisfy ALL their customers. There really is truth that the game is mostly PvE now because most of the PvP'rs quit.
2. I play this game for the sole purpose of PvP. I actually find having to grind through the PvE content annoying. Its much less annoying when running with some buddy's and shooting the breeze on Skype but still annoying. And I know for a fact that I am not the only one that feels this.
3. Farms... quick track to level 50... I honestly can not think of ANY reason to even WANT to farm your toon so fast other than to get a fast 50 for.... you guessed it! PvP! and yet there is SO much farming going on. "Things that make you go hmmmmm"
4. I *COULD* just go play another game. Why don't I? I guess because I am just set in my ways and once I get used to doing something a certain way I get resistant to change. So I stick with CoH for now. While there could be some improvements to both the PvP and PvE aspects of the game, it still works and is entertaining. Just because it doesn't work the way WE want it to doesn't mean it can't be fun. And plus now it can even be played for free so being as broke as I am I can still escape reality and don't have to drain my pocket to do it... and who ever came up with that model I can't thank them enough!!!! Its the perfect balance of either playing for free and getting stuff like badge hunting out of the way, springing $5 for points to buy an IO and Auction house license and being full out VIP when I can. -
*bump* What he said: lol
I have played KM/WP and KM/Regen but with out the fancy IO's all my toons just suck. I was prety good at PvP until the purple sets came along. And now that the PvP sets exist I just dont seem to stand a chance. -
Are there any pages out there on how to slot while going through the process of leveling? Specificaly for an electric/shield scrapper. At level 20 now. Is it worth even bothering with IO's at all?
-
while we are on the subject... just how the hell do you get one of those IO's anyway? If I understand correctly, you have to defeat another player... but when and where? Do they only drop in zones? Do you have to do it in RV or can you get them in SC as well? Does your toon have to be level 50 to begin with.. Oh hell.. is there just a thread on the whole thing Im missing???

Can this be done?
Lets hypotheticaly say I am writing an X-files arch (it really is hypothetical). Lets also say that in one of my missions, agent Molder is kidnaped by the Smoking man. The objective is to free Molder FROM the smoking man. Can this be done and if so how? The story I am working on has SEVERAL Defeat such and such to Free/rescue Idiot that got captured. So far the only way I can find to do this is to create a custom group to surround the captive but then for anyone to gain xp for doing it, there have to be all 4 of the types in the group and you never know what is going to spawn in the group. Also, in some cases there are more than one named boss that need to be defeated to capture the captive (ie Save cinderella from her 3 evil step sisters).
thanks in advance. -

I like mayhem missions, but not enough to do 100 of them. What's the best way to take down more signature heroes?

Best way to defeat heroes is to farm an ultra low level mayhem. I have 3 accounts so It was easy for my lvl 50. Just got the lowest mayhem from my alt lvl 10, left the owner toon out side while I ran through with my lvl 50. Look up Mayhem Missions in the wiki and it tells you how to farm them. Make sure you have a good amount of time with no interuptions because even though it can be farmed you do still have clocks to contend with. Luckily I had already done a whole mess of meyhams while on teams so I didnt have that many. IF your starting from a low number I would say just farm it maybe 10 times or until you get sick of it and work on it over time. It took me about 2 hrs to get the final 15 hereos I needed. Incidentaly you can farm for the arsen badge at the same time.
