Thanks Bama. i've had seven jello shots at a clip, so i know what its about i just don't know how to add channels like that.

I'll try to catch you in-game or you can catch me @bamawolfie.

It's easy to join Jello Shooters and myself or someone else will give ya' an invite or instruction (I'm no' good at telling how)

    Lowbie villians?

You can also try Jello Shooters channel too, Turlough. Be warned though, the conversation there is much more adult and often ribald.

Edit: But JS is also a lot of fun, drama, silliness, friendliness and craziness.

    Tis the Season

We donate to our local food pantry. There are so many PEOPLE out of work and honestly, going hungry... these days. We feel like it is the place to donate. I, personally, promote local food banks and charities, so you are truly giving to your community.

Child's Play is an awesome group as well.

Ooo... >.> o.O <.< ... I also suggest a local organization for donating Christmas gifts for children, or adopting families. RUN AWAY RUN AWAY from the Salvation Army!

Thank you Janlee. Thank you Arion. Thank you Grey. Thank you Blazing Blue.

Thank you Warface. Thank you Severan. Thank you Ice9.

Thank you to all those who have served, that I did not know about personally.

Thank you to all who have served, do serve and will in the future.

My Dad's an old soldier. I admire him, and y'all greatly!

    *salutes*
  5. I gonna buy a metric butt-load.

Haven't got them yet, but Soon(TM)
  6. Absolutely, Demon. There are a lot of people, once harangued once or twice in Atlas (or Mercy or Cap) don't ask again... yet still struggle.

This was my first MMO and I played for months and often had a hard time, until I met my first experienced players and got in a really good SG. These people mentored and guided me. Taught me how to enhance my toon. Show me little tricks and taught me about the different ATs. Yes, there is a lot I learned on my own and just by playing, but these people made the game SO much more enjoyable. Enough that I'm still here 4 years later.

There is definately something to be said for "personal service". Having someone or a group of someones you can go to and ask questions and not be made to feel stupid. Which happens often enough with the general populace (broadcast) in the game (and most games).

Offering a newbie SG and VG and offering a GROUP* of mentors to help you just reminds me of those early days when I had help and how much fun it was.

    * I think there should be a POOl of mentors and not "assigned" one-on-one. I do agree with FD in that we need as little beauracracy (sp?) as possible. A group of mentors to help and advise with the superleader advocate (1 each red & blue side)... but that's just me.

What do we do when that happens, or what can we do to prevent that from happening?

Or do we do anything at all?
Can't get away from political correctness anywhere.

That's like asking what if one big brother gives his little brother more than one of the big sister's is giving her little sister (IE: Big Brother's/Big Sister's organization). It's up to the individual's discretion.

As much as we, as a whole, don't like it... LIFE IS OFTEN UNFAIR.

Besides, if all someone's after is the loot, what good are we doing them anyway?
  8. On another Note... Elric, your avatar is HIGHLY disturbing! O.O
  9. A friend has offered up his Villain Group, Coma White, as a coalition group on the red side.

Would this be a "thankyougoodbye+patontheback" with perhaps a "grad ceremony"?
A "graduating ceremony" where they go from student to mentor, perhaps?

Do we give them, in turn, the opportunity to help others while remaining in the group? Anyone who has done teaching or tutoring will know that you never learn as much about a topic as when you have to teach it to someone else.
    This is an EXCELLENT idea.

And I think it's needed, both red side and blue side. Red side, particularly, seems to have predatory VGs who do little to assist new players. There are more people blue side, it seems to me.

I'd be happy to offer up Age and Treachery on the red side as a coalition for use of base teleporters. You'll probably be over run with offers blue side... but will offer Hostile Justice if needed.

    I agree with this Panzer.

The SuperLeader would be the new player advocate and champion. His solel purpose is simply to oversee how things are going and to champion the new players/lowbies.

Then the leaders would be the mentors.

The bottom three ranks could be reserved for the new players, giving them the reward of promotion as they learn and come up through the ranks until such time as THEY are willing to be mentors and help players newer than themselves. Paying it forward, so to speak.

I think building a brand spankin' new SG & VG for this is wise as well. The new players will have an investment in their group this way, which would also give them an investment to moving up to the mentor position whent he time comes. As stated, these groups could coalition with established groups for use of base teleporters, etc.

I look forward to seeing how this works out.
  12. However, in my mind, the SuperLeader's role is simply that of being a new player advocate between the mentors and newbies. His or her only requirement being to make sure everything is running smoothly, and to be there for the newbies until they aren't newbies anymore, to advocate if there is some disagreement or problem.

I think Stalemate would be the PERFECT person to be the SL and be the New Player (not mentor) advocate.

That player would act as more of a director of the project than a direct mentor themselves. Problems among mentors and mentees could be escalated to that player who would have to then be willing to make decisions.
    That is an EXCELLENT idea!
  15. Nice Red!!! Verra nice! I REALLY like Maleficent!
  16. My experience in the past is that people are more than willing to assist and/or mentor new players WITHOUT an incentive gain.

While I could see someone going "Okay, I'll do this... but can you guys help me do so and so?" I could see that happening. But requiring some payment/incentive to help?

Speaking ONLY FOR MYSELF (meaning, it's my OPINION) I'm not sure I'd want anyone mentoring that I had to pay to do it. Somewhere in my brain, that's like paying someone to join "Big Brothers, Big Sisters".

I thought he was looking for VOLUNTEERS?

    *shrugs*

Edit: And, I think, even bringing paid mentors to light makes us all look bad. Makes us all look greedy. But again, that's just my opinion.

    I'ma hush now.

    Genercization!!

Well, DANGIT Jan!!! That's just MEAN! *curiousity eats away at da' Wolfie*

Grey.... this. Don't give anyone that much power.

I'M THE ONE STAR BANDIT!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA
  22. Well, all the crybabies should be happy now.

I don't see why it even matters. If it was such a big deal, and supposed to be a "forum game"... and it's being abused, why not just remove it. Because, anyone with enough friends can have a sky-high green rep.

*shrugs* But, that's just my opinion.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll turn mine back on so maybe I can haz red dotz instead of greenz.

    o.O

After thinking about it: I just don't understand why anyone would give a faceless (or not) person on the forums that much power in their life, to make them so unhappy about little red and green dots.
