Btw, Demon's way of examining arena history via patch notes is very smart. Almost every change (after the initial chaos of organized PvP teams) in the patch notes directly changed the optimal lineups in some way or another. Ice blasters replaced with fire blasters was a big one. IO's, of course. When blaster unresistible damage was reduced, 2-sonic teams became unstoppable with tons of damage resistance. Immediately blasters began getting swapped with extra rad/psy's for more debuff and the psy damage. Now you guys get to figure out i12.

lol I still remember my first practice with another team when I joined JAL. It was NDX - I was checking builds and even putz had veng lol...you guys lost one and boom veng was a going...5, 6 stacked and we were dropping like flies..lol...you were like the veng gather masters XD.

At FOL we also practiced vengeance stacking after we saw how effective it was, but we rarely got more than 3 or 4. I tip my hat to the NDX folks. They truly mastered the art of vengeance gathers. I remember that at first when NDX got to test server, we would win most practice rounds against them, but as time went on, and they got their stuff together, we were on the losing end more often than not, and usually by significant margins. I remember Ownage going rogue a lot, and tearing up the house.

Honestly I started the bad boys crap and to think about it yeah we dont trash talk much or cause drama. We do practice and play hard though. When I thought it up I guess I really didn't look at it like that. Now Skull drinks talks trash swears and what not but ZI really never notice cause hes muted alot of the time lol

I think Fire Assailant was his name, I dueled him with my storm/psy which while it has alot of IOs isnt completely purped out the way i would have it on test. I also beat a fire/em on Infinity with my WP/EM tank whether he was any good I dunno, I wouldn't say Im good on my tank though. Theirs a variety of builds that can handle dual phased IOed blasters. Not all of them are fotms, but none of them are gimped builds any pvper would think about bringing.


I think you have tunnel vision, in that something you dueled with was once viable against these blasters isnt anymore. Well let be tell a quick parable. When I used to duel with my mind/FF troller back in the good old days I could kill a regen with IH up and or dual phased ice tank by popping some reds. Then came the triple containment nerf to just double with no debuffs/pet to make the damage I was unable to scratch out my 1-0 victories I used too. IOs and all the plus recharge came out and exacerbated the problem even more. Same with Doms, I used to beat the shi*t out of Iroxor on his fire/fire dom with my mind/bub like scores would be 8-0, boom Doms get their mez/repel buff and the matches turn into the same score just he has the 8 and I have the 0 I also know the same dominator will fall to any rad played decently.

I don't buy a mediocre player on a dual phased IOed out blaster can destroy 99% of the people/builds out there on . They can just destroy your poison mm which you said you squeaked by on before.

Do use perma tk snowstorm?

Before the Defiance 2.0 buff they were a good dueling toon but could be handled with skill and precision. Now I don't know who you duel or what you duel with but a good /em blaster will give you a 20 second window to kill him. During that 20 seconds you have to deal with Aim, Build up, 2 boost ranges, around 30-40% damage and 1500+ hit points, and around 120% or so recharge which equal 2-3 shotting squishes.

Defender TK and double phase? Maybe just remove em as whole be cool to see some other toon duel blade tank or stalker. Fire/cold just as good as the others.

That would be alot of fun. And to be honest a good duelist on a gimp toon would still stand a chance against some nub on a semi fotm toon. Id be up for doing this.

As much as I love dueling its pretty much dead on the high end. I respeced my blaster for pvpec into duel phase and did one duel vs Ajax ice/rad and tied him in my first 1on1 with that build. I took my MM into a few DP defiance 2.0 duels and where i was able to hang and win most of them I have gotten pretty much slaughtered by the new blasters. I really think a DP purple blaster trumps 99% of the builds out there if played not well but just ok. The only thing out there that can compete with something like that is my purple stalker which I only pull out vs purp DP blasters. If theres gonna be a duel ladder I think ruling on having 1 phase in your build may change things and make the ladder a lot of fun for many kinds of ATs. We are supposed to be dueling not phasing and hybernoobing 90% of the match are we not? Again if DP is your thing do it i cant stop you but I really think dueling is terrible right now with blaster and recharge changes. Im sure ill get a few cry more please responses from some noobs if so look me up @Maximum or @darkmaster on test and we wont duel well phase and hibernate all for 10 min.
