  1. Thanks for the update folks.

The scattering effect was the biggest complaint about back in the day - but then I mostly solo so it will make a fair "oh god get away from me" button.
  2. I am newly back to the game and looking to respec my blaster so that he works again. This char is primarily played solo and in PvE.

After reading a lot of threads here I came up with this:

It is (nearly) soft-capped for range and is fairly close for s/l while still retaining most of the firepower I've historically had. I don't like losing char and bonfire - both thematically and functionally - but that seems well worth it to gain the def bonus from scorpion shield (I just hope it doesn't mess up my costume too much).

Any feedback or suggestions on how to make this better would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I have been away from the game for a while. When I left, Rain of Fire (RoF) was the worst power a fire blaster could take. Now that I'm back, every build I can find has it and I was wondering what changed?

Is it the constant ticks giving chances for a Proc to go off? Or is there some other thing that made this power takable again?

I respec'd out of years ago but am looking to respec again to bring myself up to date with changes in the game.

    Thanks for your help,

    Y.
  4. Hello All,

I have been out of the game for a little over a year and am trying to respec this 50 out of fitness. This is what I came up with. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    I primarily play solo, pve.

  5. They tried Vivox in EvE and it flopped. People opted out of it en-mass.

How does it affect me if they bring this in and I don't want to use it?

    - Additional UI clutter that I can't get rid of which does nothing in game for me. In EvE, every window has vivox controls on it even if you have opted out of it.

    - Developers trying to pump it by holding their live chats using vivox. If you want to listen to the chat, you have to opt in.

    - Lag. it's part of the client (or is in EvE) and thus generates additional lag.

    - Integration: If your client crashes you lose your voice coms. This isn't as bit a deal in a game like CoH but it was a major problem in EvE.

    - People who want to chat with their friends without being in game can't.

Oh, and don't forget the attempt to increase subscriptions by $5 a month to cover the cost of Vivox. That caused so much hue-and-cry that they eventually relented and the "10 day free trial" never expired.

Adding Vivox to the client is a bad idea. Hopefully CoX learns from everybody else's bad mistakes.

  6. I'd like to see the columns fixed so that they display the correct information and sort properly.

Right now "last on" sorts alphabetically instead of by date and "Joined" shows the same date as "Last on"

    Boss Changes

    [ QUOTE ]

Some people are unable to read between the lines. When Indigo told me that the Malta were going to be guarding a hideout with some "pretty heavy firepower" I knew there were going to be multiple Zeus Class Titans in the mission in addition to the named boss.

    [/ QUOTE ]

On the other hand, when the contact says "Search for clues regarding..." and does not say to take help I dont' expect to find 3 fake nemisis standing around.

    Boss Changes

    [ QUOTE ]
Because of your feedback, I'll have someone on our team look at the number of bosses in missions from levels 1 to 50. I don't mind later missions perhaps including a greater % than earlier missions (if only because players are more powerful and have made friends with others), but your posts want me to doublecheck the exact numbers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's great to hear because I regularily get 2-3 bosses in 3/4 of the missions that I get - and that is not fun for a blaster.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Can anyone name a zone where you get spawns of only 2-3 minions at 35+? No? Alrighty then. Lets not even talk about the problems AR/Dev have with Lethal resistance...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Founders Falls.

I frequently see single warwolves or a vamp + 2 minions or 2-4 minions etc.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
in the mid 20's I just do missions when I feel like soloing with the new xp pump at the end missions seem like "how" to solo know.

As for street soloing I don't have many more challenges as far as damage to death on mobs but then again I don't play an AoE blaster so I always had to be on the move and my fights typically took more than 10 seconds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I do play an AoE blaster and I have no problems with the post Issue 2 game. I always did more missions than street hunting anyways but even street hunting is still just as survivalable as it was.

Yes, Warriors now shoot back - like everybody else did. Yes, Tsoo throw caltrops. So what? I can still kill just as many yellows and whites as I did before and just as quickly. Orange and red minions take a little longer but they should not be easy anyway.

Ltns? I don't notice any difference in their toughness - aside from new powers. I've put 4 lvls onto my blaster since the update and I'm nearly to 30 now so I have been playing quite a bit.

Perhaps I just don't see the problem, perhaps there is no problem?
