That explains why "The Golden Age Secret of the Paragon Society" is no longer a playable arc. I'm guessing "A Hero in Need...is a Friend Indeed!" is dead due to the use of Statesman and "The Ms. Manners TF" died because of the custom Fusionette.

While I agree that is a short sighted design flaw, equally short sighted is the lack of at least monthly new DCs and a reevaluation of HoF. This oversight is absolutely having a negative effect on MA authors and players.

I still get people asking me for sequels to my arcs or just new arcs, but even though I had started work on another "The Golden Age Secret to the Paragon Society" arc (you get to fight along side the original members through the decades) I stopped work on it since I know I'm never going to be able to publish it.

Despite being a very visible long time promoter/supporter of all things MA, despite the arc being listed over a dozen times in all three the "Suggestions for DC" thread, despite it winning Best Heroic Arc of 2010. despite the arc being rated at 5 stars since the day it was published, now with over 300 plays, plus many extremely positive reviews on the forums, not a single developer has taken the less than an hour it would take to play it. To me, this is a clear message that MA, like bases and to a lesser extent pvp is in the "very low priority" bin for the devs. It's sad and I wish it was not the case, but it seems pretty clear to be the case. Color me totally disappointed.

I know that the issues with HoF not being addressed and the lack of new DCs can be seen as my personal frustration. However the fact that there is currently a farm in HoF and page 4 is almost 50% arcs with names with "farm and PL" in them can not be dismissed as easily and they are another indicator of total lack of caring by the powers that be.

Who exactly is advocating "handing out 5 star ratings like candy" Not me that's for sure. All I'm pointing out is the limitations of the current rating system and that people are deluding themselves if they think that the ratings actually mean what they say they do (i.e. 4 stars = Excellent). As I have said from the get go, rate anyway you want, just don't kid yourself into thinking that the current broken system is reflecting the rating as you may want it to do.

Stop right there and let me amend my final state to read:

What you think/want/feel or your opinion of how it should work does not impact how the system actually processes the ratings.

It's not feeding false information or "gaming the system" at all. Again, the system is BROKEN and unfortunately rating an arc anything less than 5 stars will reduce it's chance of getting played. If the system was working as it was intended to work a 4 star rating would mean excellent, but with the current system you are casting a vote against that arc being played by others. I am assuming that is generally not the intent of people rating an arc 4 stars.

I don't think you understand how "Make It or Break It" works.

I think that's because it takes minimal effort more than anything else.

What he said. MA and the people were the only things that kept me hooked. I was pretty much ready to bail when MA revitalized the game for me. Now, with no arc slots, no way to get more and the clear message that MA is not a priority to the devs, my game time is minutes a week if that. As it stands now with no new content of interest to me and almost a year with no arc slots, I have no plans to renew my subscription when it comes due in a couple of months.
