It's been an hour... nobody knows? I was really hoping to get this new version of the program out by tonight, and this is the only thing holding me up. And no mods are listed online to tell me either...

I'm adding that length limiter, or trying to, but I can't figure it out. I already posted a request in Player Questions, but 7 views no responses in the last half hour.... does ANYONE know what the fourm length limit is???

Hey there, I'm working on the next version of FOE (see my signature), and I'm adding an optional "input length limiter" for anyone that wants to limit their input to either the max length of a forum post or a signature.

The question I have for you all, ASAP please, is WHAT IS is the max length of a forum post? The sig is 300, but what's the max forum post length? I tried to figure it out for myself by taking my longest guide and pasting it twice, but every time I try to post something THAT long, it times out, which is new. Every other time I've ever tried it, it's actually accepted the post, but then cut it off after that "limit marker".

So, what's the limit, anyone know?

That should be easy enough to do. Consider it added to the next version.

There IS a post size limit, but no I don't know what that is right now. I DID reach it with one of my posts, so I'm sure it would be ridiculously easy to find that out. FOE does not currently limit the text size, it's unlimited, but I can add a feature "option" that can limit it to the max post size if there is enough interest in the feature.

Another feature nearly identical would be a limiter so that you could write SIGNATURES the proper size... would anyone like that?

I like Force Bubble just for the fun factor, and every time I used it, I would shout out: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!!!" dramatically.

I had the opinion from the beginning that MA shouldn't award any experience. I think that the MA should have existed just to allow people to create creative missions with interesting story lines. That the MA should have been in the game strictly for fun. The ticket system was still a good idea. If they did this from the beginning people would have still enjoyed the MA. Other groups would still be alive as well and even farmers would have been pleased (farming tickets/badges.)

There's those that disagree but this is my opinion. I don't think that the game is dying but I honestly believe that would have caused a lot less issues.

Interesting, I tried to troubleshoot a "bug" with the color Alice Blue showing up in forum posts as white, but showing up in the preview box as a shade of blue. I thought I'd screwed up the code somehow.

But I didn't. I went over to Forum Color Guide by Golden Ace and took a look. It looks like the FORUMS don't accept Alice Blue as a proper color.... but it does show up in VB as a good color. Strange, it's such a pretty color.... it's a shame.

I see this as a positive shift back towards "casual" play, and away from the MMO "grind". I don't see a problem here. Anything that allows me to feel as if my game is a GAME rather than a part time job is fine with me.

Anyone notice anything different?

As I have not played the set in months, and from recent posts it's obvious my knowledge of the set is starting to slip, I figured it was time to finally kill that last part.

I had made a "signature" that people could put at the end of their posts to advertise the program if they choose to, but it looks like even IN the "pre-rendered code" tag, it still registers colors! Probably to allow people to comment on code and point out parts of it. Anyways, so I still made the "signature" if anyone wants to use it, but I added a * inside each of the color tags before the word color. If you copy this, save it as a text file and remove those asterixes and the line breaks, it should work just fine to paste. If you DO decide to use it, please make sure to only use it in posts actually edited with FOE. We don't want to spam ads in posts that weren't even written with the program!
