If you're predicating your entire existence on the expectations of some random gaggle of internet jackanapes, then be forewarned they'll likely be disappointed. This is the sort of thing you do for yourself, really; you'll never convince a random PUG of your 'support' value regardless of your secondary.
As far as how 'bad' it is, until SO's or a decent IO slotting it's a lot like running a Controller. Pre-Containment. Afterwards it's a lot more in line with soloing a Defender, but your buffs, heals, debuffs and so on will always be at a disadvantage to a Corruptor's or Defender's.
The monkey wrench in all of this is that there are neither archery Corruptors nor Poison anything-but-Masterminds, but if your concept's not enough to make actually playing your character as stated fun for you, you should alter your concept to include pets. I don't think it should be that hard - it's never hard for a 'support' type to explain why he has troops.
(My 2 inf - and yes, I played a petless Mastermind all the way to 50 and enjoyed the hell out of it.)
(Also, now I wonder if the name 'Internet Jackanape' is taken anywhere. He'd have to be a Stalker. Huh...) -
There was that time I (Emp/Electric) and a Controller (Ill/Rad) duo'd the Mender Silos TF.
No nukes, no Shivans. The Jade Spider was a purple AV. -

Just wait until ""Enoby" Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way" gets her mitts on the mission builder! -

The goth-ified HP gang is a bit mind-breaking, too.

Your mind is not broken yet.
... It was the first thing I thought of. Perhaps I spend too much time on the Intertubez.
I don't do Rickrolls, by the way.
You may wish I had. -

While we're derailing, anyone remember that pilot scott bakula was in where he turned into half/man half/robot. That had potential.

Infiltrator.
According to IMDB: "A scientist creates a teleportation device. While experimenting, he beams himself into another scientists experimental artificially intelligent space exploration device, which gets absorbed into his molecules. Now, whenever he is in danger, he transforms into a armored super cyborg. As a result, he is recruited as a secret agent"
Hold on, updating my bio... -

Hmm...happen to remember the old show about the computer-generated guy that could come out into the real world (As some kind of solid hologram or something), but only at night?

Yes, it's one of those lists. Make up a movie soundtrack for one of your characters. Tell his/her/its/their/etc. story with music! Like this:
Character Theme/Opening Credits: Darkspace - Dark 1.1
Introduction/Waking Scene: Prurient - Shoestring
Getting Geared Up: Nimheil - Factory Scream
Pursuit/Evasion: Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Fight Scene 1: Boris - Shoot Up and Die
Agony/Terror: Nimheil - Gazing Into Infinite Madness
Defeat: Teargas & Plateglass - The Rain Falling on Ann's Grave
Sidekick's Theme: Massive Attack - Angel
Betrayal: Boris - Rattlesnake
Fight Scene 2: Meshuggah - obZen
Victory: Minas Morgul - Innocent Flesh
End Theme: Prurient - I Wonder If I'll Be Able To Sleep
Credits: Professor Fate - The Gates of Hell -
I think you're right; it will be less time and trouble to make models from scratch. Forget I brought it up.

Noone expects a baby sale!
... how much are you charging? I haven't bought a baby since I went off Atkins, so I'm not sure what the going rate is anymore. -

I'm not sure how you'd do this in the character builder. Maybe the new issue 12 costume options will make it easier, though.

Lurikeen Nightshade here. For two years or so! Poison, DW and Blades.
Never trained one point in stealth.
This was on Gaheris. I loved that character; I -still- love that character. Without her I'd be playing Civ 4 or something now.
But in this game, the closest match is probably a DB scrapper. -
The Axe is very useful for scrappers other than possibly Spines, and for Assault Rifle blasters, who won't be using it in their normal attack chain but would otherwise have extra trouble with undead.
The incorporeal CoT ghosts in particular are a real pain for folks who do mostly (or all!) Lethal and Smashing damage.
