No worries beks just turn up to the spawn area, so long as i can get even 3 more peeps with the crimson arc that will make ten at least, would love more but will go with what we can get.
-
Awesome work Pious, was a great night, the vids have come out really well too, and that surprise rumble was a riot :P
Hats off to ya matey -
Well speaking to sal online the general agreement is that we want a zone low enough that we can get most players involved, but also need a space thats big enough to spawn them, add to the fact that I dont want this to ruin anyone else just "passing through" hence why I suggested perez lake, that or boomtown.
As for when, well that depends on how many people we can get to set up the arcs, (already set up war and Eros' this morning - and i know lightnia is ready too) once that is done I can announce a date, timewise im thinking of a saturday/sunday in the afternoon, but for this I need more feedback so we can gauge when is the best time for everyone to make it.
After that its a case of posting on MOTD of the various channels, and arranging with the mission holders where to set up, and we have a titan-fest to go nuts with. -
Lol cheers bud, tbh im only doing what has been done before, I just want it on a larger scale, people are saying about lack of events...others have noted lack of challenges...and me?...well I just like doing anything that seems inherently stupid-yet marvellous from the outset
Plus its a chance to show the nay-sayers that our community spirit is far from dead...something I feel strongly about.
(ive had a fair few pms atm and this could shape up to be something memorable...just think of the screenies)

Ok so this came up in our SG team as we were finishing a bugged Sewer trial, how fun would it be to spawn a kronos titan alongside another GM? seeing as how they can be dropped easy with a good team, why not make a challenge and drop more?....So the chat went over to Sals badgehunters and we ended up having a get together in FF spawning 3 titans no less, with only 2 teams we took them down in rapid succession (thanks to Fulcrum/Dark/Torchwood for spawning them) here are some pics
Pic 1
Pic 2
Pic 3
Pic 4
Pic 5
Pic 6
Now upon completion I heard of a rumour that defiant boasted a much higher figure, which got me to thinking, what about a mass spawning of them?...im not talking small numbers either, I mean a real challenge...if a team of 2/3 not even full can drop 3 in a relatively small time, why not more?
So here is my suggestion;
First, location...it would have to be somewhere open and low level so my thought is the open water in Perez Park that way folks can gather from most levels.
Second, numbers... now this would have to be pre organised, and we have currently 6 folks in our sg with the arc ready to set up, which I will do this week, I know of Lightnia who has the arc ready too, so far that gives us seven titans...we need more.
Thirdly, prep... now this is fairly easy, those who have the arcs split and head for perez park now there are 2 options..auto complete the mission or if not possible, take a solo toon on your team and have them complete the mission for them, the important thing is for the mission holders to stay together in perez as the titans spawn on them not the guy in the mish.
Finally, execution... well this is even simpler, those who want in on the rumble will be notified either here or on union chat/sals badgehunters of the day/time this is to be done so as many people turn up as possible to take part in what will probably be the malta groups bankruptcy
Ok so thats my plan, last night had a fair few peeps show interest and hoping to make this a truly memorable event...any questions PM me in game @stryke or here.
Any help running this would be a bonus, ive got the sg missions covered with our other leaders but any extra assistance is welcome.
(finally to add, for those who dont know the mission you need is from Crimsons "world wide red" arc...mission is number 9 "stop wildflower agents")
So...any interest? -
Totally agree there Londoner, plus Necro's earlier post regarding his views on a "unified" version of paragon and his musings regarding developers time spent over the last 6+ months, I have to say im leaning towards his way of thinking.
Regarding the mission architect I see Necro's fears but also on the opposite scale, I have worried that it may be a lot more basic than people (such as myself) are hoping for.
Although this I would doubt due to the time they are/have been spending on it since they pushed it back from its pegged i13 slot.
Seems there is a lot of speculation over the various tight lipped snippets of info that are being spoken by Posi/GR etc, but in any industry if you are working on something big and you know how it is going to affect your customer base, no matter how professional you may be, it is hard to not want to scream what you are up to from the rooftops. This is what I see is going on here..yes there is something good in the pipelines, yes in my opinion I believe it will usher in a breath of life for the game....what that is I have no real basis other than a collection of educated guesses....for now it seems that I like a lot of other folks out there am going to have to sit on my hands to stop me from biting my fingers off...time will tell I guess. -
Leaning back again while perusing the details of the aircraft, Stryke smiled "Well its always nice to not have to physically fly everywhere for once, there gonna be an inflight movie by the way?"
Grinning lopsidedly he folded his hands behind his back
"Looks like you have a lot of fancy info here, any idea of lettin us know exactly what were gonna be expectin out there....you said sommat before miss but ah hate bein caught with my spandex round my ankles if you catch my drift"
Although still smiling, Stryke looked at Leah with a little more of an intent stare, conveying more seriousness behind his affable demeanour. -
An absolute cracker of a night, plenty of peeps showed up, followed by some fantastic fights.
Then to end it all Pious, you sneaky sod, drops a Last man standing on us, but was great fun, looking forwards to next week, again cheers for this Pi, best fun ive had in a long while -
Folding his arms behind his head and leaning back, Stryke looked around, nodding to the new arrival,
Then looking to Leah.
"Hey missy, you got any info on what we're gonna be expectin out there or you keepin that till we get this posse rollin?"
Smiling slightly in a lopsided manner
"Just like to make sure I aint gettin into somethin' im gonna regret"
Leaning back and looking at the ceiling.
"Ahh well needed some excitement anyway" -
The door opened to the entrance of a young athletic male wearing a dark suit and carrying a duffel bag, casually throwing into the corner, he looked around the room...noticing only the young female he smiled, ran a hand through a short crop of shock white hair and sauntered over offering his hand...
" Hey, you must be this *Leah* chick...names Stryke, im here for the expedition..." looking around the room "though looks like we got a wait on our hands" -
Ok daft Question - just had a new card so had to redo my details, but once my card details have gone through and it states "transaction approved" I dont need to click the "apply serial code" button do I?
Just currently sitting on that page, not knowing whether to advance or not ....off to make some more coffee while I wake up and figure out why im being so dumb today.
(edit - never mind, didnt need to, just being daft) -
Walking out of an office in Portal Corp, a young athletic man in a nondescript casual outfit and a shock of white hair passed by the poster...almost exiting via the door before stopping in his tracks, turning back on himself he walked casually over to the poster and perused the details through mildly glowing eyes before showing a wry smile
"well whaddya know"
Fishing his phone out of his pocket, he punched in a number.
"Hey Dmitri...yeah its me, yeah I asked around...seems the rumours were true, he has been seen in the isles....yeah, better get the team up to speed"
*pauses a second*
"Look Dmitri, im gonna need a few days, somethin else just took my attention...no yeah ill send you the info...no im not gonna go find him, this is somethin different, just gimme a few days will ya?...ok ok....look its me yer old buddy Stryke..would I do anythin stupid?............ok very funny anyway im gonna go, ok cya"
Putting his phone away he turned and walked through the door next to the poster... -

however you should recall that the Mac project has actually been in partnership with Transgaming and the impact on NCNC's ongoing work, or any sort, is minimal.

This intrigues me more relating to necros post regarding the extra staff and his speculations as to what they could be working on other than ironing out i14.
[ QUOTE ]
Right now, I can guarantee that GR is groaning into his coffee and wishing he hadn't posted that...
[/ QUOTE ]
Well all i can say is that on top of speculation topping speculation, he has inadvertantly (or has he?) opened up a veritable can of worms, but I agree tho FFM, I can picture him right now hovering over the "edit" function ...Too late GR ...too late -

Oh, I think the ones in the Silver Mantis Strike Force count too.

Dagnabbit forgot that one, and yeah even though they are "clones" they do count -
Depends what side, if by monster island you mean the one via grandville then im guessing Red, so the options are;
Outdoor Street Hunting:
-Grandville's Fab section has Paragon Protectors elites. Though they are 49-50
-The Rikti War Zone also has some scattered around the zone.
In missions:
-Tavish Bell (45-50) has the demonic Paragon Protectors.
-Crey missions are scattered everywhere from level 30 onward from Timothy Raymond (30-35), Regent Korol (40-44), Dr. Forrester (40-44)
If blueside then the choices are:
-Gordon Stacy's (level 35-39) "Revenant Hero Project."
-Unai Kemen's "Take readings from rupture" mission (it is the third in the series).
-Unai Kemen also has a second non-arc mission with paragon protectors in it according to Red Tomax "Dimension Psi 20-7."
-Manticore Task Force.
...Also may want to try Firebase Zulu, point Sierra, some great mobs of lvl 42/43 PP's with fake nems and overseers in the mix (can get visionary and unveiler badge as well while your at it :P)
Hope that helped -

I'd also like to add the fact that Sister Psyche is, according to in-game lore/canon, the most powerful psychic in the World - that's possibly not quite true and I can't find the quote that backs it up but some attention seems to be being paid to the power limits of the CoX Universe.
[/ QUOTE ]
According to in-game information, it's actually Penelope Yu. She just doesn't use her power. If we're talking about the most powerful hero or villain psychic, then yes, Sister Psyche tops the bill.
[/ QUOTE ]
Isnt the Clockwork King also lauded to be " one of the most powerful psychics on earth "? hence why in the alternate dimension he has wiped out all life, the only reason he hasnt manifested this in the regular universe is his vast unleashing of his power when Penelope was threatened that drove him deeper into insanity...seems there are quite a few laying claim to that particular throne. -
I agree with this too, the amount of god style toons out there do make me thing theres a work shortage in the heavens/mt olympus/asgard..
I think however I have gotten waylaid in this by entering my toons as examples, bad ones when I think of it, as neither are gods/demigods anything like that stryke for example is human, slight unnatural metabolism but then experimented on and tortured by Aeon (mainly his monologues were enough to drive him mad :P) but come to think of it..all my toons are human in some way, I was just taking the high power/potential side of chars abilities...as for god chars, never found the need/want to play them if I want that kind of omnipotence, ill go play black and white.
But I also go on the line of the fact that this is RP related, some folks will make a toon, write a backstory but never RP, however I think that if you are going to RP, then yeah, playing as a god is just going to (in my opinion and experience) lessen the experience for you and the others around...unless its for a specific plot related reason, to use as a contact for a magic creature, for advice etc...well thats how I see it anyhoo, but then again my RP experience is from the nationals and other games, never got into it in here, not for love of trying -
I agree with Shadowe on the conceptual part about characters, that was my entire point when making mine, as Ive always been interested in that type of hero (no im not talking about actual gods here, just those heroes with high untapped potential)
The best real comic example I can give would be the Bobby Drake / White queen intersection from a good few years back, where Frost took over Bobby's mind and unleashed his full potential, leading him to make some amazing discoveries...he could teleport using vapour in the air, he could no longer cover himself within a sheet of ice but reform his entire body, at the molecular level. However Bobby's power will never become fully realised as his own insecurities prevent him from unlocking his true potential (imho a great "powerful" toon with a great way of stopping him becoming overpowered)
This thinking applies to my characters ..example's War and Stryke, characters with high powers but some deficiancy to keep them level with everyone else. War for example has such an archaic mindset that he he has difficulty comprehending non face to face combat, Stryke a "living" battery has all the untapped energy potential of a neutron bomb, but will never unleash it as he -1- doesnt know it and -2- wouldnt even if he did through the fear of not being able to control it.
As to the idea of putting states and recluse as the top dogs, I am a little on the fence, I see FFM's point and agree but also Shadowes and Scions...the game has to break some of its own continuity/rules ..such as the STF, how many times you can take recluse down without it becoming a joke is beyond me, however the game treats you as doing that only once. On the side of beating them while still having them be top dog, I see it as more of a comic book theme than is given credit, its comic book dogma to allow your nemesis to run with their tail between their legs knowing full well there will be a "next time..gadget"
I think in the long run going back to shadowes post any character can be given some kind of cosmic shattering power, its how you humanise them to the point of having the potential but not the inclination/knowledge to use said powers keeping them rooted as it were, these weaknesses are what makes characters interesting, and their battles to fight even when unable to use said powers is what makes them heroic. -
Informative view there Necro, raised some good points that I tend to agree with, last paragraph especially...I have so many thoughts/wishes for whats to happen, but put simply...I know issue14 is coming so will tide by with that content for now and stop melting my brain over what may be coming after...for really we only have speculation at this point;
1.Positron states that there are "big" things coming for post i14.
2.rumblings from a well known MMO site about future possibilities in the game (although admitedly this was guesswork on the writers part)
3. Rockjaws post which, even though he says he is only guessing, surely as FFM noted that he would have been privvy to some info at least before he went.
(silly example but my company has set its plans in meetings for up to 2011...subject to change of course)
He would have been in on the loop for some kind of info, even if just a tidbit, so the "guesswork" is just his way of saying "I know..just cannot say I know"
Again this is all speculation on top of speculation so its all rather moot until we get some kind of official wording.....until then im going to get thimbles for each of my fingertips. -
I have no idea if its been posted already, but with say the badge rewards, or specific difficult arcs/tfs....every enemy faction offering up a full range of costume pieces to select from, like we have with the current vanguard/cimerora tf's but say a heavy sky raider arc or for killing X amount of aforementioned enemies you receive their full costume options, in the current game not feasible I know, but if there is to be a sequel (and I do hope there is) I would hope they would expand on one of this games lauded feature, the costume editor.

Gonna be wiping the beerstains off my spandex for weeks to come, but before I go and drink/be merry/get wasted and start shouting like brian blessed on acid, I have to say ....
........HAPPY NEW YEAR CoX!!!.........
(yes that also applies to those on deviant as well)
Hope the new year brings you all something to smile about, be it bigger and better issues, better econimical climate for us all, animated hair for GG, a bigger shop for Mothers Love, PVP revamp for the old crew, less "this isnt difficult" statements for Birdy, and an epic fail in court for Worlds.com, the list could go on, in short, next year I hope will be bigger and better, see you chaps on the other side.
p.s Special shout out goes To Isit_Hot....best wishes to you and your father mate, hope im saying the same thing this time next year -
I believe its the fact that folks are making a point as to the fact that their character may have these uber power but are not playing them in "god mode", seems good that 99 percent of folks are of the same impression, its not the powers its the player, and thus i think this is why folks are displaying their toons / powers and motivations behind them, to prove the point that you can have a sense of immortality to a char but still keep them ...human...least thats how I see it
