Quote:Doing away with the launcher solved the problem. It's always possible, you could set it to automatically exit once the game is launched. If that does make your issue go away, I'd still suspect the real culprit is somewhere else on the system.
I'd imagine, though, you've got a fair bit of software still running in the background (if it's an OEM machine that hasn't been manually wiped, you likely got a bunch of their crap running... I once had an issue where an HP background process would make CoX freeze for 20+ seconds every time you alt-tabbed in/out!). -
I'll check both once I'm back on that PC. Could it be the actual NCSoft updater? I don't run anything on that PC except for the game itself, and the updater behind it.
-
This is an odd one for me.
Launcher starts up. Launcher starts the game. Game comes up, but it's as if I've tabbed to something else, and it's not "on top".
So I click on the password box to input the password. The game blinks twice, and then it's de-selected, as if I tabbed to something else.
I have to rapid click on the game a few times to get it to be the selected program.
This is while running full screen, updater behind it.
Graphics card or anyone have another guess? -
I'm open minded enough that I'll wait and see what happens.
I hope, for the love of everything that's holy, that the game doesn't become like that OTHER one, where in order to even see endgame content, I gotta fill out an application, take some annoying cookie-cutter build, follow the schedule of five basement nerds with no jobs, and spend all my free time grinding for materials with no return on them... Just to get yelled at in nasal virgin voices on some voice program I also had to go and download, over and over for weeks, until I finally get a single little shiny that I'm going to scrap for the upgraded shiny that that one gave me access to... -
After about a year away, I'm back in Virtue. Quite a bit has changed with that expansion, wow. I'm getting back into it slowly, but most of it I'm getting.
What's the big thing to do now? I've got a Mastermind I'm fond of that needs updating.
Speaking of, has redside population decreased since the expansion? I've never seen Grandville so empty. -
I was playing my Mercs just last night, and didn't notice them getting out of control. The medic had some issues, but then, he always does.

Quote:That's gotta be it- the corner pull discussion is irrelevant to what I'm seeing, since I'm ducking around the corner and spamming the follow macro, so I'm definitely out of LOS and not being attacked. However I have also seen instances where a pet is committed to an attack on an enemy that is running away and they don't immediately respond to a follow command (defensive or otherwise) as the AI seems to want to finish the currently queued action - if the enemy is out of range of the queued attack then the pet will frequently follow to try and fire it off.
-
-
That's what I thought too. But this is happening even when I'm stepping around a corner and tap-tap-tapping that macro.
-
No, I'm tapping follow/defensive. Which worked for years, minus a delay every now and then.
-
So, for years I had a handful of keybinds I use for my pets. One of them is to Follow me (petcom_all follow defensive). For years I used this to pull them off of mobs, get them away from bosses/heroes after using a couple powers, etc.
All of a sudden lately, it hasn't worked. Even tapping the bind over and over. The minions SAY they're following, I see the chat bubbles... But they don't. They keep charging forward into the fight, or chasing fleeing enemies across the map. And I know there's a delay, especially in combat, but this isn't that. This is saying one thing, doing another.
Help Chat seemed to think this was intended behavior, but I've had this keybind for years, and never experienced this.
Any ideas? -
So, I've got an Assault Rifle/Devices blaster looking for an SG.
RP is preferred, not required.
Anyone know any recruiting SG's? -
Quote:Yeah, I know. I was more... "musing out loud" with that one.? Wait, what? Pretty easy to find teams on any server. You can make your own, broadcast, search, and use your server's global channels to do that easy (it looks like you're on Virtue, so go to that part of the forums to find out what global channels to use). The global channels are used to shout out about teams running, TFs forming, etc. Added on top of all the other features CoX has, and it's easy to start or join a team.

Well, if that's the only nerf... Could be worse, I suppose.
-
Recharge?
You mean their own powers, or how quick before I can summon 'em again? -
Awesome. I'm glad I'm back, then.
Now to find people to play with... -
Great, awesome.
I was here for 14, yes. I remember the Architect. Nothing after that.
We can walk now? Awesome. How?
I'll have to check that out.
And power customization. That's gonna be fun. -
Quote:Answers that. Thanks.Leveling pacts have always been capable of breaking.

Thank you, thank you...
Can levelling pacts be broken yet?
Oh, going rogue, that looks good. Is that implemented, or just talked about? -
I had to cancel my account about... eight months ago. Now I'm back.
Barring specific class changes (I'll read up on those on my own), what'd I miss? -
I had to cancel my account about... eight months ago.
Now I'm back. Any significant changes to my beloved Masterminds since then? -
This is a SERIOUS problem for Masterminds, or groups with Masterminds in them. You tell your pet to attack, the mob immediately runs the first time he's hit, and the pet CHASES the critter all the way across the map/zone/whatever, dies, and you get to deal with fifteen groups of creatures that want to kill you.
