Well, we tried two different methods, switching to an unfamiliar one part way thru given an odd lack of scrappers but Hami held out & told us to bog off!
Learned a couple of tidbits on my first crack at leading the whole Hami and next time will instill the finer tuned points.
Big huge thanks to those who showed and gave it a try. -
Hey all
Super sorry for lateness
long story short, some events came up at work that could not be avoided.
Here now, let's kick Hami.
I have got the hump as I very nearly missed this (after all the hype) but will grab a beer and make merry! -
The gathering of heroes is to begin around 18:00 BST to start the EoE obtaining process, make sure everyone has at the very least 2 on them. Better to have more and whole stashes in your bases! Feel free to start gathering earlier.
The raid will start a little later, ideally wanna start around the 19:30 mark but wanna good to go by 20:00 BST.
The more we have getting the EoE's at the start, the sooner we raid!
I'm more the host of the raid rather than the leader, I've done several but certainly won't turn down any assistance!
War Borg is leading one of the Blaster/Controller teams.
To those of you that have previously stepped forward and mentioned to me you'd like to lead a team, please PM me here with toon(s) name so I have an up to date idea of those still attending. -

The time is drawing near War
Might it be worth getting an admin to put a message on the union badgehunters channel and the hami channel if anyone is still in the hami channel?
[/ QUOTE ]
hehehe, it's been on Badgers channels twice and keeps getting replaced!
Will have see about the Hami raid channel (i'm not in it anynore) or maybe use the Mothership Raid one?
I'll ask..... -
This is notching up rather well.
Any more for any more joining Friday's Hami beat down!? -

And I did state it may have been missed *shrugs*
Still as much as I'd like to do it, probably won't have enough time to devote, good luck & have fun! -
Precisely as the post title suggests!
A few days ago, I'm proud to say the Paragon Knights celebrate their 2nd anniversary here in our fair city.
Big thanks to all our heroes past and present for making this a fun and active SG.
Here's to another year! -
Cool idea, love themes!
As it happens, a pocket of my SG devotes one night a week to specific team up toons that level together. They're spandex clasd mainly but have that individual style. Feel free to join in.
In case I have the time to join you lot, when would hold this & on what server (missed it, if one was chosen!)
And was a definite theme started! -
Hey folks, welcome to the game.
The Paragon Knights have some room left over if you want to try the SG.
Let us know, rather than batter your senses with info here, please check the SG spotlight on the Euro CoX site and/or PM or in-game e-mail War Borg, Lost Kheldian, Cyberwaste or Artic-fire for more info.
Either way, see you on the streets of Paragon and most importantly, HAVE FUN! -

So i play my brute, i smile each time i smack out a power with full fury. So i play my dominator, how lovely to see that power going when you popit. So i play my MM, bodyguard makes me tanker-style. So i play my controller, double dmg ftw!
So i play my blaster, i scold defenders to stop healing me, i yell at tankers to stop taking 100% agro. I even order scrappers and trollers to stop attacking at all! Then when i finaly have a superhigh defiance, i start my shoot animation (yes, quite some have long animations) and die. They mock me.

Nail on the head.
Every other inherent power I can see working, but my age old blaster's Defiance? Utter pants.
The blaster needs an inherent power change, it just does not function anywhere near as well as the other inherents. -
Okay heroes, read the following and then read it again, if you're a hero on one of the leading teams, that's right you guessed it... read it again!
It's been done before and it's not offering anything new, I'm really just out there to get a bunch of people together for a much needed Hami kicking and a damn good laugh with the community.
Now if you've lead any of the teams previously, let me know. I've got some names from our previous Hami scraps and will testing the water shortly, meanwhile can any heroes who've led before e-mail War Borg in-game and let me know as I'm gonna start getting an idea of the AT's we have lots of and those we don't.
Right, the plan!
Below is a brief outline of the plan we'll be trying, if you find a problem with it please tell me, as it might be tricky on the day if there are any.
For the first part of the raid we will need to obtain some Essence of earth inspirations, (EoEs), these are vital as they are the only thing that gives damage resistance to Hamis attacks and those of most his mitos. They cap the dmg res against hamidons electrolyte damage for each AT.
We can get EOEs be defeating the monsters on Monster Isle in PI before the raid from half 6. Each time one is defeated, one person on each team that contributed significantly will receive an EoE, there is also a small chance that anyone who helped will receive one.
In order to get a good amount of these quickly, please form into teams of 7 only. A leader for each team will be designated so do not invite people unless asked pls, this will save us from ending up with a dozen teams of 4.
Make sure you have 2 insp slots free, otherwise you wont be able to receive EoEs.
DO NOT use the EoEs you get, any EoEs you get should be given to tankers and scrappers, as they will be holding aggro and are hopefully going to be the only ATs being hit by the electrolyte attacks. Other Ats may want to grab Breakfrees.
Once in the Hive Hamidon will be spawned when enough of the Monsters are defeated in the Hive. Apparently this is somewhere between 8 and 50 judging by the US raids.
Dont leave the hive if you die, its better to wait for a rez in case you lose your place. Some exceptions will be made in case of emergencies.
Hamidon deals Electrolytic damage using his attacks, his old AoE some of you will be familiar with and a new single target sniper like attack. These attacks also Stun and lower Regeneration and Healing.
A few shots form those will nullify all heals and regen. The Essence of Earth insps are important for tanking Hamidon and his range is around 600 feet, enough to reach the gathering areas so dont stand in his line of sight.
Mitochondria antibodies (Yellows), are basically Hamis blasters, there are 6 per wave. They deal a lot of Electrolytic damage and like hamidon they have a 600 foot range, both by ranged area attack and also have a point blank area attack.
These attacks also Stun and Knockback. Sadly the EoE insps do not protect from mez effects so powers like CM, ID are a must and should be spammed continuously, mez shields should be enough in most cases however. These Yellow Mitos Have insane Ranged Defense meaning melee attacks are the best.
Yellow mitos are in range to be supported by Blues and healed by Greens. A single Melee Scrapper can deplete the Yellow's 7k hit points in under 3 minutes if its not being healed so taking them out shouldnt be too difficult.
Mitochondria electrolytes (Blues) are very annoying sappers and there are six of them each wave. They deal Electrolytic damage over time and also drain endurance. This attack can even bounce across multiple heroes, so be careful.
Blues also have a melee range end drain that can deplete your end in seconds, so dont get close. Blues have high melee defense, but no real ranged defense.
Blasters Ranged attacks are perfect here. Melee attacks are useless but claws and spines scrappers can help out still once they are done with the yellow mitos.
Mending mitochondria (Greens) are Hamidon's Healers, and are also six each wave. They have some form of Personal Force Field and need to be held by a pack of Controllers or Blasters to drop it.
Greens have a melee range area heal for about 300 hit points, and a single target ranged heal for over 1200. Their odd attack deals Toxic damage and inflicts a -Regeneration and -Heal effect that can nullify heals and regen in two hits.
In order to effectively take these out the raid will be split into 4 teams.
A Team will consist of all scrappers, and a number of defenders, if there are enough it may be split into two teams. These scrappers will follow the team leader and attack his mito, continuing in a clockwise pattern.
P (Perimeter) team will consist of 5 scrappers and any spare empaths, they will each be assigned a yellow mito to hold aggro on, when A team reaches their mito a select scrapper will taunt it to draw aggro at a distance, while A team and any perimeter members who do not have a mito to aggro anymore attack it.
Team B will comprise of all blasters and most controllers, they will be split into 2/3 teams, their job will be to hold and destroy the green mitos, in order to stop them healing the other mitos. Only greens matter at first, spam holds until your team leader announces the order to attack, at which point switch to ranged attacks, any controllers with poor or no ranged attacks stick to holds.
None of you will need EoEs, so give any you have to tanks and scrappers. It's very important that the tanks and scrappers get these. Once all the greens are down move onto the blue mitos and simply down them with ranged attacks.
Team C are in charge of aggro, mainly Hamidons, all tanks will be in this team, as well as a kin with ID, and multiple empaths, theyre primary job is to hold Hami aggro.
One tank will hold aggro while using an EoE and being spammed with CM, when it starts to run out use a second EoE, when that is close to running out the heal and regen will have left the tank with little hp.
At this point the 2nd appointed tank pops an EoE and takes over, the first is pulled out, healed and the cycle is repeated. This may be adjusted depending on tanker HP.
Once all the mitos are down anyone with recall friend returns to the safe point, in case of emergencies and the rest of us attack Hami, When he hits 75% of his health he will respawn his mitos.
When I yell RUN, run faster as they will open fire quite quickly. Return to your designated safe points and we will then repeat this process, hell do another spawn at 50% and 25%, after those we just gank him and we win.
No pets allowed during the raid, they have a habit of aggroing a lot.
Whew, now all i've got to do is read it again.... -
Okay, seems to be some really good positive feedback to make this one worthwhile.
Thanks so far to those who've stepped up to help on the leading roles and to those brave heroes willing accept the challenge!
The method is one we've tried before (and it worked) with a couple of small tweaks, i'll be posting this in the next few days. -
oh there are some classics...
8 man team & i'm on my kin/rad, we're in the early teens.
I advise the team my set has 1 yes 1 targeted it could miss AoE heal & thats it. I explained the second defender a /storm had 1 mini heal, both of these 'heals' are not to be relied upon.
The 'indestructible' tank keeps wading in and getting more aggro than he can take and then come the hollers of...
Tank: " why you not healin'?
Me: Not an Empath, neither is the other defener
later:
Tank: heal plz!!!
Me: There are NO Emps on the team.
I had to say this about 3 times before the penny dropped. -

I'd like to give it a go - I'm still classing myself as a newb (been playing for about 2 months). I currently have a Scrapper at lvl 38 - Is this too low for the Hami raid? Hopefully i will get to lvl 45 by the 26th of October!
One last question - which server are you guys doing this on?
[/ QUOTE ]
The thread is posted on UNION HEROES /e sarcasmend
Only pulling your leg, get your hero up & it's Hami kicking time! -
It will start as early as possible in PI monster Isle to start earning our teams of 7 the all important Essence of the Earths. The more in for this the better. This will start around 6pm BST.
If you heroes want to start accumulating them and storing them now, it'd help. -

I am not sure if he reads the forums or not but the last hami raid Lone Samurai did we had the most fantastic team leader for the blasters.
I would therefore nominate Sgt M P Lawrence for a post and hope he forgives me but I am sure he would love to do it again if he has time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bloody good news to learn! He was on my team for the first couple and is a good laugh, nice to sse he's made an impact, also pretty certain i've seen him stalk the forums....
Please feel free to stir up interest for this among your Coals & SG's, friends lists etc.
The more dedicated people we have the better it will be. -
Over the past couple of weeks, I've bumped into & teamed with heroes that keep asking the same thing: When's the next Hami Raid?
Insanely, I'm offering myself up for running a Hami raid at the end of October, the 26th is probable.
I'll sugar coat it as much as possible but for what you get in return, it will be hard, it will be long and will need specific team work, experienced leaders and dedication.
So much for the sugar coat!
When we used to run them regularly, there was in the vast majority, a really good set of people that makes the experience worth while.
What I'm looking for is those of you that have done it before and lead the separate teams needed as we did in the first Hami raid. Everyone else is welcome to join in and the vets can advise & help out where needed.
Please do not join if you can't or won't stay the distance as this will hinder those that do.
We'll be using a similar set up to the last attempts and I'll re-post it for you to peruse. Please re-read to ensure your clear on it, repeating oneself will grow tiresome pretty quickly!
Please note your interest here and add the toon you'll want to bring.
Feel free to add any hints & tips too. -
Lots of points in there!
All servers have their fair share of morons, leechers & idiots etc.
As a concept builder and being a bit stubborn, i always build the toon according to their character and the powers that fit that. If someone says blah/blob is bad combination or no-one uses /jiffy, i run off & try it!
On my teams, I welcome any player, if the team is banging on about getting a healer or a tank and there are none available, i take the player I've found who is 'lft' and WANTS a team. Sure some team formations will kick [censored] but more often than not, it's cool to use what you have and actually THINK about your next attempt on that troublesome Elite Boss. That aside, if the builds are all awful, the players are drunk and a debt fest ensues BUT we're chatting & having fun, I'd pick the useless fun team anyday over the elite silent running dull ones.
I will offer advice, put forth suggestions but defiantly defend someone who likes their build as they've built it.
Silly people get silly responses or at times heavily sarcastic replies when they do thing s like rely too strongly on the Emp or if a tank thinks he's indestructible and wades into 20 mobs; 9/10 learn pretty swiftly when put straight.
Then there's the Kick or Quit buttons..... -

I'd love to do a Hamidon raid as I've never done one more... problem is, I can't do it on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. D:
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh dear the intended night was going to be one of these.... most likely a Friday! -
Well, it'll be quite specific invite-wise as the 50 peeps cap means no room for slackers & leechers.
-
So all this chat, who's up for Hami?
I'll be using the Lost Samurai approach
(oh look what you've gotten me into now Stanley...)
-
Got my regen scrapper to 38 and I'm in a pickle as to what power to take, I'll probably check it on test but thought some experienced comments may guide me.
Up for grabs are Moment of Glory, looks and sounds as if i might like it but surely defeats the point of regeneration as it's kinda like unstoppable, right?
or
Revive, well the idea of standing back up and fighting on can't be bad...... can it?
The toon does PvE and PvP. -
Apologies for not making it, my TF team left a little to be desired and what was initially an easy walk thru and finished, instead it turned into a bloodbath...
Ah well c'est la vie.
Good to see it all went well for you lot
