This is off-topic, of course, but is there a TF that gives a better chance of getting a purple drop? How about a Hami Raid or a Rikti Mothership Raid?
I checked with paragonwiki, and it says that 'any Level 47 critter has a chance of dropping a purple. Giant Monsters, Monsters, and Underlings NEVER drop a purple.' Is this accurate? -
Quote:Seriously? Then why are they allowed to advertise in-game? I get in-game email all the time.That is prohibited. If you get caught, your account will be permanently banned.
I is confused.
Maybe I'll get lucky and get a purple drop to pay for the whole thing.
A guy can dream, I guess . . . -
Quote:Thank you for the offer, but I'll probably just use one of those 'Get 1 Billion Influence for $7.99' deals. Thanks again for the offer though.... I will match anything up to 200 million inf should you wish to turn inf into prestige .(my 200M + your 200M = 400 M inf = 800K prestige.) @Boltcutter in game, send me a tell so I know your global and I'll email you the inf.
Also, about the Base Editor not allowing me to place a 100,000 Prestige room when I had 118,000 Prestige, it turns out that Jagged was right. When I logged back in to continue working on my Base, I only had approx 94,000 Prestige. That's why it wouldn't let me place the room.
Still can't figure out why it said 'Infamy' instead of Prestige though. -
So I'm starting to add rooms. After placing the Control Room, I have about 118000 Prestige remaining but when I go to place the 2x2 Teleport Room (cost: 100000 Prestige) for the Raid Telepad, the game tells me that I don't have enough infamy.
I'm on the Hero side. Infamy? WTF? -
Very cool! I've got the layout all set. I used an 8x12 Hidden Plot because I want TPs to everywhere. After a week of crunching numbers on paragonwiki, I've got it set up so I don't waste a single point of Energy or Control. All but 21 of the 96 squares on the Hidden Plot are used. I just need 3 Million Prestige (and the SuperComputer badge) and I'll be all set. Upkeep per month will 500 Prestige. 1 Enhancement Table and 4 Salvage Racks. Not bad.
I'll post a pic of the layout when I can.
Edit: Hopefully this works.
Here's my layout:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/...rgroupBase.jpg
P= Entrance Portal Room
C= Control Room
CoP= 2x2 TP Bay for Cathedral of Pain Telepad
E= Energy Room
W= Workshop
I= Infirmary
T= Teleport Rooms.
D= Door (of course)
The 3x3 Teleport Room can hold 3 Telepads. These will be for the zones that I scarcely travel to (Eden, Boomtown, Pocket D (I got a Temp Power for that one). Not sure which others I'll pick for that room, but now you know what I'm doing.
What do you think? -
Since Netphenix5 seems to be reluctant to share his cheap-and-easy build with me, should I just take every power in the Dark and Sonic sets, or are there some that can be (or should be) skipped?
-
Very cool. I'll take a look at Mad Scientist's spreadsheet when I get the chance.
Onward . . .
Do the Pillar of Ice and Flame and/or Mission Computer count against the maximum number of Control Aux that can be on a Mainframe?
Also, can a Raid Telepad (for Cathedral of Pain) be put in a Teleport Bay (1x2) or does the room need to be bigger? -
Hi there!
I'm messing around with the Base Editor and using paragonwiki to figure how much space will I need, how much stuff will cost, etc . . .
Question: Can I put the Secure Portal Room (Largest Teleport Room) in a Hidden Plot or does it have to be a Secure Plot? -
Quote:You know, I never really tried a character with a Dark power before. I am intrigued by the possibility. So much so that I've already created a costume and thought up a name for her. Again, if you would be so kind as to post your cheap-and-easy build, along with tips on how to properly run her, I'd be most grateful as I feel myself being drawn to the Dark Side.I have a Dark/Sonic defender myself and it's become my main toon in no time - it made the difference twice on a team getting through a +3/x6 mission only to get slaughtered on the next one once I left. With my current, cheap-and-easy build, I can heal anyone close to me for over 500 hp every 5 seconds - that's about half a health bar for anything but a high-level brute or tanker. And my debuffs mean I can even go briefly in melee range to heal the tanker(s)/scrapper(s)/brute(s), something an empath should never do.
Btw, is Howling Twilight a rez for one fallen ally or every fallen ally within range? I read the power's description in MIDs, and the way it's worded, it sounds like a group rez. -

Wow! That's a lot of info. Thanks!
So, I've decided to go Emp/Sonic. Do I take all of the powers in each powerset? Or are there some that I should skip? I will take Resurrect for sure so I'll have 2 rezzes (I'm taking the Medicine pool as well). Absorb Pain? What do you think? Like it, love it, or hate it?
Also, since I'm planning out my character on MIDs, should I just go with Power Mastery (again) for my Epic Pool, or can someone suggest a better one? -
Hello. I'm building a Defender with MIDS. I want this character to be the ultimate support teammate. I'm not interested in having DPS. Let the other ATs handle that. This character merely exists to keep his/her teammates on their feet and fighting. Therefore, the Primary will be Empathy for the Heals.
The question is about which Secondary Powerset would be best. Sonic's attacks do -RES. Rad's attacks do -DEF. I know the difference. -RES lowers their Resistance (no really!) to the damage done, thereby having the bad guy take more damage than they normally would while -DEF makes bad guys easier to hit. Which is preferable?
Also, is the Leadership pool worth getting? Somewhere on these forums, someone mentioned that the bonuses for the +DEF from Maneuvers, the +DMG from Assault, and the +THBuff from Tactics really aren't worth the END drain that they cause. I should know . . . My Blaster had all 3 three of them and during combat, my END disappeared quicker than chocolate chip cookies disappear from my cookie jar. I respecced out of it and took the Medicine pool instead. Teammates like it when you can rez them.
Any advice will be most appreciated. -
Quote:My main toon is a L50 Katana/Willpower Scrapper (awesome combo, imho) named Unspoken Covenant (don't ask) on Virtue. He's been L50 for about 3 months now. I've run a bunch of mishes with him since then. Last Friday, he and some buds from our SG (The Island of Misfit Heroes) did the Reichsman TF. We beat the big bad Nazi, and what did I get for a drop?It's pretty easy: kill enemies over lvl 47. Beyond that, it's all "luck" revolving around the RNG.
Inanimate Carbon Rod and a L50 Disorient IO (Not a Set) Recipe. I'm not joking.
In the immortal words of Charlie Brown: 'I got a rock.' -
I personally have never gotten a Purple drop. I wish I knew the secret on how to get one.
-
I am a guy, and I mostly play female toons for a very important reason: Though I play on the two busiest servers (Virtue and Freedom), I very rarely get asked to join a team. So I solo. It takes me about 8-9 months to solo a toon to L50. If I'm gonna look at the backside of a toon for that long, I'd much rather look at a female's posterior.
If that makes me a sexist pig, then: OINK! -
k. I will be asking about the Epic Pools too at some point.
You've been warned. -
[ QUOTE ]
Ancillary Pools are the power pools that heroes get access to at level 40+.
[/ QUOTE ]
D'OH! I knew that. I am such a moron sometimes. I meant Power Pool.
[ QUOTE ]
If you go with IO sets, then Maneuvers, Tactics, and Vengeance can get some interesting slotting choices.

Really? Such as . . . ?
Thanks for the welcome. -
Hi there!
Long time reader, first time poster.
I'm a 24 month vet (well, close enough), and I would like some input on how to slot certain Ancillary Pool Powersets. If I have any extra slots, how should I slot the powers in the Leadership Pool? (Yes, I'm taking all 4 for my Rad/Rad Defender.)
Other Ancillary Pool Powersets will follow.
edit: I changed the name of the thread so hopefully more peeps will read and respond to it.
