  1. I'm sure many of you know this already, but I only just found out about this through Zortel.

I'm now scouring the area to see if I can find my own name.

Edit: Heehee, just found myself and my girlfriend, awesome.

Oh and more red bars please! I like red better than green.
I think pet customisation will be in COH long before it's in CO.

The point remains everything we're getting now was planned years before. It's only now that CO is coming out, that the horn of competition sounded. And now every little nook that CO comes out with, conveniently and coincedentally, happens to be made into an issue add-on in CoH.

In the end why complain?, two hero MMO's with uber customization, how can you go wrong?.
Remember that there was a point before NC bought CoH that Cryptic wouldn't allow certain features in the game.

Don't you think it's suspicious that the devs work on issues well in advance but didn't have much to release just after the game was bought by NC but now, months and years later we have lots of new features coming in?

Pure speculation on my behalf but, I think the part of Cryptic that was working on what is now CO didn't want to put any new, interesting features in CoH because they were building a competing product. I'm betting that they planned to sell CoH off when they started making pre-CO and didn't want to put anything in it that would tempt people to play CoH instead of their new game.

NC are the ones who hired new staff members to work on CoH, not Cryptic. If Jack was still here and this was the only game he wanted to develop and help improve then sure, we'd be getting loads of great new stuff. But for a time before the NC buyout, he was working on a competing product, scuppering CoH's chances.
  4. I love Twitter, and Facebook, they're great ways to keep in touch with friends and to learn a little bit about the world each day.

Devs, you thought about putting your Twitter feeds on the website?

Actually I don't think it has anything to do with registration dates who gets the suffix, I think both parties get it until they can sort it out. Take SynergyX for example, both names have the suffix.
  6. I love Reese's Nutragious, they taste like peanut butter Lion bars.

I'm craving root beer right now.
  7. Vox hands the syringe over to M221.

"I think so, and you're just the person I was looking for. Are you able to scan this for fingerprints and check them against police files? There's a whole bunch of scientific crap on a small island back where I came from."
  8. Vox spends some time considering what he's found on the small island before figuring that he needs somebody who could run fingerprint checks and analyse what's in that syringe. He puts on a pair of rubber gloves and carries the syringe back to Talos, keeping an eye out for anybody heading towards the island.
  9. Can I watch some basketball instead? Stupid season ending... *mumble mutter*

100 people play BLOODGUN: GUNS AND BLOOD with its bump-mapped gore splatter and 7.1 surround sound bullet engine.

Two people who played BLOODGUN: GUNS AND BLOOD at a later point go on to go postal.

Obviously it's not things like mental or emotional problems or drugs or social causes or anything. No, it has to be the VIOLENT GAME OF VIOLENCE AND BLOOD AND GUNS.

Know what kills more people than video-game related violence? Cars. Smoking. Alcohol. You don't see any governments banning these things though. Driving a several ton vehicle that can go over one hundred miles an hour is fine, but playing a game that has elements of violence in? That's terrible and sick and wrong and no good could ever come from that. Drinking causes more violence than computer gaming.

Video games don't make me violent. Stupid, knee-jerk governemtn decisions and censorship make me think violent thoughts.
Totally agree, though it's even more ridiculous since it's hundreds of thousands of players playing BLOODGUN and only one or two people who go postal.

    What?

  14. As soon as he sees the smaller island, Vox stops and hovers. He pulls out his mobile phone and curses at the lack of signal. Slipping it back into his pocket he flies over to the implements and looks for any sort of trademark or name.

When he finishes looking he thinks for a minute, hovers over the sand and hums in a very low pitch very loudly, agitating the sand, looking for anything buried.

You don't really want to get PMs like that.
Oh no, I mean if I had the choice I'd rather not have that kind of crap at all, but if someone's going to say something to me then I want to know who they are rather than have cowardly anonymous insults thrown at me.

I really doubt the rep system will stay, it's already caused controversy.
  16. "Alright, now Krill Killer is out of danger, I'm going to do a little snooping around out to sea. There's something not right about this, like the robot said, why is it here? I thought whaling had almost completely declined in this area for the past few hundred years."

With that, Vox flies out of the forcefield and out over the ocean.
  17. Hahah, I got some bad rep from my post on this thread and the ****** wrote "yes that's the point" in the comment.

So ridiculousy stupid, I'm turning it off. If you want to tell me that I suck, do it with a PM instead of hiding behind an anonymous negative rep comment.
  18. Vox's voice booms out again.

"A threat is not an attack. Instead of trying to keep the creature from harming people you engaged in a lethal battle, critically wounding Krill Killer in the process and endangering the lives of the people already in the water. Your actions are not those of a responsible hero.

There are people with forcefields here who could have trapped the whale, people who can cloud a creature's mind, instead, you 'heroes' went after Krill Killer with weapons and murder in your mind. Instead of trying to understand why this creature threatened this beach, you attacked it, instead of being defenders, you were the aggressors.

It makes me sick that you have been allowed to function as a hero of this city when you obviously care so little about preserving life."

Vox floats into the forcefield with Tiger White.

"I could vibrate the air enough to help lift this forcefield a little and if that girl can help, carry Krill Killer out into the water." He points at Amy as he says this.

"I think those two girls have filled it with enough water to keep it alive and bouyant whilst we all move it."

A low pitched hum emanates from Vox as he concentrates on lifting the forcefield.

The result of M221's scan of Vox Doom reveals that he is an internationally famous singer in the band Sidereal Din. Public persona of a thrill seeking party boy. He spends a lot of time in the Shadow Shard.

During a recent interview it was revealed that was found in a box with 'Vox Doom' written on it next to a motorway in England and that the first account of him using his powers ended up with two boys at the children's home he lived in being hospitalised, Vox claimed he was being bullied.

The limits of his powers aren't known but he can manipulate his voice to do seemingly anything he wants it to. He has previously cracked open great holes in the earth to rescue trapped miners from a cave in.

He can speak any human language. He is often accompanied by Ibuprofen.
  19. Vox's voice echoed out over the beach, sounding like a chorus of irritated, very loud Mancunians.

"It was a bad idea to start attacking Krill Killer instead of pursuing a non-violent path to stopping it. Whatever its beef was with us could have been sorted out through communication, now we have to explain to it why our supposed 'heroes' attacked it with lethal force.

We're supposed to be the good guys here."

There's a place in my local market that sells Mountain Dew so I'm not too fussed about that

They sell Mug's root beer too which is taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasty. But I want to try A&W nao!
  21. Vox watches Tiger White move towards the whale.

"Can you get some of the water already around Krill Killer in the forcefield with you? Can your forcefield hold water?"

Hearing a splash, Vox looks over at Cathryn and grins.

    "Nice one."
  22. "Actually, you're right, we don't want to move the whale, it might get injured in the process. A better idea is already in progress." He points to the groove that Claire cut into the sand and the water filling up into it and around the whale.

"It can swim out under its own steam after Ibu heals its wounds and then we'll have somebody talk to it and try to understand why it attacked."

He looks around at the heroes scattered on the beach.

"Honestly, why you all decided to try to murder it is beyond me, there's enough power here to have easily contained it and moved it back out to sea, I'm sure Longbow will be wanting a word with each and every one of you."
  23. Vox looks at the whale, beached and unable to move then back up at Sam.

"You got some sort of seeing problem? Until that girl over there gets enough water around the thing it can't move and your stupid attacks are affecting my gi... my friend there." He points at Ibuprofen.

"Leave it alone, you're just doing more harm than good."
