    If you haven't seen it:

    • New command: /chan_timeout <channel name> <duration>
      • This is a command to help Moderators manage channels. When the channel timeout is set, users that have not logged in within the duration specified will be removed from the channel.
      • The duration is in days
      • Setting duration to zero means there is no limit.
      • 7 is the minimum time allowed to be set.
      • Only channel moderators can use this command
      • Example: “/chan_timeout AwesomeChannel 30” will kick all members of AwesomeChannel who have been logged out more than 30 days.
Hopefully OPs people will be on this, though I don't know if established channels will really benefit if people are already use to having off-shoot Channels due to currently being full. Would at least feel "cleaner" to me with hopefully only using one channel compared to having to spam multiple channels filling TFs that essentially have the exact same people in them.

Awww. We both know that's not gonna happen for various reasons. One of which, I have no reason to "ruin the game" for you too.
  3. The 3 MMs I have, I use the default Icon-commands that you get for the character, but slightly edited (right click , edit). I generally keep them on Def/Follow for the most part, but with the other 2 commands, I have Agg/GoTo if I want to use one or more as bait, and the other set to Def/KILL THAT GUY!!@$!@#$!@# when they all get ADD on me. I hardly ever split up the groups individually, but use the pet window to click and choose if one gets out of line.

My next two MMs are already lined up and probably will be treated the same way.

I keep key binds for powers the MM actually use themselves. I'm typically active as an MM *shrug*

I'm so sorry to hear that. You don't know what you've been missing....

And yet, that explains so much

  6. The hell is with you and 9PM

Character : Scrapper is 45 and ready to go. But I have this slight hankering for blasterin' as well.
Time : Possible. After 915 would be more convenient. No need to wait if ready to go.

  8. ~90 min to KILL EVERYTHING IN THE MAP

Yet people still had to ruin it's merits by speeding it. GG.

And the ambushes have all been completely neutered
  9. You need a lady friend. STAT.

    And this time, preferably, non-related.

No, you can't have any of mine. Related or not. Cept the cow.
  10. I'll overnight you a DVD with all the files ya need.

    What's your address?

  12. Thanks for the reply; it really doesn't sound all that different from way back when IMO though. Super Speed is still king, and yeah, Caltrops didn't ever do much to that on it's own.

RE: Stalkers....eh, they weren't the ones that could ever kill me anyway. I honestly don't remember when the last time I heavily zone PvP'd anyway, but at least Sharks weren't ever an issue at the time.

Don't think it was in the notes, but I know I saw a post stating you can do the OLD Posi through ozone still. I *assume* the merit value will remain, but unknown as I hadn't seen it or done it.
  14. A little bird tweet'd me saying this can be pushed back to 930 now.
  15. Obviously things are different than my last forrays in zone PvP, so I'm curious how caltrops are "useless" in PvP now?

I used it religiously back in the day because it slowed noticeably, kept people from flying/jumping, and interrupted plenty of AS and interruptible powers. Once I got you on the ground, you were not going to get away or beat me unless you had help. What changed about it?

I currently have 70% inherent accuracy, on top of slotted accuracy. With the neutering of FA, the accuracy never seemed useful for PvE anymore, so I'm curious how it's still considered good to get for PvP where accuracy was never all that great compared to +ToHit?

"Sad" to hear about Xadin; he's the only one that had me coming back. And laughing.

I'd like to wish only a week for open, but I know that's not gonna happen Probably the 27th; don't remember what the anniversary date is.

Demon Summoning will be my life for quite some time when it hits. Closed beta made me believe again.

    RE: Name change

Not sure if you can still, but the Rednames to talk to would be Ocho, Avatea, or Niviene. Check spelling :S They are not "Devs" but the Moderators/Community Reps.

fix'd. Cuz, ya know, it was just you two all by yourself. Did ya see on the map how everyone else faltered just a little, and then resumed their senses by going my route?

As for breaking out a tank to get people to follow, not on my watch. You know the rules. You proved the rules. Don't fight karma

Dude! You remembered something from teaming with me, and it wasn't a sense of hate, rage, or depression!?!?!?!??!

We should totally team more then

I will take your advice and give channels more of a shot. I've been doing that a little more lately actually, just like how I've been giving the forums a shot (and have liked it so far).
I said hard-pressed, not never. And I honestly don't know. Possible? Voodoo doesn't discriminate...he also doesn't remember so good.

Just to poke a little fun, how come your coalition and you aren't in the same SG?
  22. Quote:
if SGs are meaningless why are they used so much still?
Well, that's a matter of opinion. I don't think they are actually used "so much". I don't even really think they ever were used that much.

Yes, there sure are a whole lot of them. But how many are "active"? How many are filled with multiples of alts of the same people? I know when I do get around to teaming, I'm hard pressed to find characters from the same SG on the team (weekly groups notwithstanding).

You should give Globals more of a chance, but that's your perogative. I've found globals to be far more cohesive than SGs, and I know for a fact many SGs are splintered so badly they've had to use Globals to actually keep people connected.

As for themes, that's about the only thing going for SGs. It can include RP, PvP, costume/power, etc. I can't really attest to those ideas because I'm just not interested in that kind of collective. I'm not all that interested in being part of any collective, honestly, for reasons far more reaching than is necessary in this forum.

    As I said, antithesis.
  23. I'm not above self-deprecation to make a point

The only SGs I belong to are my own; Isolator groups notwishstanding, but that's because someone can't think outside the box for it. An SG of individuals, known or random, is pointless to me and:
    * I don't know 100s (or even dozens) of people in this game, much less have or use a steady, set pool of players to do my bidding. By choice.
    * I certainly could never be labeled as "widly popular" in the forum or game. By choice.
    * Groups don't meet my needs.

The current setup for SGs is annoying, cumbersome, and overall limiting as a whole. The concept was created before Globals/Global Channels and the vastly improved search/seek of team building we have now, and it kind of/sort of helped with teaming back in the day. The lack of investment (IMO) that has been put into SGs quickly made it lose it's intrinsic value. The fact that the *main* point of SGs has been long-shelved kind of adds to that sentiment. The feature may come back, but who really knows.

The best use of SGs I've ever found was for small groups of individuals who routinely played together anyway. And they could do that just as easily without the SG system. That and base building can be a fun time waster.

Some people do need SGs because it's an "easier" way for them to find people. I tend to be able to do things on my own, however.

Essentially for a player that has 60 something vet badges and knows hundreds of people and is wildly popular on the forums or whatever, I can see why a SG can be meaningless to them as other groups meet their needs. But not every player has access to those groups or the same connections.
I'm not entirely sure, but I believe I'm the antithesis of this reasoning in varying degrees
