Now, and this is purely my experience, it seems that longbow would wipe the floor w/ Arachnos. The reason - wardens. These guys are like PvP-ing with a hero that has unlimited end and 8 dmg SOs (unaffected by ED) in their attacks.
I realize that it won't ever be a difinitive battle so as to keep the game going, but who'd you would win in an all out fight?
Personally, I think Malta should just swarm the whole of Paragon city and the Rogue isles and sap everyone into oblivion, but that's just me

At level 25, they are pretty much equal. I ran a couple hundred test battles with random spawns to make it so....
Higher levels, well, no guarantee's.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ummm...can I BUY that functionality? Please.....
I'm serious.
No really....I want to spawn random large groups on the fly and just watch them go nuts.
Please? -

Since this thread has become long and unwieldy, especially with people reading the opening page and taking information from there that has since been corrected later in the thread, I started a new thread with all the updated info. Of course, with Veluta still being buggy, even that needs testing. Please see Hermod's Guide to Unlockable Contacts. I6, ver 2.0.
Thanks.

Quoting to hopefully get people to see this -
Mixed feelings?
You felt good when you did it?
Bad when it happened to you?

Flaming,

I'll post an addon and say: Hollows.......most popular? The hell?????
If it is possible to completely ignore the obvious trolling and illogical people, there are a lot of merits to some complaints from the past. But they are usually still met with the same hackneyed/rehashed responses that don't have a lot of bearing, or a lot of meaning depending on the person.
I wish the silly complaints (then again, that's going to be different for different people) could easily match up with the silly rebuttals, while the serious/true/meaningful concerns and complaints are matched up with the equally serious/true/meaningful rebuttals.
Is that too much to ask for????????? -
I didn't specify if it, but that's what I was alluding too.
The complaints from X people for Y issue are met with responses from Z people for Y issue.
Another issue happens (Y+1), some of those Z people become Xs and can now see the "other side of the fence" from people in the previous issue who didn't like certain things.
But these new Xs, with the same reasoning from previous issues, come across new and old Zs who still feel the same way.
Until the day these new and old Zs also become Xs.
Now do you see why I didn't specify that earlier? I'm horrible at making examples. I blame you for this catastrophe!

ha, it's funny to me how many of the same complaints/rebuttals seem to crop up every issue...

At some point, even you will not be completely happy with changes/additions. It may or may not be the breaking point, but deep down, I'd imagine that they build up over time. For some people, there is a greater threshold to "deal with" the perceived "bad stuff", hopefully being somewhat offset by the "good stuff".
Not everyone can be appeased all of the time. It's just the nature of the beast.
And fyi, apples > oranges
BUT......strawberries >>>>>>>>> apples. 'nuff said. -

But, having said that, I just can't get into a discussion with someone who discounts what I post as a "little rant."
[/ QUOTE ]
You called it a pet peeve yourself. It is a rant. Just like your original thread that you referenced. How is it not just a rant?
FYI, when you pick someone out specifically, you *are* singling them out whether you meant it that way or not. Again, as I already said, I didn't take it personally. But since you did pick me, I have every right to give my side of things.
I expressed what I thought from reading what you wrote. Just like you are reading into what I write as a combative stance. *shrug* Funny how different sides of the same coin turn out like that. Who's right this time?
And that's nice of you to let me know you are done with this........again. I guess that means I can't have a response? I'll make note of that for next time. -
By all means, take a poll.
Several threads have been brought up on that subject recently. They quickly turned to nonsense because the subject matter has no weight.
[ QUOTE ]
The majority of people will be more likely to believe someone with 5000+ posts then someone with 5 post.
[/ QUOTE ] Again, that is their perogative to do so. Doesn't mean anything though.
Many many posts have been accumulated because of the Forum Games section. Take that for what you will. -
[ QUOTE ]
A lot of the problem I see is that people with higher post count like yourself
[/ QUOTE ]
Gonna stop you right there.
That's pointless [censored]. You take post counts however you want. That's your perogative. If someone wants to put artifical weight on [censored] like that, that is *their* problem. There is a reason that stupid star system was removed.
Post counts should be removed too.
And for the record, I don't give a [censored] what Taser has said. I don't care if he agreed with me or not. I didn't post to get anyone's approval.
So what if his information was wrong? As I said previously, that is a BENCHMARK for others to try out. If it don't work for them, and others, that information can be fairly reasoned as being wrong (for now, anyway). Fine. Done with. It's called collaboration for a reason. Answers will eventually be gotten. -
1) You are missing *my* point
2) You are assuming and speculating about myself as well. Go figure.
I didn't call you names; but you did offer the question of "are am I arrogant" and your "proof" was what you have listed on a fan site. Take that as you will. I also didn't take anything said personally.......even though you included ME in your little rant. Pot, kettle, and all that jive.
And I did tell you what I CURRENTLY KNOW. I don't have the healing badge even started on my main badge guy who has done gladiator matches with healing mobs. What else is there? Because I don't have it? I have some PvP mission badges on this same level 50 who didn't get them the "right way". Darn those bugs.
Ya see how "current knowledge" doesn't exactly prove a damn thing. You can't *know* for sure either way. But you can "know" what you have and have done for what you have.
Get over it and your "pet peeve". -
[ QUOTE ]
Not "throwing you in the mix for no reason." Throwing you in the mix because you gave a wrong answer. Thank you for proving my point. Things DO change and not everyone is 100% up to date all the time. This is EXACTLY why you shouldn't answer if you "are not so sure due to [your] experience."
[/ QUOTE ]
How was it a *wrong* answer? Did I lie to the guy on purpose? I gave personal experience. Your personal experience is "more correct" because it came from you? Because you are 100% sure RIGHT NOW? After the last patch? After every patch after I6? You got the healing badge 5 minutes ago? THAT IS THE POINT. Things change with every patch, intentionally or not. No one can be up-to-date with every single one. That includes you. When was the last time you got a healing badge from a Gladiator match? What were all of the circumstances?
[ QUOTE ]
You're right, non issue.
[/ QUOTE ] Yep. Good thing you brought it up then?
[ QUOTE ]
Instead of me proving to you that it works, how about you try it for yourself. That way you'll have your own experience before you take the time to tell someone what you "are not so sure about."
[/ QUOTE ]
Errr try again. You're saying I'm wrong. I only related my experience of *what I did*. It's give and take; if you don't believe me about what I did and what I didn't get out of it, why on earth should I believe what you say? PROVE IT, settle it. Be done with it. Instead of just making noise. Or is this back to the notion that what you say is correct because your experience is somehow more tangible than what I did? I couldn't care less about "verifying" your badges off of a fan site. That's still not Dev-blessed that I know of.
[ QUOTE ]
Be part of the solution, not the problem.
[/ QUOTE ] And what exactly is the solution? The *only* solution is for the Devs to hand-feed the players with 100% correct information. But wait! Even they *do not know* what is going on after every patch. Countless posts come from a Dev that goes along the lines of "it should be...." or "I have to check that out" or even "I thought...." etc. Followed up by "in the next patch, this should be fixed......"
And what exactly is the problem? Because one person's experience doesn't match someone else's doesn't mean it's a problem. There could be bugs, there could be various other factors. Unless someone is flat out lying, consider it a quirk of the system.
I gave PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ABOUT WHAT I DID. Not what I heard. Not from some vague reference by some long forgotten post.
But just in case you are missing the whole point about things changing with every patch: Do you go around re-acquiring every badge after every patch to make sure it's still done the same way?
Some things have to be taken for granted in this kind of system. So before spewing from your high horse, realize that there are factors out of your control.
This is a collaboration. If one person says "I got it this way", that is a starting point for others to re-create what he did to see if it's correct. The Devs even do this for many things related by the players. And a lot of times, they say they can't even re-create the problem/phenomenon themselves. I guess the events didn't happen and the player is a flipping wacko?
And if another person says "I couldn't get X by doing Y", that is another mark for others to go by. No one is taking anything from here as gospel (hopefully. If they are, that's is the problem of that person and that person alone). But these comments are reference marks to go off of, either correct or not.
And with every patch, every damn one of them needs to be completely re-done just to make sure 100% for sure. Because, as you said, if someone isn't completely sure, there isn't any point in even mentioning it right?
You go on and get more badges. Just like me.....through my own experience. -
[ QUOTE ]
Not singling Taser out on this one either. Just saw another example yesterday where someone asked if gladiator healing earned points towards heal badges. She got this answer, "I'm pretty sure that no longer works..." from VooDoo Company,
[/ QUOTE ]
Blah blah blah. No, you aren't singling out Taser.........you're now tossing me into the mix for no reason.
Anyway, my main badge guy (Regen scrapper) doesn't even have the healing badge started.........even after playing gladiator matches after the first patch after I6. Including both Arch mage and Warden.
Hence, that's what I *know*. I don't have a healing badge started after playing many gladiator matches with healing mobs on my team.
[ QUOTE ]
Do I sound arrogant?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep. And pompous. And accusatory. And assuming.
[ QUOTE ]
Want to check my credentials?
[/ QUOTE ]
Those sites run off the honor system. Not exactly "credentials" in any sense of the word. Non issue.
I too don't like people giving information that they aren't very confident in. But in game where things change, and not always noted from the developers to the players, everyone can't be caught up on things 100% of the time, you'll always have some air of "not sure". If you noticed, I didn't flat out say "NO WAY IN HELL DOES THAT WORK ANYMORE" in the respective thread.
Hence, I know the Glad matches use to work for healing (and mob kill counts). But now I'm not so sure due to my experience, and have seen *no proof* convincing me otherwise. Provide that proof (through screenshots in stages I guess), and I'll gladly change my mind. -
Fine. I'll just spill the beans.
I don't want you to get DW. That's all there is to it.
Carry on. -

First Anti-matter from Tina doesn't count unless you can take him out before he defeats himself. I've not seen that happen before.
You only get one more shot at him in Tina's arc later on. He's usually the culprit for people that are sure they have everyone for Dim Warder.
[/ QUOTE ]
Anti-matter 3 or 4 times.
[/ QUOTE ]
Second guess: Bobcat's MoG might negate the damage you do to her, nullifying her as a successful tick towards the badge.
Only other guesses involve you being wrong and just flat out sucking, but I won't mention those........yet. -

Darn shame what ED did to our powers.

No matter what ED did or did not do, it is still a horrible cludge of an approach at doing something.
It does *nothing* for diversification of either powers or slotting. -

My Peacebringer got the "Kaolin Legacy of Earth" badge doing that mission... (he also got the badges he was supposed to get)
I thought it was a villain badge...
None of my other Alts got that badge.
Also... he has a "Lanista" badge but I never even once fought a gladiator battle.
[/ QUOTE ]
Lanista is bugged to hell. I was doing glads with a buddy on an alt. It was his first gladiator match. To say I got owned would be being nice. Not only did I get the 'win' credit I got lanista. Needless to say he was ticket because it muffed up his perfect record on his main lol. But yeah something is screwey with Lanista.
Not sure what requirements are for the Kaolin. A couple of my toons got him as I logged on so assuming he's tied to another badge they might have already had or a kill count they had met.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Kaolin badge should be tied to the "Have 25 badges" Badge. (it's still early for me, but might be tied to the 10 badges badge).
Lanista is tied to your first Glad match win. Doesn't have to be rated. -
*points and laughs at Norwood*
I made you do something you didn't want to do. -
You have to provide without-a-doubt proof for such an accusation now.
