    Gotcha. And thank you for that! So what _I_ read into that info, is that both are probably coming eventually, but they could very well be special-character only for the 'Going Rogue' release, and not available to us until I16 or later... and of course, no one, even Positron knows for sure... features slip when problems arise, and problems always arise.

    Basically, I have been trying to decide where my dollars go, and although I may very well be back eventually, it sounds like I can save myself $150-200 in fees until the game becomes fun for me again.

    I am certain that the Two new signiture characters of 'Going Rogue' have those powersets, & I'm pretty certain that while a 'redname on the forums' has not said it, it is noted in the press release of 'Going Rogue' (cant be arsed to dig up the link) that the expansion will include those two new powersets.

    As for release on Going Rogue, this is something big, with big challenges... I would have to guess at least 4-6 months after I15 is out the door, and a Christmas season release for a new box makes more sense then the 5 year anniversary... they want [u]new[u] subscriptions.

    Just my guesses... so a very uncertain 'maybe' on new powers by October-November, at the earliest (and that is too long for me!).

    We're getting new power sets in issue 16: Going Rogue. At the very least, we can expect Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning. Wouldn't you rather have two new power sets than a port of Dark Blast?

    Want a Dark blaster? Make a corrupter. Me, I'd rather have Dual Pistols.

    A dark blaster is not the same as a dark corruptor, just like a scrapper is not a brute. If they are the same to you, well, that is you, not the AT's.

    As for Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning, have these been stated by a redname anywhere, if so I missed it, or are you quoting conjecture.

    Even if true, we haven't had any new powers or proliferation in a long time, and issue 16 is at least 5-6 months out, I assume, since I15 isn't out the door yet.

    Castle and his crew were entirely consumed by custom critter powers in the 13-14 time frame. There's no dishonesty or secret agendas...there was just a lot of work that went in under the hood for Mission Architect.

    There wasn't any time for powerset proliferation then, and with the work being done for future content, there's not really a lot of time to do it now. Proliferation is very low hanging fruit, but we're really jammed right now and I honestly can't say when we might be able to squeeze in another batch. What we need always ends up taking precedence over what we want, and right now there's a lot of need.

    Well, speaking for me, as a dedicated altaholic, new powersets and combinations are what have kept me playing for 5 years straight. Proliferation is a poor-man's version of new sets, but I enjoyed experimenting with new builds all the same.

    But with nothing new for a while, and nothing new on the horizon....

    Look, I have played this game for at least 10-20 minutes a day ( and often MUCH longer ) for almost every day of those 5 years. And now, for more than 2 weeks, I haven't even logged on, just checked these Dev postings once a day.
    I understand you have limited resources, and can't please everyone, but even just giving one thing, like dark blast to blasters, or whatever, would keep me playing for another issue. As it is, with no hope of anything new in sight, I think I am deactivating my account. It is been great fun, and maybe I'll be back in a year when there is something new to play with.

So, looking at different builds, and trying to make comparisons between say, */DA, which has Death Shroud (12.5 damage according to Mids, whatever that means) vs. some other armor without a damage aura. Is that 12.5 damage per second (dependent on accuracy and slotting, etc.), or per 'tick', or something else?

    How long is a 'tick' anyway?

  7. My current machine is gasping, so I'm looking for a new one. I have never built one from scratch, so I'd rather have one pre-built.

    In the past I went with Alienware, and loved it, but that was pre-Dell. Cyberpowerpc runs lots of adds, but I have heard horror stories about their service.

    Basically, what components should I be looking for, and where should I be shopping?

    I'm am hoping to be spending $600-$900 for the box ( I have all the other stuff.)
  8. I will be getting a new system soon, and I'd like to avoid hours of downloading and patching...

    I have an external hard drive... any chance I can drop the directories on to my new system and cut my patching time, or do I need to do it from scratch?
  9. The title says it all... I play arcs with spawns of 4 or 6 or 8, but my arcs, with the same toon, set on challenge level 2, always have one or two per spawn.

    What am I doing wrong?
