    ccc settings:
    AA: use application settings
    AF: use application settings
    A.I.: disable catalyst a.i.
    mipmap level: high quality
    wait for vertical refresh: off, unless application specifies
    AA mode: adaptive multi-sample aa
    opengl settings: triple buffering (unckecked)

    FSAA 2x, AO off and max detail level, here's the result:

    how do you explain those edges??

    Update: the problem lies with AA only, no matter which settings are on CCC, I always get bad results with AA. 2x AA and x8 AA results are the same, x4 AA looks a bit better and still buggy.

  5. I was running a brute with two demon MMs and more people (including another MM), doing some mishes.

    In caves I couldn't reach mobs, demons were everywhere and I was tempted to /stuck to flee from them, too bad.

    small does not mean it is less powerful...look at Kurse

    It is the same concept: there were two Vanex, EU account renamed to Vanex_EU, US account renamed to Vanex_NA. This could be ported to global names aswell: both added a suffix and free global handle rename for both.

    Another option is: oldest global will stay as it is, newer global is renamed (suffix?) and given a free global handle rename.

    Once there are no collisions merging is simple enough.

    Get a new user, tell him to choose between 4 or 11 servers, two communities, which one will he choose?
    Get a new user, tell him there are 15 servers instead, one single community, one single City of Heroes/Villains

    Check NCSoft reports, they're considering a single game with 15 servers since march 2005...
  10. Thankfully we do not need servers merge, it will require more work and user hassle than a server list merge. I'll explain what I see as issues with both:

    Servers merge:
    • global names collision (will impact: emails, global friends, AE)
    • character names collision (will impact: toons, server friends, player notes)
    • SG names collision (will impact: coalitions)
    • channel names collision (could impact channel size limit)
    • same character slots (could impact server slot limit)
    Server list merge:
    • global names collision (will impact: emails, global friends, AE)
    • more character slots
    the fact here is that global names collision was already handled when they merged EU and US forums;
    a similar rule could be applied in some time and if there is the will, same as stated by Judgement_Dave:

    With what I can guess (cross-server teaming) and what I can reasonably hope for (server list merge) I tried to answer your questions.

    I know they don't want to merge the two lists for their reasons, anyway I still think it is a positive idea for any CoX player (past, current and future ones).

    About purples: come on, you cannot full-purple all your alts without farming..

    3. IOsets and purples, those discourage alt-ing, very heavily unbalance PvP, favor farm and PL, and some more devious effects
    4. features for soloplay (teamsize diff setting, better avg xp per mob in soloplay, debt nerf, DXP, blasters shooting while sleeping, ...), is CoX turning to City of Soloing?

    #1: direct merge: one account with all toons, all servers, choice of which global handle to use, veteran time is the sum and cannot exceed the current max

    #2: user X and user Y have to be the same (credit card details?), if OK: direct merge

    #3: user X is asked which EU and US game accounts to be merged: direct merge for the selected ones, repeat if necessary.

    #4: same check as #2, if OK go with #3
