  1. Pffft.. I don't remember him using his bow at all. It was just a costume piece. He killed the wolf with a sharp pointy object and then when his world fell apart the devs wished real hard and gave it back..

    I'm thinking scrapper?
  2. I think we mostly agree that a proactive method is preferred... How do you convince the devs of this? Or better yet get them to take action at all in a semi-reasonable time frame
  3. Got traps on the brain, I have a traps/beam defender that just eats things. And yes it's assault rifle I was thinking of...

Not a power boost but add a secondary soft control like was talked about earlier. A fear effect or maybe knock down.. Hell even a 4 second confuse (fog of war type thing, panic) to keep the alpha off you with an aoe or to down a mezzer before he can mez you. I really like the idea of situational soft control added to blaster attacks, I just think it would be great if we could choose when they kick in.

I know it would need extra thought for certain sets but I think it's the best path to choose.

Sorry if this isn't reading clearly.. it's what I get for replying with my phone.
  4. Just a quick thought... Why not tie soft control effects into aim and buildup? Admittedly some sets might need a little more thought like devices, or archery, but I think that would add to survivability perfectly. You'd still need to make hard decisions on when to use it and it would be proactive instead of reactive like previously suggested effects when you get mezzed. I think I'd want it in ask powers to some degree as well, not just ST.

    Just a thought.
  5. I really REALLY like the idea of adjusting the tier 1 and 2 powers when mezzed. I am kind of curious as to why I haven't read a suggestion to have a damage boost while mezzed. Something on the order of bumping the damage of the tier 1 and 2 to the tier 2 and 3 and maybe a recharge buff as well. Think about it as the blaster's rage at being helpless and frustration being channeled into the tier 1 and 2 attacks.

I think I would prefer to keep the AoE soft control idea to one specific type. I'd think either knockback or terrorize would fit thematically as well as keep it from being over powered. Knockback is a detriment on teams mostly, especially since you can't move to position mob movement, so it would hardly be considered over powered and can be explained as the added oomph due to the frustration and rage of the mezzed blaster. A terrorized mob can still fight back occassionally and can be explained as panic that this blaster who is supposedly controlled is now frothing at the mouth and dealing just as much damage in a frantic manner.

I wouldn't make it a 100% proc, however, more like 50% to 60%. If there is a recharge buff when mezzed you'll get proc's enough to survive while still being able to take down mobs but you're not going shut down all damage.

That's what I would like, a 50% to 60% soft control AoE proc with a damage and recharge buff so you aren't completely gimped. Mez would still mean something but it would be much easier to work through. At the very least it wouldn't be such a deadly impediment.
  6. Or they can make it a toggle maybe.. 2 second animation and you just turn the toggle off for remote detonation. Makes much more sense for a fluid environment.
  7. Maybe someone has shot this down but I'm wondering if it would be worth having a Force Feedback proc in Gale.

Can anyone think of why this would be a bad idea? I'm not looking for damage but I bet the thing procs every to evry other use.
  8. You want to see a Nova crawling on the ground, run the sewer trial. The Hydra Heads seem to have a -fly debuff and you drop the ground all the time. It's really annoying.
  9. Playing around again this time with purples. Went for S/L Def first with +Rech second. It has soft capped S/L (well... 44.2% which is close enough, especially with power boost up half the time you're pushing 60% S/L which is overkill), with perma-hasten.

Now, it's a more expensive build but I think one day my 30 DS/Dark is going to shoot for something like this.

  10. I would probably put a Call to Arms +def for pets in there. Slot Summon demons with hami-o's, I think you get from it that way than just slotting a set. I swapped Crack Whip with Lash. Crack Whips debuff lasts only 2s according to mids but Lash lasts 6s. I know it's not an AoE but it also fits melee ST sets for more S/L Def. I personally would have taken combat jumping or hover and slotted more LotG +rech but that doesn't seem to be the way you want to go.

I might go more this route than what you have, it caps S/L Def as well as putting the Soulbound Allegiance change for buildup in Demon Prince:

  11. Oh, and you might want to consider putting 2 Centriole's in Summon Demons. It will cap resistance and damage with just those 2 enhancements. Capped resistance shields from the Ember Demon is always nice.
  12. Instead of Fireball/Blast you might want to consider picking up one of your primary's attacks. Not for you to do damage mind you, but for the -res on them. Corruption has 1 less second a duration than Lash and has the same -res of 9.38% AND it's ranged as well.. I believe you can stack it for almost -20% res which on top of a single stack of Tar Patch is -50% res.

I know most people scoff at MM attacks but in this case it might be worth a second look as 9.38% or 18.76% more damage coming from all your pets is much more attractive to me than the damage from a fireball/Blast.

Just looking in Mids, if you picked up hover or CJ, Scorpion shield and lash with 4 kinetic combats you can hit the S/L defense soft cap as well as add more LotG 7.5's. But wait there's more! You can get power boost which will make Howling Twilight a 25 second mag 2 stun (and it's auto-hit!) every 58 seconds... Power Boost would come back in around every 40s. Fearsome Stare's duration would be increased to 30s as well. Not to mention the -ToHit for several powers gets boosted too.

Mace Mastery is the way to go, between Scorpion Shield and Power Boost, and I think you might want to look your primary's attacks again.
  13. To be honest, I would almost rather they drop the damage even lower in favor of an even higher recharge rate.

I have a Fire/Fire blaster who barely gets scratched when I use this. Mostly because anything that gets sat down dies before it can get back on its feet again. The knockdown is priceless.

Hell, if I could get it up every spawn I'd even forgo the damage component completely. I spew enough AoE without it. Teleport in, everyone has a seat and then the roller coaster starts.
