This probably doesn't need to be asked but might as well be through,

LH, do these TF changes also apply to the Oroborous Taskforces and the Flashback Taskforces themselves? I hope so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes they do. Flashback missions use the same code as Task / Strike Force Missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So does that mean if I'm on a task force and everyone but me quits (for whatever reason), so that I'm effectively soloing the task force, will the AV become an EB?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, if everyone "quits" the TF will disband. If one person is logged off but didn't quit, you will still have to fight an AV I believe. Pretty sure TF AV's are hardcoded to spawn as AV's.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, everyone quits besides you so the TF doesn't disband. If the Ouroborus missions use the same task force rules, and I can run the Maria Jenkins arc in Ouroborus by myself on heroic and have the AV's be EB's, I was wondering if this translated over to real TFs?

  3. I was never convinced that this exploit needed to be fixed. Not everyone soft loads TFs. I've never done so. Some people do soft load. But it is a really creative way for people to control the spawn sizes.

Let us be awarded for being creative. Not told that we are not playing the game they way you want us to be playing. There needs to be some wiggle room.

This exploit was not that big of a deal, in my opinion. There was really no reason to start mucking about with it. Yes it's an exploit, but it is a clever exploit that doesn't really hurt the game that much, except help put IO's into the market at a cheaper price.

I can see how that is game breaking. /sarcasm

Edit: Obligatory mention that I'm first after a red name.
  4. It's nice to know that the devs are willing to listen to what we have to say and are willing to work with us. I like that in devs.
  5. I got on my level 50 tank and then my level 25 fir/kin troller on my second account and beat up Banished Pantheon a lot. By the end of the weekend, he was level 33.

So mostly I played with myself...

Please define 'night' used in the referenced quote.

    6:00 PM EST?

12:00 AM EST (Actually Monday morning)

When the server resets on Monday Morning?

    8:13 MST?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I believe that past double xp weekends have ended with the server reset on Monday AM.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They usually run from Friday at noon (EST) to Sunday at noon (EST).

    [/ QUOTE ]

That one I know is completely wrong...unless you are in some weird time zone, or maybe live in Ouroborus.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, that's when they say the event goes from. How come we never get good information?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I believe they usually list the times as "noon to noon" or "midnight to midnight" but in practice it usually runs from server maintenance to server maintenance - and the devs just say "you got more double xp time than we advertised, quit whining

    [/ QUOTE ]

Those jerks!!! Giving us more that they say we will be getting.

Oh, I will whine... I will whine.

    About something.

    Really long hair

Also, there needs to be more long hair options for male characters. The one long hair they have now could be better.

LOTRO - only 5 total? that's no good...

If they had sidekicking and exemplaring, I don't see why people would miss out on so much content, but just exemplaring is better than nothing. If you have neither, the game is missing a vital feature.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, only 5. And there are like 7 different AT's. So you can never play all the different things that are available.
  12. Amarsir pointed out a lot of good things. People may have problems with the amount of instanced missions in CoX, but they are all scaled to your level and difficulty. You never have to worry about coming up on enemies that are 10 levels beyond, or below your level. Outside of a few bugs here and there of course.

I think the problem in the other games is that they don't bother to put unique instances in each area. In CoX, a team could go in the same door doing the same mission as my team, but we go to different maps and never see each other. In other MMO's (ok, I've seen this with LOTRO) there is just the one instance and you can have multiple teams running around which could mean you will have to wait to fight the key creature or wait for the object you need to respawn.

I think the way CoX has done things is much better in this regard. I think because 90%+ of our missions are instanced, things like scaling were considered. In other MMO's it's 90% street sweeping, or similar things outside of any instances. So they just don't think about things that we take for granted here in CoX.

I've mentioned in the LOTRO forums about how they need to have sidekicking. It was generally poo-pooed. They did like the exemp idea, but not too keen on the sidekicking. The player would lose out on too much content they figured. Of course that game only gives you 5 total toons, so it's not like you will be doing the same content 12 times like you can in CoX, but still.

I like being able to sidekick and can't understand the arguments against it.
  13. I have to say that I absolutely love the fact that CoX has mostly instanced missions and how they are set up. The only other MMO I play is LOTRO, and I got to tell you, camping spawns for a loot drop is not fun, not to mention loot ninjas, and kill stealers.

Things are much, much better in CoX. Our loot system is superior. You don't have to actually "loot" a body and everyone has a chance of getting something, not just the person who initially tags the mob.

You guys have crappy keyboards I see. You should upgrade.

    Good luck with the move!

    [/ QUOTE ]

While certainly not as nice as, say, a G15, those little Dell USB keyboards are actually pretty nice.

They're tiny since the bezel conforms to the shape of the keyboard, yet the keyboard itself is still full-sized. They're also very easy to clean. The keys have a nice range of movement and are nicely weighted so if you touch type, you almost never make accidental 'landing' strikes.

While they come standard with most 'business-class' Dell workstation PCs these days. I wouldn't mind buying one separate to use as a 'lug-around' keyboard for configuring headless machines.

Now the Dell machines themselves tend to have some crappy hardware. The on-board audio for the Optiplex line is notoriously flaky.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I guess, I'm a keyboard snob. I like th curved, ergonomic keyboards. They don't make my wrists hurt.

  17. I know this thread is old, but I just have to add, that, as a DM/Regen, I really like teaming with Brutes in the RWZ. In a team of 8, I easily felt that me and the brute could take all the rikti on the left side of the map and leave the other side for the rest of the team. It was crazy fun.
  18. The only problems I've ever had was when my check card expired and I didn't change my info to update the new card.

But in light of all these problems, can we get lifetime memberships please?
  19. I'm an artist, and have had this happen to me. I would go back to old artwork and just copy them. Or copy other peoples artwork. You are drawing, but don't have the stress of *having* to be creative. After awhile it works itself out.

Of course, any health problems might throw this off, but this is what I do.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
I gotta say, this scares the crud right out of me. Not because I have anything against NCSoft, mind you. I have nothing bad to say about them. Honest.

It's just that this game has been so great so far with the Cryptic team, and it makes me nervous when people start talking about messing with something that works.

What worries me more is that I didn't see States, War Witch, Ghost Widow, or Manticore.

I dunno. I guess I just fear change.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But it's the same team, minus Statesman, but Jack hasn't been a big part of CoX for a year. The only real change is that they will have more resources and a streamlined production hierarchy. Even Back Alley Brawler and War Witch are stoked about the new change.

Now all they have to do is hire me and I'll really be happy.
