Aside from perhaps the Kryptonite, Supes' weaknesses always seem to be cobbled in for storyline specific purposes. I recall at least one occasion where he was saying how it felt so good to go all-out on some major bad guy during a fight because he always had to walk on egg shells because he was afraid of breaking everything around him. In that particular fight, so much damage had already been done and so much more would be done by not winning that he would do more harm than good by holding back.

This was also covered in follow-up posts, which you apparently didn't read either. Popular Western comics don't allow for heroes with the power to destroy planets, and those that do either are able to do so via some extremely temporary extenuating circumstances (e.g., Marvel's "Cosmic Force") or are rapidly de-powered or rebooted in the next story line.

More over, "anime" isn't really a genre, it's an art style. There are many genres of anime...

No, I quoted something to give you flack for criticizing anime for something Western ( and, really, ANY animation/comic style ) is guilty of. It's not a matter of whether you acknowledge it or not, but the fact that you seem to feel it's acceptable in formats other than anime... As I've said before in this thread, there's Western stuff out there that makes the most twisted Anima/Manga stuff look tame.

I'm sorry, here I thought that the "opposite of what we need" would be making people feel they are being forced into a play style they don't enjoy. People who want to team will. Those who don't will quit if the game starts forcing them to team.

Yes there are no characters at all like that in western comics.... /sarcasm

And not to mention any adult-themed sub-categories, since this game is T-rated (though that obviously applies equally to Western art styles as well)

Here's a thought: If they add them and you don't like them, DON'T PANCAKING USE THEM!!!!!! They are options. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they aren't.

Let's not forget costume sets, since that one is more relevant to weapon skins. That still supports your point, though.

Depends on the accuser's definition of "money grubbing territory". In this case, it was a perfectly valid response.

Yes, it says that VIP players aren't elitist jerks who are willing to move off of their home servers where they have a long-established community they are a part of just to stay away from the premium players. There's no reason to move to Exalted, so they don't. It does NOT, however, say a damn thing about the quality of the perks overall from being a VIP.

I'd specifically point to the /b/ section of 4chan being guilty for a LOT of the trolling idiocy on the internet these days. Have you never heard the term "b-tard"?

I just don't get them thinking they were going to beat WoW. That is where I felt the level of hubris in the room need to be counterbalance. I am sure as usual in the corporate environment, someone expressed some doubt about that, but probably was let go short there after, for not being a "team" player. Telling the truth in the corporate environment can get you fired.
It'd be like a new fast food chain gunning out the door to top McDonald's. Ain't gonna happen. Well, it may happen, but it'd be insane to make that your goal and plan your whole business model around achieving it, including how much you invest in development of your product and marketing. ( Sure, McDonald's is kinda crappy even for fast food, but they're too well established to be knocked off the top of the hill... )

Yeah, the hairstyles on some of 'em are my only complaint.

Of course, I also like the CoT revamp, so what do I know.

Hentai doesn't help anime's case either. There's a godawful amount of truly sick subject matter in it.
You've obviously never been exposed to the HUGE amount of western comic/animated porn out there. There's a lot of stuff that can make the sickest hentai look tame that comes from right here in the USA.

So I have finally come to this particular forum to pose the following question:

    Why all the Manga hate?
4chan. That's about all the answer you need. Anime became popular, and the trolls ( who are often closet hipsters ) started hating it just for that reason. The trolling hate became so prolific that it started to influence some non-trolls' opinions as well.

I get that there are people who dislike anime and came to that opinion completely on their own. But the rabid HATE? Nah, that's the troll-influence speaking. For example, if you can't handle the game having influences from a genre you don't like and feel the need to flame anyone who has the gall to suggest ANYTHING from that genre be added to the game? You need to seriously reevaluate how you came to your opinions on that genre in the first place.

Just still shaking my head every time I see people apparently basing their perceptions of "success" and "failure" numbers off of that other behemoth MMO. Frankly, if they budgeted their development so that they'd need more than 500k subscribers to turn a profit, they're setting themselves up for a huge chance of failure.

So, what exactly qualifies an old player as a "great" old player? Do they have to agree with your OPINION? What does that make the rest of us who've been around since beta?
