  1. And re: EJI's post, I was replying under the assumption that the OP was set on their powersets. if that's not the case, I'd recommend a Rad/Sonic Fender or a Fire/Rad Ruptor for this purpose, assuming that they are at least set on Rad Emission. If not, replace Rad with Cold in both cases.

This isn't something that I've ever bothered to run numbers on, so I'd actually be curious to see if the +dmg added by scourge would be enough to counteract and surpass the native +30% damage bonus the inherent gives defenders, on top of the higher debuff numbers. For this situation, my assumption (*and it's exactly that*) was that the defender would be quicker.
  3. Beam Rifle has better ST than Archery does with its native -regen, so if all you want to do is solo big game, yes it would be better... However, Archery paired with debuff- Especially a set like Rad- Can solo all the same big game. In other words, Rad/Arch can do all the same things ST wise that Rad/Beam can do, except Beam will be faster at it.

Now, if you're taking total package into account, you'll have to compare AOE damage also. Rain of Arrows can be used three times as often as Overcharge, and Explosive Arrow (combined with an AOE immobilize from a Patron Pool to alleviate the KB) can be cycled very often against large mobs, and takes a FF +recharge proc that will help to bring RoA up even more often. To summarize, Archery will provide substantially more AoE damage, while still being able to tackle all the same hard ST's as BR, albeit slower.

I would never advise skipping LR on a Rad build. Yes, Beam DOES -regen, but I don't think it's possible for Beam to consistently floor AV or GM regeneration on its own. LR will still make a noticeable difference in your ST killing speed regardless of which set you play.
  4. Yes this information is all equally applicable for GM's, though some emphasis might have to be adjusted.

yes, Aimed Shot and Snap Shot are both required. Every 1-3 seconds you will need to be doing something- A gapless attack chain is very vital. Sure, there are things you'll need to interrupt it for, but if you look at the cooldowns on those things- Hasten 120s assuming you perma it, Aim 90s base, ~25-30s w/ high recharge, LR 30s assuming you perma it, AM 120s assuming you perma it, these things are all on relatively long cooldowns (excluding Aim which should always be cycled instead of Aimed Shot or Snap Shot when it's up.) You'll still have enough downtime between click powers where having a gapless ST chain would be beneficial when it comes to speed and efficiently defeating your target.

Using AOE attacks in your ST chain isn't something I'd recommend. They can't be worked into higher DPS chains than your ST chain can, plus the end cost is 2-3x higher than Snap Shot on both Fistful and Explosive Arrow.
  5. The first thing that's striking me here is that your Light Form isn't capping your s/l resistance. If you replace the Reactive Armor Res/End/Rech with Reactive Armor: Resistance and add Agility Core Paragon in your Alpha Slot, you will cap your s/l/e/n/f/c/t resistance in all forms while keeping LF perma.

Reform Essence is a much more viable self heal than Essence Boost due to the marginally shorter base recharge- Because of this, I recommend switching the Doctored Wounds set to RE in order to get the most self healing as often as possible. With Agility Core Paragon, E-Boost is still perma even one-slotted with a generic Heal IO.

I don't understand the slotting of Nova ST attacks- Especially with instant form shifting coming up, there's just no need to slot those. Human form has the best single target attack chain in G Bolt>G Blast>R Strike. You can swap the Decimation set to Bolt and Apocalypse to Blast, and you'll need to find an extra couple of slots for R Strike (you need a Hecatomb proc and a -res proc added to it.) One of these slots can be pulled from dwarf stomp. -Res is best in ST attacks so that slot is best served in R Strike.

You're going to gain more from proc slotting in ST attacks than AOE's since procs aren't going to make a huge overall difference in AOE killing speed but can add up to a very substantial increase in Single Target damage, so keep that in mind when evaluating your proc placement.

You definitely don't need a second slot in Conserve for your tri form build- Best case scenario, it'll be up every other LF crash. A second recharge IO won't help you bring it up every crash and you could use that (as a general example) to 5 slot your Dwarf heal in order to pick up an extra recharge bonus. It would be one thing if you ended up with a leftover slot that wouldn't be better served elsewhere but in my opinion this is not the case for your build.

The chance for BU proc in Nova isn't something that I have ever seen proven to add enough of an increase in performance to be worth the slot. There are many other more viable options for that slot in my opinion.

A one-slotted Solar Flare isn't going to do you any good, even if you assume the power is worth taking in the first place. You'd be better served spending that power choice on your fifth LOTG mule.

Armageddon would be better slotted in Dwarf Flare- Since it can be cycled so much more often, you'll see a higher proc rate there.

You could definitely easily get the slots to build your s/l defense up to the 32.5% mark- If you take all my previous suggestions into account, you'll realize that you will be much better served overall by using my slotting suggestions and having the ability to softcap your s/l defense in all forms with a single small purple inspiration.

This is my Peacebringer's tri form build which is notably cheaper than yours and honestly superior mathematically- Maybe this combined with my suggestions will help you out with your build. Turn accolades and incarnates on.

  6. I think Kheldian Fridays needs to branch out into Dark Armor Doomsdays! Purple Dark Armor only!
  7. Well DPS isn't the biggest factor in soloing AV's and GM's, especially on a support AT. Your -regen and -res debuffs and keeping them up will be the most important thing. Not that you can just toggle on your debuffs and stare at your screen until your target dies, but Archery on a Defender or a Corruptor probably isn't going to take down AV's on its own.

Basically you need to build for sustained recovery whilst running your Radiation toggles (and other toggles helping you survive the encounter) and build enough recharge to keep Lingering Radiation perma. You should be able to down AV's easily without having to worry about using EMP- Basically, you'll want to cast RI and EF on your target and then run an attack chain of Snap Shot>Aimed Shot>Blazing Arrow gaplessly, ED capped for damage, pausing to cast Lingring Radiation every time it's up and AM/RA every time you feel it's necessary. You'll also want to work in Aim every time it's up, but never use Aim in place of Blazing Arrow. Replace Aimed Shot for Aim in your attack chain every time you have the option to do so. Softcapping Ranged defense would probably be the most affordable and reasonable way to ensure that you have the survivability to accomplish your goal.
  8. Both the Defender and Corruptor versions *can* solo AV's and GM's. If you're solo, the defender will benefit from a 30% damage bonus via Vigilance and the naturally stronger debuff numbers that Defenders have vs. Corruptors. Scourge is only going to be helping you when your target is under the 50% HP mark. With all of this considered I want to say the Defender would be faster for your purpose.

Glowing Touch has the same base heal as Aid Other, actually. Granted Aid Other has a 10s vs. 4s base recharge, but on a high recharge build both can generally be used as often as they would be useful for the same end result. I would also like to see a healing focus added to Peacebringers in order to give them the team utility that Warshades have with their mass control.

    Unrelated:

I'm thinking now about the many suggestions that have been made for Kheldian Epic Pools. I think a great candidate for the Warshade side of one of these pools would be an Absorb Pain clone that has similar limitations to Repair from the Bots Mastermind set- Warshade's pets are often useless on higher difficulty settings since we have no native means of counteracting the amount of counteracting the damage they incur. An AP clone for Warshades that could only be used on Warshade pets would be completely balanced and very useful imo.
  11. Most important:

    1. AIB's Photon Seekers solution, plus the KB changed to KD.

    2. Solar Flare changed from KB to KD.

    3. Pulsar's mag, cast, recharge and endurance cost normalized to Gravitic Emanation.

    Would be nice:

    1. Base s/l/e/n/f/c/t resistance granted with Light Form cut by about 30% in order to add 25% psionic resistance.

    2. Base recharge of conserve power lowered to 90s.

    3. Reform Essence base recharge doubled and made into a PBAOE heal.

    4. Glowing Touch base recharge doubled and the base heal increased by 50%.

    For all Kheldians:

    1. Toggle suppression.

    2. Nukes made crashless with a 60s base recharge and only accessible as nova form powers. RoA damage scale.

    3. A tanker storm kick mechanic for both t1 Dwarf attacks- 10% defense to all, unstackable.

I've been trying (and failing) to work provoke into my build for this reason. If you go Mu Mastery, the taoe immobilize does help out a lot in this respect, but it can still be annoying.

    Arch/MM/MM

For wider defense coverage I suggest building your positional defenses to 32.5% with the Agility Core Paragon. This will allow you to keep hasten and Drain Psyche perma, your s/l resistance at 50% and your energy resistance at 30-33%. I don't have time to look at your build right now but I definitely don't recommend building more than 2 types to the softcap since Arch/Ment benefits so much from global recharge. Either just softcap s/l or hit 32.5% to positions. The latter would mean you're softcapped to everything with a small purple.

For ST? I don't agree. ST meaning AV's/EB's/other situations where how much ST you do actually matters. That's the context your quoted post was responding to.

That's 3 powers in your secondary right there, wasted due to bad AT design.

Geko's simply stating the obvious. You can keep defending Peacebringer vicissutudes all you want, but he'll still be right. No other AT in the game pays so much to get so little, and I'm talking from a lvl 53 perma-lightform experience. Also, team with more Controllers might not be the right thing to point out concerning PB mez protection, not when you need at least 3 Controllers in the team to achieve a minimum of Mag 3 status protection...
The shields are useless? What about if you want to try leveling up without forms? Since you know, Kheldians are versatile and don't START at level 50? Leveling a Kheld with the resist shields and no forms is about as good as leveling any other AT that is designed to be durable, minus mez protection, the T9's are just icing on the cake from that perspective. At the high end, I'll go a week without posting (and that's a big deal for me) if any other build in the game, tankers included, can prove themselves to be as broadly survivable as my human form Warshade on 54x8, no enemy groups barrered.

Yeah playing a PB is so hard. Playing a PB is dull as hell for me compared to my Warshade and my Blaster (read: The definition of tankmages in COH.) You click a few powers every so often. Oh, so hard. Duz not compute. Click LF when it's up. Use one of your fast cycling heals for the HP crash, the -end doesn't do -recovery so it can be completley ignored every other converve power cycle- Other than that, eat a blue or hit Ageless and qq.

So you have experience playing a perma LF PB and still think PB's don't have status protection...? I wish I didn't have to say this, but I honestly believe at this point that you don't know LF gives status protection. Also, Clarion. If you can perma LF, you can get Clarion. Not that you'll even need it. I soloed some 54x8 Rikti on my Peacebringer yesterday and used my t1 Clarion twice for the whole map, because I didn't feel like switching to Dwarf form, and I could've easily tapped a break free macro instead. I just think Clarion's animation is prettier.
  17. On a more related note I encourage Arbiter Hawk to select my build on the premise that it is better than the other builds as well as being one of the first posted in the thread. Also I like winning at things, and this post could go one of two ways. I also like gambling. On a more serious note, I'm 90% sure that my build is BEST BUILD! THB 2012! Wait, did I say serious? Well, I guess I'm only half joking, if I'm being honest with myself. I wish my nerdy inner-dialogue/monologue could win things on its own.
  18. Rad/Sonic Fender.. I'm sure a Mastermind would work too but against something like Scrappy for instance you'd be home free on a Rad/Son without any micromanaging or other headaches involved with relying on NPC's to kill other NPC's for you...

Might as well watch the NPC fights between the factions by the Ferry in Sharkhead if you wanna solo stuff on a Mastermind! (*ba dumtsh*)

Do you happen to have regen numbers on weakened Hami? I'm pretty sure that Ageless +G Well would do the trick hold wise and we already know nothing else would be an issue, assuming the weakened Hami has less or comparable regen than an even level AV I should be able to pull it off with force-gimped attack chains.

  21. Yea Fire is king of St as far as I am aware- The only anomaly in that department is Beam Rifle. I'd be interested in seeing how a Fire/MM perma DP did against a Beam/MM perma DP on a solo Giant Monster no cheating (pets/temps/insps) run. I don't even own BR so this is a test I couldn't perform myself.
