    Life Drain

    I think it is obvious from the responses that dark blast needs to be looked at in particular life drain and maybe torrent. A change to life drain to be equal to other 3rd tier single target blasts like bitter ice blast et al would seem fair to me and make the set much more useable.

    So how do we go about partitioning for dark blast to be looked at?

    That's an awesome suggestion for torrent. Its simple and would make torrent a really good power. The Dev just need to re-use the animation from psychic tornado and we are done!

    This is just as relevant and maybe more so to Corruptors but does anyone else think that Dark Blast life drain should get a damage boost like dark melée siphon life did? The change to Siphon life basically changed DM from a so so set to one of the most popular and made it a lot more playable.

    I think the same thing will happen if the Devs made a similar change to drain life. In it's present state, unless your other set does not have a self heal like storm, any other set like dark it's basically redundant and skipped. If they upped the damage then I think it will be more widely taken and make the set overall more useable. To be honest dark blast could do with a 3rd high damaging blast to have a viable single target attach chain to make it inline with other blast sets.

    What does everyone else think?
  5. Ok for some reason my system wont accept any of the 180 - 190 drivers. I thought I managed to install the lastest driver 195.62 but windows actually rolled back to the last version 169.25. When I try to install any of the 190s drivers my system (VISTA) seems to reject it with a error 46 message.

    I am at my wits end here.

    Any ideas?

    Sorry for taking so long to come back but I fell ill and was bed bound for a few days.

    So I downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia website 195.62 and used a driver sweeper to make sure the old one was completely removed. I loaded up CoX and started playing. Everything seemed fine for 10min then it happened as I tried to enter SG base. The screen turned black and game just stalled.

    I have ran another COH Helper below. Does anyone know what is wrong or what I need to do now?

    Thanks for the quick reply. I rolled back to 169.25 yesterday to see if would resolve my problem because on the sticky thread posted by Tease suggested it is the best driver to use it because it is pre-physx.

    I was using 177 before I rolled back.

  9. Hi all

    I am having real problems with CoX recently and I have tried all the fixes suggested by Tease with no success so I am hoping someone on the forums can help resolve my problem.

    Let me give a bit of background:

    I run Vista 32bit (never had any problems with XP) on my new computer which I got about 4 months ago. At the beggining I occasionally get "Nvlddmkm stopped responding but has recovered" but it was not frequent enough for me to be really concerned.

    BUT... literally 5 days ago I started to get the same error but with the additional message "Error 14" and it would crash after 5 mins of game play. From then I tried every solution on google I could find and the fixes Tease suggested on the sticky post but nothing has worked.

    So far I only managed to fix it to the point I can get 10min of play before it just hangs and completely stalls (doesnt even get an error message just freezes).

    I have downloaded COH HELPER and posted the results below. I am almost at the point of giving up to either play another game so if anyone can resolve my problem it will be much appreciated.

  10. End usage is definately a problem for the build and I am worried about slotting dark consumption as an attack but I needed to to get the 3.75% melée def. An alternative is to slot performance shifter in DC and slot dark regeneration with the attack set for the melée def. I was thinking with life drain I probable won't need the heal in it as much.

    This does mean I lose the theft of essence proc. Ahhh the choices!!

    Yes you are right my main concerns for this build is the relatively low hp and endurance. I thought about going body for PP and Conserve Energy but for concept reasons I want to stick with dark mastery.

    I'm also a little bummed I can't softcap range and melée def without relying on tohit debuff. I'm still trying to play around to achieve but looking difficult.

    I'm going to sink a lot of inf into this one so I want to make sure I get it right.

    Thanks for the alternative slotting of dark regen I will have a look when I get home and load up mids.

    This is my first post since the EU & US forums combined. I have been playing COH since I3 and have several IO'd out 50s mostly scrappers. I always wanted to do a DM/DA scapper but always got put off with the heavy end and survivability. Now with IOs set I am now really going to try and build one that can solo AVs and do at least +2/8 missions.

    I have come up with this build so far and would really appreciate if you can all make comments to improve it. Inf is not an issue, I have around 4 billion and it is constantly getting bigger so I can always step up inf generation if needed,

  14. I wish they would remove the redraw from using click heals as there is no good reason for it to happen. I know its a minor nuisence at best but it just doent seem right that your weapon just disappears just to heal
  15. Now that the Devs have fixed Stalker placate and weapon redraw for Ninja Blade are they going to do the same for click heals like reconstruction? I have a Kat/Regen and its well annoying everytime I heal and have to pull my weapon out again during a fight. Not only it makes no sense for a chr to do that but it also looks rubbish.

    I got a Mind/Psy dom that has got permadom but I sometimes miss clicking Hasten in time (domination on auto) so I dont get full affect and domination drops. Since you can only have 1 power on auto at a time Im wondering whats the most efficient way to get Hasten and domination to fire as soon as its ready. Is it the case to religiously watch hasten or is their a macro I can use?

    I rememeber reading the US boards about a macro someone used so as soon as domination fires it puts hasten on auto and when hasten fires it puts domination back on auto but I cant seem to find it again

    Any ideas?

    Has to be Dark/Ice with ice epic im afraid im afraid. Also cloak of fear is pretty central to it all as well.

    I dont think its going to be too bad with Ice and the attach chain and aoe attacks looks decent. hey if I can take down EBs with a Dom solo then any tanker should do the job.
  21. just checked the end for GIS and its 10.2 and KO blow is 18.5 whic standard across the big hitters like seismic smash, total focus etc.. so its not quite half but close enough.

    so what do you think guys is ice melee workable?

Been looking at Mids and looking at the possible attack chain of Ice Fists/Ice Sword/Ice Touch/Greater Ice sword it doesnt seem that bad.Greater Ice Sword cannot compare with something like KO blow but its got half recharge time (10 sec vs 25 secs) so potentially you can get 2 hits of GIS to 1 KO blow.

    Im thinking of rolling a Dark/Ice/Ice tanker when I12 hits mainly for concept reasons. My question is really around Ice Melee. Due to the odd hours I play I tend to solo a lot and from reading the US and UK forums it looks like Ice Melee is not a solo friendly set but I just wanted to get the opinions of Ice Melee users on how bad it actually is? I am not so worried about taking on minions or Lts as I think most AT can handle them in most situations but more against nasty bosses and EBs. Are they just too tough for Ice Melee to take out just take a long time? Can Ice Melee take out all bosses and EBs without getting help?

    I just finished getting a Mind/Psi dom to lvl 50 and fought some tough EBs and had to ask for help a few times so would like not to go through that sort of struggle again.

    Today I picked up the unique Regenerative Tissue IO +regen (Lvl 18). I looked on the black market and it goes for a nice 9mil infamy but I was wondering will it be useful for my Mind/Psy Dom (goal of permadom) or should I just sell it?

    Any advice appreciated.
