Turkey Lurkey

I'm relatively new to this area of the forums, so forgive me this this has been brought up before and shot down like the potentially horrible idea it is.

That being said....

We all like free art, right? As an artist, I like doing pictures for people as surprises (like my defunct Turkey Scratches for example), but often I can't find reference shots for them due to my extremely weak search fu. And I can't just come out and ask for screenies, because that would spoil the surprise.

So I always thought that having a thread where people could just list reference shots for their characters would be a good resource for both artists and art collectors. Any art that would result from it can be their own threads.

The Artists have a ready supply of available models all in one place. If the artist has something in particular in mind or an open request thread (IE. imagesbyalex's Sketch a Day Thread or Xertul's "I need two villains"), they can still post them as threads, but if they just want a random character or search for someone in particular they could come here.

The Collectors have a place to show their characters off and maybe get free art. Obviously, if you post your screenies, you would also post any caveats to drawing of your characters. IE: Just serious pieces (to keep jokers like me away), No NSFW pieces, etc.

A quick search brought up this Wiki list of supervillain teams, I'm sure they'll have rosters listed.

Also, what I've found useful is doing a wiki search of the publisher, and they often have a list of characters.....

Try Paragon Wiki. I've found that very helpful for reference shots. That's where I got the references for the Frying Monkey in the pic I did for you. =)
