Srsly, I'm using IE8 64-bit with full Flash support on my Win7 box. I'll throw out a few Flash-intensive sites and see what comes up (I honestly use Chrome for most everything), but I doublechecked it last night quickly before going to bed. Interesting.

(((EDIT: This is NOT the case. I was using IE 32-bit for my testing last evening, not 64-bit.)))

Anyhow, following the advice in this forum has enabled me to use flash as I wanted keep Firefox as my default browser and leave IE to do it's own thing and not having any probs with CoH either.
Yeah, that's how most people roll these days. IE for stuff Microsoft/vendors insist on, but for preferred browsing, your flavor of choice. Glad it got resolved.

(Going to look into this 64 bit browser/Flash question now...)

Me and a couple of friends tried the LGTF a couple of nights ago for kicks and we got through it. Using WB Nukes- we killed the yellows, blues, then hit the nucleus with the nuke....took him down quick then the greens. Was still rough even with nukes, shivans and vanguard heavy.

Doesnt really contribute to the post, but just an fyi....

You're an inspiration to us all. For my money, I'll just wait for the bugfix (I'm lazy in my old age), but hey, you can now say you dropped the "unbeatable" Hami!

Okay, stop right there. Flash works fine with IE8 in 64 bit. I'm running that setup on this box (Google Chrome Beta is my default browser, IE8's still around) and I don't have any issue with Flash sites.

(((EDIT: This is NOT the case. I was using IE 32-bit for my testing last evening, not 64-bit.)))

The COH/IE linking off the updater is baked in and AFAIK unchangeable. However, the COH site works with FF, IE, Chrome, and various mobile media browsers (iPhone, Palm Pre, etc).

So just getting to the root of your issue, ARE you updating Flash from www.adobe.com's website in IE8 under Win7, 64 bit?

That's exactly why, yeah. I'd wait it out. Set a bid at something reasonable "for you" and forget about it for a while. The Market was basically wiped out with I17 (intentionally), so histories are no longer an immediate source of reliable trend info. It's guaranteed that people will be trying to scrape every drop of INF from the market until things settle down.
  5. Okay, making it official. Jonna Hex (Demon/Thermal MM). Thanks.

Not right now actually. There's a critical bug with the green Hamis that's basically making any Hami encounter (incl the LGTF) unwinnable.
  7. Hm. I'm grinding up a Demonist into this range. Put me down as TBA for now, not sure who'll I'll be able to bring if I'm not fast enough.

As mentioned by another player, this is why Virtue has taken the reported lead in being the most populated server.
Wow. It takes balls of steel to come to another server and recruit away from them because of a neurotic belief in your social superiority. Took you six years to finally say "we're winning". Stay classy, Virtue. Stay classy.

OP: I'd say it's worth coming back, but for real "wow-zowie" factor, I'd hold off on coming back 'til summertime, when Going Rogue really hits the live servers. Teaming here isn't an issue, although it's been a bit quieter since the holidays. An off-server bud mentioned that it's nice to hear themselves think on Freedom's AP broadcast finally. Less noise, more signal. Most of the bigger names popped up again when Issue 17 kicked in, and I know we saw a lot of them move to other games recently (I'm still side-saddling STO and COH). Seeing my global list light up like a Xmas tree again is a terrific thing.

If you really wanna get your feet wet with fresh content, though, I'd sub a month and see how it does for you. I'd rather see you sub for the GR period, as that's where all the new bling will be coming, so fresh content would be a big lure during that period (remember, GR is a purchased add-on). If you're looking for your old friends? I dunno, can't help that. I will tell you that we have most of the same playerbase here, whipping up teams, TFs, raids and PvP like we always have. Maybe now's the time to make new friends!

This, based on the OP's requirement of a lower pop density. My mentor offer on Freedom nonwithstanding, I'd vote Champion server.

Simple question, I need a nice quiet server with a smaller population so I can help show her the ropes. Anybody got any suggestions?
    Heya Smash:

Send her my way. I'm signed up for the new Mentoring project that Stalemate's pushing, so I can make her my first mentee if you like. Freedom-based, but with the circles I run with, there's zero worry about any parental concerns. You know how the Horde runs. Other than all the jokes at my expense for faceplanting on the last mish of the Master runs, the teaming's productive, educational and slightly unserious.

If you're still looking for a non-Freedom server, I'd recommend Champion. Nice, laid back community there, smaller population, it's a lovely summer home for me when I feel itchy for a server transfer and want to visit people.

I'm thinking we'll see an influx this summer as they kick the game up a notch. It's good that Stalemate & Co. are getting a leg up on this now, establishing roles and patterns, before GR makes it debut. It pays to be ready.

    *gets on the bullhorn*

MARKETING: DO NOT SCREW GR UP. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE. GET A GOOD CAMPAIGN GOING, OR SO HELP ME, WE WILL DRIVE TO YOUR OFFICES AND END YOU IN FULL VIEW OF POSI AND WAR WITCH.

Just noticed this. Admirable effort. Just submitted my info via the GoogDoc template, let me know the why's and wherefore's if you opt to use me.

Cheers, all. You're doing good work for new capes.

Yah, we went under the saucer at the time to see if there were more grates to be had. We had so many teams on the saucer top that some teams went down below to avoid FX lag and see if there was anything else to gnaw off the bones of that dead horse.

Didn't find anything then, but that WAS what, almost 3 years ago now?

I seem to recall, shortly after Issue 10 rolled out, that Freedom would run out of grates after 1+ hours of raiding on that saucer. I don't recall anything happening in particular, but it's been done before; whether or not the "special something" was in place during that time to be triggered, I have no idea. I wouldn't mind giving it another try.
  21. Please flag me as an alt for this. Gun Father (DP/Fire Blaster), I should be online around that time, but if I'm not, don't wait to start on my account.
  22. Sign me up with Gun Father (DP/Fire Blaster) as an alt, please. I can prolly make it, but will likely be sleepy as hell. XD
  23. Okay, E missing the jump to the contact's platform not once, not twice, but FOUR times.... what a way to end the evening. XD

Great run, everyone! Superb storylines!! (Hating Fearghas right now, he stole an idea of mine...)
  24. I'm comin', I'm comin'... parking Soviet in base, but doing a few chores before gaming/bed.
