Quote:I see it all the time on Freedom. Usually it gets abbreviated to "gz". I'll usually say "keep the racket down, I'm napping".I've just joined Freedom and Virtue and I'm having a grand old time, thanks for accepting us in... but one weird thing. I'm so used to typing gratz when someone levels and either me or just one other person does it, is it not deregeur anymore? Am i a dinosaur?
I fully expected Americans to be full on "Gratz dude, yee haw, y'all is the rockin'" type stuff, i'm not disappointed, just a little surprised.
Anyway this is not a critisism, just an observation.
Still very happy to be here (er, there)
I dunno about the "yee haw y'all" thing tho. Do we have a Gran' Ol' Opry Server? -

Quote:In retrospect, I wonder if I DID get it earlier, but didn't notice. As stated earlier by others, I didn't get an alert specifying I had the badge, and only checked cuz that one guy said he got it. It's possible I got it days before, but when is impossible to know w/o waiting on the 90 month badge. All I can say for sure is I didn't notice it 'til a few days ago.Well for what it's worth I like the upcoming changes to the Paragon/Vet Rewards system, even if it means I'll no longer be able to poke fun at the Devs indirectly by commenting on Turg getting his Vet awards earlier than he was supposed to. In a weird sort of way I'm going to miss that...

Quote:The original version made it seem like the targeting was off of AM's position, yeah. Your edit clears that up. Cheers. However, apologies if this has lead people to believe the Obliteration Beam fires on Anti Matter. That is incorrect.
If there is anything else I can clarify please let me know.GL on your next run!
-
Quote:A note on this. The Obliteration Beam actually targets a specific player for its point of placement. For example: Anti-Matter is standing atop a big building, and a dozen players are below. He will "fire" the Oblit Beam at a player. Where that player was at the time of firing will be where the Oblit Beam will appear. It doesn't follow the player if they're moving.Increasing Beam Visibility
- Kept Anti Matter on the ground at all times to keep beam area on the ground.
- No flying.
However, it DOES place the beam targeting in the air if that player is flying, or Ninja/Beast/Hurdle/SJ'ing their way through the air. It's common that a player doesn't even notice they were targeted as they Jump through the target point that was just laid down, but the players beneath him/her wouldn't realize it.
I'd amend your statements above to:
Quote:- Keep all players on the ground as much as possible to keep beam footprint on the ground. This means: No flying, and all hopping should be kept to a minimum. -
Customs wants it this weekend, and I'm in NYC the whole weekend, so that's a bust. Customs, let us know on the Freedom board when you wanna do this and we'll form up around you.
-
Quote:Well, that changes everything. Nevermind then.Lol I was not talking the character IRON MAN I was referring to like the IRON MAN race.
It's a good idea, yeah. Maybe you might wanna mix up the teams at the last minute, so no one "team" is running with a twinked set of builds. This isn't about "who's got the most INF to spend on purps", but more "who can adapt with a random team to get the fastest time". -
Quote:Time waits on no one.Turg, I missed out. I was relocating two states away and you ran this without me.
I'm a sad panda.
Let me know when you're going to run it again as I have yet to get any of the badges towards the Mo run.
I'm up for it again. I'll send out feelers to the team and see who's willing to run again. -
Heya LSK.
One big issue is, "what do you mean by 'Iron Man'?" There are some significant legal headaches for COH when it comes to portraying copyrighted superhero/villain characters (effectively from any publisher with a legal department). "Homage" characters run the risk of having their costumes (and names, if it's part of the homage build) reset to generic status if found and reported. For instance, making a claws/regen scrapper in a yellow and black costumed named 'Wulverine' will get reset if reported.
Having PERC sponsor a contest specifically to emulate one of those characters would be a problem. However, you CAN get around it by genericizing your requirements for the run. Instead of "Iron Man", you can state "fully armored, mean-as-nails robot", or something along those lines. If there's an individual who breaches copyright by copying Iron Man, then that's on them: Your (and PERC's) hands are clean.
Other ideas for "theme night" are teenage superheroes/villains (making them look like kids); Zombie Night (just don't call it "Blackest Night", you get the idea), where everyone takes their established toons and makes up a "zombie" version of them; StormForce, where everyone running should take a Storm-centric power; etc.
Basically, don't tread on the copyright issues via PERC, and you should be good. -
I have guests this weekend, but I don't know when they'll pass out. I'd like to participate though if I can.
Assume "maybe" 'til you actually see me login, don't wait on me obviously. Thanks, E!

Quote:People didn't have sprint?Just got done watching the Paragon Studios Panel from this years SDCC and with issue 21 everyone will have access to travel powers at level 4!
Lazy newbie heroes. Back in my day, we had to Sprint up a snow-packed hill - both directions - to fight the Winter Lord. AND WE WERE HAPPY.
(...and we also got mad XP from the first Winter Lord too. Imagine getting a level for every time you participated in a WL takedown, all the way into the 20s.)
(Now GETOFF MAH LAWN) -
Now it's "Rollin' on a River"...
Are you my dad, Raging? -
I just tuned in to some Rod Stewart.
ima go cry now. -
Here we go again... "Maybe". =/ I need a day job that fits in with my Horde runs better...

Quote:Hey, I'm delighted to be proved wrong. And my condolences on whatever put you "back on schedule," Turg.
VC, was it a full badge with text that you got? Can you share the details?
Servers are still down, otherwise I'd have checked it by now.
EDIT: Servers back up, here's the data.

*tips his hat* Good luck on this, Championites. It's a brutal badge series to get, but when you do, it's exhilarating.

I dunno. I think "seven years" was a good number for them to terminate and reinvent the veteran reward system to use the new Paragon Store thingy. I'll holler out if I find out otherwise, though.

Teri Gift is @General Health. I think Dynexus is @Dynexus, but I'll verify that later today.
