Yeah.. i was worried that might be a bit out of date. I dont think there is an updated version of this planner yet, is there? (joe chott)
Would i be right in assuming that the lvl 4 and lvl 10 powers are round the other way now?

Hi, Looking for some advice really. I'm thinking about respeccing to something like the build below. What i'd like is a build that is mostly for PvE, but wouldn't be too shabby in PvP. How does this build look, please?

    Rage

Ahhh... I see, so it doesnt get rid of the downtime, it just makes it available again straight away.

    Thanks for that!

    Rage

I think i've seen it elsewhere on here, but just for clarity - if you have 2 recharge reduction SOs (or hasten) in rage, you can activate it again before the crash comes? postponing it, so to speak, so you just get one crash at the end?
  6. Hiya, I've just recently started on my Claws/regen scrapper, so thanks for posting this build, it gives me a better idea towards slotting, etc.
I'm planning on going for a more PVP orientated build. Would anyone reccommend any changes to the above build for PVP?
    Cheers!

Edit: okay, had time to read through the previous posts, so apologies for not looking earlier! I think this and the extensive Hammertime guide has answered most of my questions!
  7. Ok, thought i'd try and play devils advocate here

I think its fair to say that not everyone who builds a tank is going to know how best to taunt, manage aggro, etc. Like anything else its a learning process, you don't just 'know' how to Tank because you're building one.
My question really i guess, is how often do you talk to Tankers that you meet and tell them what tips you've picked up, and offer advice? I'm sure there are plenty of Tanks (and other ATs) that don't even know they are doing anything wrong, unless someone gives some advice.

    Just my thoughts, anyway
  8. Hmmm... well, everytime we've met in BB, Tylantia, i always seem to walk away with the taste of dirt in my mouth!

Still, it's been a while - maybe i got a little tougher since then!

Anyways, hope to catch you in there again soon!
  9. I haven't got this power yet, but I'm toying about getting it for the occasional PVP game. I was wondering if it was a good pwer to stop Stalkers from running off after they fire off their AS. Anyone tryed this out?? is it good for this purpose?
  10. Hello marque,
Well, you've met Ardman in BB, so i'm probably not the best for giving advice (you git! ).
From my experience of faceplanting, I would have to say focus on your primarys first, and your attacks second. We're on at the same time usually, so send me a tell if you want to know more.
oh yeah, don't be put off by the performance in the early levels, it really does get better as you level higher!

So the only tip is: go levelling fast!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, yep, I think thats one of the best solutions!

the other annoying thing ( not a whinge... more an observation!) is standing in the water in Bloody Bay, seeing the ripples as the stalker approaches, practically seeing him standing in front of you, but not being able to target him! Think it's probably a weakness in my Tankers build, no AoE attacks. Dont get me wrong though... for all my little quibbles, i still love playing PvP!

p.s. - Got CoV for Xmas, so will see how the other shoe fits!
  12. I have the same trouble with my Tank in Bloody Bay too. I think Aggravator may be right about the Stalkers levels as well. The ones i have encountered have been a lot tougher than i was expecting.

If i understand it right, lower levels are brought up to a temporary level 25, and higher levels are brought down to 25. However, i'm guessing that they still have the advantage of the additional powers/ slots they have gained from reaching their higher levels...!

Also,I dont mind getting killed, but on some occasions the cockyness from some players that follows after they've killed me annoys me, esp droning on and on and on about the defeat, and prolly how awesome they think they are, but hey those guys will be top of the list in hunting

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, i gotta say, that really winds me up too. As i said in another post, i only started PvP this week, and so far i've had a lot of fun - i have died loads, and have yet to win a fight, but i've enjoyed the battle. this last day or so i've enjoyed less, in part because of a villain harping on about how great they were to take you down..even though it was THREE AGAINST ONE!
Still, i expect i'll be back there again today......!

I've not been to the arena yet, but it does sound interesting. You are right as well - i think a good Hero/villain will learn from their pvp encounters, as it can only make you a stronger player.
As for 1 on 1 in a PvP zone, Unless you actually let people know thats what you are doing, i guess you are still fair game for anyone (though i hate to admit it - the amount of times i get suckered by one or two extra villains joining in!! lol) That goes with the territory, so to speak.

I'm new to the PvP game. I was AFKing it on a rooftop in bloody bay, came back to my keyboard to find someone beating on me. I thought 'sneaky ...!' at first, but hey - they are villains, they aint supposed to be nice!
Have to say though... absolutely lovin it!
by the way - anyone have any good ideas on how to get the upper hand on the stalkers, all tips welcome!!
GhostBlade - We'll get that 1 on 1 next time.
  16. Hi All. I thought i'd jump on the bandwagon too! I've been playing CoH for a few weeks, but only dicovered this forum a couple of days ago.
Anyway thought i'd say hello, and hope to see you in there!
