You know why that is? Because I reminded them a few weeks ago that they solicited signed copies, and they said they'd send 'em to me to sign, and I've never heard from them! I'll check with the powers-that-be on Monday. I'm sorry about that, but I can't put my John Hancock (heh, Hancock) on funnybooks that I haven't received.

Quote:Huzzah! #3 is in my hands and I read it twice..... I have to say, I'm enjoying the parodies of the various writing styles you're doing there. I especially liked the Alan Moore-esque english thing, and the multiverse crisis thing....was that a sneaky Freedom Phalanx reference I spotted in there?
Beyond that, I'm getting a bit of a Black Swan vibe from the main story, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'm getting a definite impression that a lot of this story is really what she's seeing and may not even be actually real, which is not unexpected given what you've said about the origins of this story and all.
I'm not necessarily expecting this story to end on a positive note, but that's not a bad thing unto itself. What is a bit sad is that I do like TG and hope the best for her.
Maybe you'd consider 'reimagining' her in one of those alternate realities where she is a superhero? I'd really like that. She can join my SG anytime.
Cool! Actually the Vertigo-style thing was more a parody of the LESSER Brit writers; while I think he's a nutcase, I'm a fan of Moore's writing.
I'm guessing that it's not going to end the way that most people think, WHATEVER they happen to think.
Maybe we can do a book called "The Twilight Guardians of Infinite Earths"! -
For those of you who were Prison Break fans, I just thought I'd point out that Robert Knepper is going to be on Breakout Kings tonight, playing the notorious Theodore Bagwell! Always nice to see one of these unexpected character returns, and BK is a pretty good show anyway. Check it out!

Well, I doubt that will happen, partially because her two appearances from back then are basically what I cobbled together to make the Pilot Season issue, pretty much panel for panel. The closest we'll get is probably the text page (with cover illos) I did about it in the just-released TG #3...

When the Cow told me they were going to do a trade, that's the first thing I asked 'em, and they said yeah, the Pilot Season issue will be in there. I'm hoping to convince them to let me put in a bunch of additional features, too, but pages can be hard to come by...

Quote:I'm getting really tired of folks saying they want to buy it and can't. I think it's a combination of (A) shops only ordering a couple, if they order any at all, and (B) probably a low print run. Rodney Dangerfield would've done better with his comics...I went to my local store today to get #3 and they either sold out of the one or two copies that they ordered or didn't get any in and wouldn't own up to it. I did put my name in for them to try and get me one.
I also bought the Blackest Night hardcover, so that will show them! -
Quote:Very cool! Thanks! Yeah, I think a trade will happen at some point. When they commissioned the cover for #4, I think they said it would be used as the trade cover, too. And given how underprinted the individual issues seem to be... (Diamond was previously out of #1, but Top Cow supposedly sent them a small number of copies from their own very limited stash)For anyone interested in issues 1 or 2 that might have missed them, Diamond shows issue 1 still available for order and in stock, and issue 2 on back-order.
Troy, I'll be ordering a couple extra copies to give to friends, and a few of the trade that will hopefully exist. Great, fun stuff. -
Twilight Guardian #3 comes out in about 24 hours, but for those of you who'd like a glimpse, check it out here.

Quote:Thanks! I had cake, and sushi...While I was away over the weekend I see we had a couple birthdays. Sorry they got missed (I blame Kheldarn
).
Happy Belated Birthday wishes to both Ironik and Lousy Day, hope they were good ones.
Also while it doesn't show up anywhere Baron Overlord's (Ennvee's squeeze) was recently past too.
P.S. While I'm at it Happy Birthday to Troy Hickman (his is today).

Quote:Wasn't it Neal in a Comics Journal interview who said that the reason more people don't commit murder is because people won't trust them if they do?I'd say Neal is *beyond* "out there". He's on the outside of the universe looking in. The guy seems nice enough, with his charity work and all, but he is certifiably insane. Go look at his website, particularly the part where he claims (with a straight face) that planets expand like balloons. Nevermind that there are decades' worth of evidence for plate tectonics, Neal says the continents match together because the Earth blew up like a child's balloon. Even Scientology makes more sense, and Scientology is the idiot stepchild of religion and science fiction that truly makes no sense.

Quote:As I recall, there were only something like 9 issues...over the course of ten years!Ms. Mystic...
Oh lordy. Liked the concept and the supporting characters. But the delivery... Yesh. I think I stopped after 3 or 4 issues of that.
Maybe it's a good thing I'm not into comics that much any more.
Thank you for the time...
My favorite bit was the factory thay only manufactured...POLLUTION! Hey, Neal, I didn't even buy that from Ted Turner... -
Excuse me for not being up on stuff, but did Neal write this, too? Because he's one of those guys...one of the greatest artists to ever work in comics...a legend, really...but his scripting...uh...did you ever read Ms. Mystic or Skateman?
It's kind of like Jack Kirby, except that Jack's strangeness really was only in the scripting; he was a fantastic, if somewhat kooky, idea man.
Neal is just out there. -
If you want to get me a birthday present, I can't think of anything I'd like more than for you to pick up Twilight Guardian #3 on Wednesday (and #1 and #2, if you don't have 'em).
Also, I need some socks... -

No, but I know folks who have used my comics for kindling...

Quote:Thanks!I just finished #2 (not that #2 Troy!)
Very good read and I loved the puns. Not too sure i get the Eve Ward reference.
I can't wait to see her reaction the being "comicfied".
The phony name she gave the hotel clerk was just a reference to her hero ID; Eve Ward = Twilight Guardian. -
Oh, yeah, I've seen Man of La Munchies on the Food Network. That's the show where the guy is always tilting at windmill cookies, right?

Quote:Hey, I'm just a comic book writer. Now, the person TALKING to the fictional character...that's who I have my doubts about...I have to wonder if Hickman has a little bit of a multiple personality disorder...if you check out the facebook page...one has to wonder....
So the question becomes, when did he first start hearing "the voices"....
I have a feeling it might have been due to us on these forums, and you know, COH/COV/GR!... -
Between my association with the RLSH community, my current Twilight Guardian series, and things I've said on these boards, my feelings are pretty well known.
I will say this, though: if Batman had never become a nth level black belt, or used super-sophisticated gadgetry, or fought the Joker, but rather had walked the streets at night dispensing food and toiletries, walked women to their cars safely, and visited children's hospitals, I personally would STILL think of him as a superhero. -
I was going to answer, then I realized I would be here until late Saturday night...

I knew I should've had a character named Earl Grey!
