Art is like a rubix cube! The more you mess with it the harder it gets!

Aaah she's really good Scarf! good find! And nice little chibis!
-
Ooh on a side note, that color on the blades kind of makes them look like wooden swords >_> what a great idea!

Well, in a way it is CoH related. CoH is about playing heroes, Heroes is sort of a different take on the super hero idea, kind of a 'what if' in the real world. If you could suddenly shoot hurricanes out of your butt one day, would you really go out and grab a costume to celebrate it and try to fight crime with your glutious gusts? I've definitely seen a few people playing their characters with the take Heroes has taken in CoH. More so Heroes has a very comic booky theme behind it, all the narator intros are done in comic style fonts ( based of the creators hand writting I hear), and there's even a comic book artist in the series who draws the future and all (There's some truely awesome art done by the guy in the series! There's something cool in my brain about painting a full comic panel on a canvas)
But with how open ended this is, you can go alot of ways with it without knowing that much about the series, but with using something you DO know. Like oh.. say... uhm... there's a link there to the powers and names of a bunch of characters, you could easily find pictures of them all and draw them in CoH signature character costumes. Or like he said earlier, drawing them with hero style tights and costumes - just google what their face would look like, take a quick peek at their power for an idea and run with it. -
Sorry Gata, I tried slowing it down to six frames a second so people could actually read it >.>

Snrk, sounds good to me. I've had alot weirder commissions and all than just 'draw something having to do with the Heroes show'. There's alot of fun you could have with that. A host of parodies come to mind!
-
I have posted what I had so far of this fun idea for a flash animation, seeing as it may take be a long time to do everything I wanted with it. So please enjoy!

Submit this for the City Scoop's Valentine's edition. It should be the splash page.

I think this qualifies as Fanart, tell me what you think;

Also before clicking I must warn you that clicking may cause blindness and various other symptoms. Its also probably not safe for work, I think, unless you want your boss to look at you REALLY funny.
Also also, this is one of Scarfgirls ideas <3 So please pm any complaints to her, please. -

Smoking is the number one cause of death for heroes... the number two cause of death is a meatball sandwich with sauerkraut.

Looking like a good start on learning the thing, Shia. Flash is a great tool and you can turn out some amazing stuff once you get into it a ways, especially once you start getting into things like using movie clips as objets and moving 'em around.
Lately, I haven't really done much "flash style" animation with flash myself-- I've been more using it like a traditional animator's table and doing frame-by-frame. But flash is what I did my avatar in, and I find it *really* nice for quick pencil tests and the like when I'm planning out a sequence for 3D work or something. Flash pretty much owns.

Thats a cool idea, using it like imageready works and not messing with fifty different little animation tracks in that timeline.. hmm.. Maybe I'll give that a try for practice. -
Because you are all my deep deep top secret friends, I thought I'd show you a flash animation I did this morning for practice (I only started learning about it last night)
It contains Dragonberry and the Shia;

Yep this is a very cool vacation forum for me , im rather highly protective of it . (Soultrain says im hot headed :P )
And your one of the handful of first time art forum posters that actually seems to get how to go about posting for artyou make me sooooo proud to have you on my global friends list .
and im rather envious of the two really sharp pieces you have gotten so far .
just don't tell the rest of the Virtue forums about this place , id hate to suddenly see 50 well written requests , with intresting costumes and backgrounds posted in here :P
Congrats again on 50

I never would have though of using the samurai armor to make a made lol

It was a brilliant idea, but it sure wasn't mine. I shamelessly yoinked it from someone I saw with a great Maid outfit in the D'. I did try changing it a bit so it wasn't a straight steal - but the skirt and the leggings were pretty much the same. -
I got no idea where you would look localy for it, I just took alot of community college courses
Any of the above suggestions are good too.

So I've been playing with this 'cut out' style alot, and the e-surance thing ontop of it. Here's some of my playing;
StarEmber from Virtue;

Maid to kill from virtue, my alt;

A commission for Rowr in the e-surance style

And an all Phothshop picture of Maid to Kill;

I also did another one of a drunk smoking topless elf with an eyepatch, but I'm not sure I should link it here - however its in the same gallery. -
(I don't mean any of this to sound presumptous are like I myself am an expert or anything like that)
I was talking to a friend on AIM earlier today, and he was saying he didn't know how to draw so went out and got a couple of 'how to draw manga' books to teach him. I think this is a mistake alot of people make who just get into drawing and try to jump right into the cartoony simple looking stuff (which really isn't as simple as you'd think once you do it, typically), and the advice I give him as I give anyone who wants to learn how to draw is;
Take life drawing classes.
Cartoons and all that are awesome, but they're a response to real life. You take a life drawing class and you got an instructor who usually knows what he's doing guiding you along the way and teaching you how to see the right kind of shadows and lighting and all that great stuff you never really could pick up watching Ranma 1/2.
And I think most artists out there will tell you the same thing. Animaters themselves (I hear) take a life drawing class once a year as a refresher to keep sharp. I took a bunch a while back and have been to take a bunch more, and it really helps your drawing out a ton. For reals!
