LOL thanks Red, heck I started the game on this server. I'm thinking of a come back tour per say.

Quote:I like the idea of a Player Auction, I should remember this when trying to think of an event. Nice Dazz!Has your server ever done a player auction before???
We did one on Champion and it was a HUGE success. In fact it funded our events for the entire year! It was really cool and had a great response!
Normally... what we do for the auction is get people to volunteer 4 hours of their time to play with the person who has the winning bid on them. We also can get Mod08 and Avatea to volunteer two hours of their time and they usually go for A LOT of money. I also know KJSR DJ's usually volunteer a show to let the winner choose the theme and a four song block. It's really cool! This might be a great way to raise money for PERC so Toxic, Myself, and future reps (hopefully???) do not eat out their own pockets. Lemme know what you think? -
Quote:Thanks again for your advice it will not go unheeded.Toxic--
For event money, run tip missions for hero/villain merits. Have them set on an easy level (they're not hard to ghost). So you can get a merit every 2 days, spending maybe 30 min each day doing the missions. When you get a merit, cash it in for the 5 random rolls and then sell what you get. People are typically making 50-100mill on sales doing this.
Alternatively, earn merits for something that is selling well, like maybe a LotG +global rchg or a numina +end+reg (both cost 2 merits, so 4 days to get one). And then craft and sell it on the market. -
Thankyou Stalemate & FrozenDeath, I greatly appreciate the empathy. I'll say that you are correct, though myself unlike the other PERC reps spend very little time farming for funds for my events, or playing solely for the funding of PERC events. Seeing what little time I get on the game I typically just play to enjoy myself, the company of other players and just have fun. So typically I have to call to my other PERC reps for the prizes. Something I am begining to dread, but I don't really wish to sacrifice "everything" to just sit in game playing the market and farming either, talk about a rock and a hard place. My thanks go out to those that already do this.
I used to never look at the forums myself and only recently began to read them on a regular basis. But sometimes it is hard to endorse in game if do not play every day that peak time of day when everyone is on. -
I'll start by saying currently I am the Triumph PERC Representative only since . I have also recently volunteered with Dazz to represent Protector.
I have a 2 kids, a fulltime job and college, so if you don't always happen to see me in game I do have my Skype listed here as well. Contact me in game @Toxic Striker, or if you have skype, my account is reaping-souls (came from a previous game name). If I don't get to you right off the bat try Dazz, though I don't see his contact information posted as of yet.
I've only been a member of PERC since the end of December 2009, I've only hosted I think 2 events so far, and helped on 2 or so PERC hosted events so far. I Don't always have a ton of time for the game, but I do my best and hope to bring more events to Protector. -
Well I'm sorry I missed this but I have been the new Triumph PERC Representative for close to 10 months now I don't know I actually for get when I joined them exactly. But between having a 2 kids, a fulltime job and college, I can see how easily I could forget my PERC join date. You may contact me in game @Toxic Striker, or if you have skype my account is reaping-souls (came from a previous game name). I am sorry for the late reply to this sticky thread.
Edit: I actually looked back to see when I joined PERC it was the end of December last year. So I appologize for the late reply. I also was not the only Triumph rep we did have three of us most of this year, not sure what happened to the other 2, but I think I am the only rep for PERC on Triumph at this time. -
PERC is Hosting the Forum Term Me A Story Contest started yesturday and ends Sunday November 21st at 11:59 PST
-
Quote:Actually I did not even know MP was hosting that till she just told me about 8 hours ago. So I look the fool, so too Twilight and Sooner there is a story contest already on here, I did not know that until now.So this is different from the Term story? o.o so much writing!
Please count me in though I'm spreading myself way too thin already lol.
I could probably slap a list together of the things I'd do or not do for PERC, however I think TP said it already in that regular bumping of contest and information threads is vital to ANY event anywhere. In the case that an event changes in any way, I'd love to KNOW it.Also, the forums have a public calendar. I went looking for the information in it, just before discovering that my note on what time it started was for the wrong time zone, and obviously didn't see it anywhere. It's the 2nd highest thing in the whole forums, y'know?
I'm not going to hold my breath on an apology, and it wasn't your doing or your fault TS, but thank you anyway. My life is pretty much a wreck just now, and I was really hoping that I'd be able to at least show off my skills at this year's event. I've placed reasonably high before, though I don't recall ever having a contest that early in the day before either.
As for the timeframe I don't remember in the past what times on what servers because I was on the contestant side of things prior to this year. I was not even in PERC last year for this event. -
Quote:That makes 2 interested in the story contest wow this is working faster than expected.Normally I prefer to keep my writings to original universes, but I think I could give in and write some fan fiction for a shot at 100 mil inf.
My only suggestion would be to regularly bump event topics. I completely missed the recent costume contest (didn't even know it existed) simply because the topic wasn't bumped until after it was over.
I was not aware of that, had I looked at the PERC rep list I likely would have started covering both Protector and Triumph. Then that thread would have been bumped a lot more. Suggestion taken and noted TwilightPhoenix. -
Quote:I can not promise anything, I appologize for it, though it was not in my control.Well, I appreciate you stepping in to give us a hand. Thank you.
Yes, we would love to see the story contest here. I was very surprised and disappointed to find out that Protector - a server with a HUGE fan fic tradition - was left out of the story contest.
The main thing I would really like to see right now, however, would be for Ice Knight to apologize to Zek for his rude and insensitive comments.
I am hoping and planning to host the story contest on here to me having one person interested is good enough to make plans for hosting it very soon. I think I'll see if we can start it this Friday, how does that sound Sooner? -
That is always an idea, that will be great and a lot of hard work on my part to come by. Thanks Blitzkrieg88.

Hello Protector People!
I am a representative of PERC, and since I'd like to give the people what they want. I am making this post the unofficial "suggestion box" for comments, thanks, complains, and event suggestions. I have had some people that really enjoyed the recent story contest on Triumph, and yes we know there were people that liked the Mr. & Ms. Costume Contest and those that did not like it. I just recently along with Dazz volunteered to help represent PERC on Protector.
I am not huge on good ideas when it comes to trying to host events my mind basically blanks out. I loved the forum story event, and I love costume contests. But what else would you all like to see from PERC?
Also would you all like to have the story contest here? I'll post up the poster from Triumph here so you all can look it over and give feedback. I've edited out the end date and server name so you can get the general idea of this contest if enough people like it I'll host it here.

How to send in an entry?
Just post it on here. As well as a screenshot if you desire! Those wishing to submit a private entry may PM it to me.

Hello Triumph People!

I have had some people that really enjoyed the recent story contest, and yes we know there were people that liked the Mr. & Ms. Costume Contest and those that did not like it. I am not huge on good ideas when it comes to trying to host events my mind basically blanks out. I loved the forum story event, and I love costume contests. But what else would you all like to see from PERC? -
Alright, well I'll leave it at that then 3Mile.
-
Again 3Mile I am sorry for what it is worth. Granted I don't speak for all of PERC, but I meant it. Trust me I noticed that we still have changes that need making, more than one. This was my first time not being a contestant in this event and my first year of being in PERC, things are different when your on a different side of this. I can say I have been, on the dissappointed contestant side and on the judges side, along with just there to help and represent PERC. Long story short, help us to help make you and other players happier with this event offer suggestions, complaints help as well. Heck if you really want to fix things join PERC, take my place as Triumph Rep.
-
BTW please send me a PM on here or a ingame email once you have the prize money.
Just missing Astris's global handle.
Scratch that he gave me it in game.
@Astris -
Quote:Again on my behalf and for PERC I'm sorry we neglected to say something to you both. I'm glad to leave it at that as well ShadowKitty. We were actually quite stationary in front of the Male judging but fair enough, I can accept the fact that we were un-noticed and put it to rest.
Quote:Striker, I appreciate your comments.
I was pretty annoyed when Ice Knight responded to Zek's concerns with "If you actually cared, you'd have paid attention."
I appreciate you at least acknowledging the concerns instead of dismissing them.
Quote:It sounds like it might have been a better tactic to simply send out a single broadcast or request announcement in the zone, rather than trying to catch everyone with tells, then. That way, it hits everyone, whether the reps see them or not, or at least everyone who hasn't taken the channels off their chat windows. -
If I remember MP's offer yes it should be double prize money.
-
Quote:Then you are not the one I happened to see and sent a tell to. We are like everyone else in this game only human bound to make a mistake or not notice everyone randomly running around the D. I'm sorry that I did not notice you or your friend or send you both tells about the line up.Neither I, or my friend received any such tells from any of the 5 of you that were there at any given time.
As for the list of PERC reps for the servers there is a list as Dazz said but noticing it is missing as he said. Though perhaps we might publish the full list for the players that are on multiple servers. But that is not my call. -
Quote:I actually sent tells to the ones I saw not lined up and they did not join the line up even after I mentioned it to them. Yes we need help on Protector we have no reps here, sure that could be a sign. But not having a rep for your server makes it harder for those of us that do not know all the good chat channels to announce on here. So then it leaves us locating what we hope is a used channel along with the request channel, and events channels, and then broadcase once people are in the D. Sorry I'm kinda replying to multiple posts from this forum. I do agree that the judging should be changed a little because it essentially comes down to 4 people looking at both male and female contestants and picking their favorites and then having to take the ones with the most votes for them and saying the win. Like anything everyone is different and has different likes, style and taste. Unfortunately even if someone got 1 judges vote as a winner it does not allow them to win if the other three didn't like you the most or just didn't like the colors, or whatever reason. All we can do is take what suggestions are mentioned from this year along with the complaints and get those from PERC that will show up to a meeting put to vote what changes we make as we did this year. I'm sorry for those of you that missed it, or were wronged. But if you really want to do something about it talk to a PERC member or join up.I was in the CC, and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed too. I felt like the judges hardly looked at anyone's costumes and like they knew who they were going to choose before we even showed up, let alone before the semi-finals.
Yeah, there were only eight female characters on the platform, but there were two others floating around the D, and no one tried to chivvy them onto the platform or let them know what was going on at all. The judges saw there were eight women and went "okay, there are eight of you, you're all in the semifinals!" and never looked at our costumes before the powers segment.
All four judges looked at my costume for a grand total of about five seconds, after I worked on the concept, costume, and bio for the past month. The powers segment where we were supposed to get a minute each? Some of us got thirty seconds, some got a minute and fifteen seconds. I have loved doing this event in the past and I have enjoyed it, and I have always cheered for the winners. However, this year, I felt that no one was really given a fair chance to shine, and the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.
At the end of the event, the winners were announced in the Arena chat only and not in Pocket D or anywhere else, and no runners-up were announced. It was really confusing and disappointing to me to basically hear "Okay, these are the two winners, bye everyone!"
I've been running events since I joined the game, and I'm sad to say you guys really dropped the ball on this one. It's not hard to run a costume contest where people feel like their work is appreciated and enjoyed. I doubt I'll be returning next year or at all if this is how things are going to be run.
And by the way-it's PERC's event and it's PERC's job to promote it, not ours.
Way to show the playerbase how much you guys care about us by being outright rude when we come to you with our concerns. -
First off I do think if the need be it would not be a big deal if we add the times for all Timezones from PST to EST if the need be. This is not a bad suggestion as for the rest.....I can relate I have been on both sides of this event, I've been judged, I've been a judge, I've been a helper, and been a losing semifinalist before. The most I can say is come again next year, host your own event, apply to join PERC, or just go and have fun in the game and just ignore us PERC people, or whatever. Blow off the steam and get back to "the game" and just enjoy the game. After all that is what this game is here for, that is all anyone that ever hosts an event, makes a SG, forms a Team, and gathers people for PVP, Raids, TF's, SF's and so on is trying to do.
I think that some of what I said can be applied to all that have been wronged, or think they have been wronged in this contest from whatever year it was does not matter, just take my ranting’s as it is, and try to enjoy yourself. This applies to contestant and PERC people alike, I am from both sides and see both sides of the "contest" so I can both relate and empathize with both matters.
This was a reply from someone on Triumph and they are correct.
Quote:While I typically do not defend PERC...
I 'believe' (I can only guess, because I am not part of PERC) that this years speedy version of the contest was in fact due to complaints last year about how long it took. I also believe that the 'no pre-registration' was due to issues last year where people complained about walk-ins.
While I am not a huge fan of the biggest rewards/prizes being given out for a subjective contest, I think PERC did make the attempt to fix some of the issues raised last year.
What I kind of find a little ridiculous, is the issue that people need to be reminded that a contest is going to happen. The threads were posted, and for the most part bumped prior to the event. I think people really need to take some responsibility for themselves if they want to participate in a contest. Do you expect the lottery to come to your door each Tuesday and Thursday to remind you to buy a ticket because the drawling is the next night?
As far as being on the community calender, I think that is a very valid point. I honestly though, don't even know where this calender is and I may not be typical but I just find out about things by reading the forums. -
We have out winners. All of the entries were great! Mp and Myself had to pull in two other judges just to help us get the final scores. Here are your winners.
1st Place - Obsidious
2nd Place - Astris
3rd Place - Magentabolt
Congratulations winners! Please send me your in game global chat handles, so that I can get them to MP so that she can send you your winnings. -
Quote:You are correct we actually met as a group those that showed and we discussed the problems and complaints from the previous year, and looked at your "the players" suggestions and put to vote on the changes. These are the changes that passed that were in this year’s contest forum posts. What can I say other than one person put it right in saying "People don’t really know what they want." We listened to the people, yes we voted (I know that whole American voting thing right) and it again worked out that obviously not all of the suggested changes were made. It's a process like anything else out there, this is a game and unfortunately we obviously try like heck to appease the public and still fail no matter how much we change and take from suggestions, we still find those who had problems. While I typically do not defend PERC...

3 Mile, I was not the judge that neither responded to you nor was I even a judge, just a Voice "Town Crier" if you will. I do apologize that you "were wronged" I think yes despite my better instincts to not voice my opinion think we could have allowed you to be judged. I'm sorry I should have spoken up, but also on the other foot we did announce in TW 2.0, TW 2.1 and APEX hotline how much time was left to get to pocket d to enter, I believe we even mentioned it on the request channel, and yes I know it was here as well but not nearly as many people read the forums until they get mad. Yes I can relate I have been on both sides of this event, I've been judged, I've been a judge, I've been a helper, and been a losing semifinalist before. I personally did not take a ScreenShot of the Triumph winners, all I have is from Protector.
