    10 Years of CoH

I started reading the per-beta forums boards about a year out form Beta starting. I never posted much would enjoyed checking out the daily ravings of people like Xanatos.

I was fortunate enough to get into the 2nd round of beta testing and remember the massive backlash when at first people were not allowed to keep their beta character's name for when the server went live and then the mess the devs caused when they tried to fix the issue.

My best memory was hitting the station to transfer zones and noticing a player named Ascendant talking on the pay phone to his mother. That was the hardest I ever laughed in a game, and of course after a few weeks he became famous across Virtue and the forum boards for his in game character (from comical phone calls to leading a rally in Atlas Park for Memorial Day). I was even part of his short lived supergroup when they were first added to the game.

I truly miss seeing fire controllers with an army of 9 fire imps running around them. But thank the heavens that they got rid of the full body graphic on Stone tank. You started off with your first power making you look like a walking pile of dog poop.

I enjoyed playing with many stand out characters like, Xanatos, Balen, Killer Whale, Ascendant, Solo, all the Taxibots and dozen of other old-timers.

    My own first year characters;
    Sal'vation
    Toxic Roach
    Aggro King

    Pet Box

Finally got my Dark Servant pet, but no longer remember how to make the pet status box display so I can keep track of his health.

Anyone know how to make non-MM pet boxes display on the screen?

You are probably using a wireless signal to connect to the internet. The issue is that Vista is programmed to "update" its wireless connection once per minute (I don't know technically if that's exactly what it's doing - but basically it's something along the lines of once per minute it checks to see if it is connected to the best wireless it can connect to, and, if not, will try to connect to the best one) - and every time it does, you get hit by a lag spike, which rubber bands you.

The two fixes are: connect to the internet through a land line (cable, etc.) - that'll solve the problem. OR, if that's not practical, there's a program called Vista Anti Lag. Just do a google search for it - you should be able to download and install it for free. Once you turn it on, it'll shut of Vista's incessent 'search for a new wireless' every minute B.S., and you should be fine. But you'll need to remember to re-activate it every time your computer is rebooted, or every time you come back from idle.

Hopefully that's what it is, so hopefully this'll help you.
This is exactly the problem. Thanks a million. I will start searching a web for the application to fix it.
  4. Played CoX from the beginning on Windows XP, my computer finally died and was forced to play on a new system with Vista.

I am getting constant rubberbanding while playing the game. I tried it out on two other systems all Vista but different video cards on processors, but get the identical problem on all three Vista computers.

Is this a problem others are having and anyone know a fix?
  5. With the new Badges for Master TF/SFs coming out, I'm curious as to what your ideal 8 person team would look like for each of the new Badge TF/SFs.

    Master of Reichsman Strike Force
    - 8 person Villian Team

    Master of Reichsman Task Force
    - 8 person Hero Team

    Master of Imperious Task Force
    - 8 person Combined Team
  6. Looking at many of the Plant/Thorn builds here it is easy to see that Thorntrops is often left out of many builds. I love thorntrops on its own just due to the fact that when I throw it directly in front of me any mob that starts charging me turns around and heads the other way.

For those of you who do use thorntrops, have you ever tried slotting it with the 4 different Procs that can be used in it, and if so how helpfull were the procs?

Ragnork - 20% chance of knockdown
    Position's Blast - 20% Chance of Damage
Pacing of the Turtle - 20% Chance of -Recharge
Impeded Swiftness - 20% Chance of Damage

The main reason I am looking at this is I16 coming out with the ability to set mission manning to 8 even if I am just soloing it. With that many mobs I really need to max out both AoE control and damage, and Thorntrops with a few procs in it, seems to be the way to go.
  7. My son deleted one of my characters. Is there any way to get my character back?
  8. I have my Plant/Thorns Dom up to level 41 and have hit permdom status. For the next two levels I plan on slotting up Roots to increase my AoE control/Damage.

I really want to max this out for I16 when I can greatly increase the number of spawns on a mission.

What are the best IO "Chance for" to add into the Roots power?
