Ok, I have the second to last mission in the World Wide Red story arc, I'm pretty sure.
I expect that once I finish this mission, it will change to a timed 90minute one which will be a defeat all in area, said area containing a Kronos Titan, for which all in the team will receive the Mater of Olympus badge for defeating.
Finishing this mission by failing or succeeding in defeating everyone will complete my story arc, personally, I would like to have it come through successfully, as the souvenir changes depending on the outcome.
I would be happy for the team to drop the Titan first, as I know the AV/GM changes might make it difficult and the badge is the priority. I would then ask for everyone to stay and clear the map, as I'm expecting a full team of 8 (with hopefully at least one Rad or Dark) and so the spawns will be a little large for me to clean up on my lonesome.
So please drop me a note here if you would be willing to help a guy complete his story arc, and pick up a badge in the process. I don't know where the mission would be, but I'll put minimum signup level to be 30, so long as we have enough SKs at 48+. I don't have any spaces reserved (see note below).
Thanks in advance for the help, and I hope everyone who wants it is able to pick up the badge.
Note: I'm quite willing to bring in as many people who want to come, we'll split the damage dealers onto multiple teams and everyone should get the badge so long as all the teams damage the Titan enough. We should be able to bring in as many teams as needed/want the badge. -
Has anyone done an exploratory run to see if the GM buffs have crazied-up hami and his mitos?
From being on a team taking down Jurassik earlier today, I don't see this raid going incredibly well...
Well, defiant has one up next week or the week after right? Maybe they will share their experiences since they will likely have a whack before this comes up.
Shrug. -
International Rescue isn't bad dude
So yah, I've been home sick today. Played Tech for a little while and made him a new cossie. Got Shrug to 14, so he's airbourne at last. Apart from that been sleeping off this cold/flu/whatever, sigh.
Gah I hate being sick.
Anyway I should be up for pretty much anything tonight. I don't think P will be around much, she has a bit of study to do tonight. Will see when she's in. So no rush with your little grav there Blade. Though I am looking forward to deleting Mourned, muahahaha.
I do like the name tho
Will be interested to see how dutch goes with his WS. I kinda doubt he'll like it, but we'll see. I think the best addition to our 3-grav team might have been a fire controller. They do good damage and with all the containment around... well, you've seen Hot Pants around
Think I might go see if I can find a team for bubble now.
Catch yas later. -
You know what's strange, I found that when creating an alt on Union, this would happen constantly. Like people sitting in atlas watching for new arrivals, or searching for people in outbreak and blind inviting them.
Bloody annoying.
Then the other week I created a toon on defiant with a mate. We got to level 10 with zero blind invites. Zilch. Once we had a tell from someone asking if we were after an SG, but no immediate follow up invite.
It was great, I was quite surprised, I thought that these blind invite people would exist on both servers, but it appears that I might have been wrong about that.
We created our own SG at 10, although we were tempted to just go on without it and see if we ever got a blind sg invite.
Strange huh?
Shrug. -
Our SG bought both arcane and tech empowerment stations.
Basically, because you can build any of the components with it, it's an easy way to make our tech ones for bigger things in the future from our tech empower station.
We have also bought the arcane version as basically a way to 'burn' arcane salvage. We don't need it, it's a hassle to find people who want to trade it for tech peices, and so we might as well use it for little buffs from time to time.
As long as my SG is happy with not using the tech version for actual buffs, this is probably how we're going to leave it. The other option is that I just make the tech version when I am going to refine some salvage, and then sell it off after, so there isn't even the temptation of using useful salvage up on it.

Don't tell me they asked for the exact number of hairs on the back of you right index finger and you miscounted?

No no, that part was fineJust my work experience. Needed 4 years, and from the sounds of it the references I sent in from my jobs were lacking detail as to my responsibilities. Whatever that means. I've asked my prior bosses to rewrite something for the next submission, sigh.
I've got 28 days to do a written response to them to ask that they recheck it. I'm going to write up a load of [censored] about how software companies are very flatly organised, and that the references did show enough since there wasn't much room to move without going to Project Manager (and just out of Uni? Yah, not a good chance of that happening). If I can convince them of that then I won't need to waste any more squids. Will try to point out the parts of the references that refer to the stuff they are after, in a round about way. Hopefully can pull it off. Sigh.
If that takes ages and fails I might not be able to resubmit even, I only have about a month and a half before that specific visa window closes up for me and I have to go for another type, which would suck as this is the best one to get.
No biggie, will work something out. I don't mind going back to New Zealand overly. It's just so faaar away
As for Dutchy, will talk to you tonight about toons matey, see what might work well with oursAm really thinking controller, since we'll all have containment all over the show, the damage would be pretty massive, heh. Would need to be a damaging holder, maybe Earth/something. Illusion isn't great at all with damage, and it's mass hold does zilch of it, which is something that we'd like to go with our mass immobs.
Oooh, maybe a fire blaster, lots of AoEs
Catch yas in a little while. I'm 99% sure we'll lose Dutch to I7 tonight anyway

who was taking care of the mitos after the PA team came down?
[/ QUOTE ]
No one.
I asked to stop the PA drop after a while and see if the turtle could stand their aggro and the healing blanket was so tick that it was impossible for Mitos to kill anyone in the radius of Transference
[/ QUOTE ]
Eeeexcellent, that was what I thought had happened
So was my view of what went on pretty much right then J? Or did I miss something out?
I'm pretty darn sure that the blanket and debuffs were up so quickly that we really only needed the one PA drop after they were in there before coming in ourselves.
Might be interesting to know just how many kins would be considered the minimum for the healing blanket.
Gah, am all raring to go now. Damn I wish I'd gone Ill/Rad instead of Ill/Emp sometimes. Ah well, I'm levelling a Grav/Rad on Defiant, should be useful
See yas there. -

Every couple of months is too long jimho

Yah that's what a few of us think too, but we're also not leadery enough to organise anything of our own
I enjoy Hami raids. I've been to all bar one raid, as far as I know, since the first successful takedown by Chaplain and his gang.
The last method I think worked so well that we should be able to do it in such a short time. I remember hearing that hami wasn't shooting anything for a long time before the call came down to knock him out.
I could lead the phantom army droppers, if you need. I'd prefer someone like Stagefright to do it though, he's had experience and knows what's going really well.
From what I saw from my vantage point at the last raid (above the jello), after the few occassions where flying in teams were wiped before we started properly was: PAs dropping + gathering aggro. Taunt team flying in with group flyer, doing their thing with hami. Group flying groups of Rad and Kin controllers and defenders dropping into the middle of everything right next to hami. Kins spamming heals off hami, rads debuffing hami and AMing like mad. A couple of dark defenders for picking up large groups of corpses if there was a bit of a wipe. A bubbler or 3 for hold protection. Controllers spamming holds, PA team stops dropping, waits for pets to leave, then drop down to join holding. Team leaders come down to hit hami while the holds are being spammed. Wait for word from taunter for no damage. Blasters come in and go nuts. Server tries it's best not to blow a fuse.
That was what I saw, I may have missed some of the nuances, like who was taking care of the mitos after the PA team came down? I'm pretty sure that we just ignored them, we had so much green going off that only the odd person died after we joined the holders.
Then hami dies, and the mitos vanish with him, which was very nice, and everyone was happy.
Look forward to it.
Maybe someone *cough*stalky*cough* could organise something a little sooner for us hami-maniacs (gotta catch em all).

Edited for amusement
I tend to use things like Gravtroller all the time: Bubfender, Kintroller, Illtroller. Usually just Defenders or Controllers though.
Shrug.
Got my visa application back this morning. Refused.
Bugger.
Am resubmitting, apparently the problem was that my evidence wasn't thorough enough, sigh. There goes another 315 squids down the toilet -
Blade has rolled a Grav/Kin, and I've made a little one to join him to try to get him to the same level as our other Gravtrollers
. His name is Mourned, and he shall not be discussed and will be deleted when no longer useful.
So soon we should have a Grav/Rad, Grav/Emp, and Grav/Kin set
How do you feel about Grav/FF or Grav/Sonic then dutch? lol. If you roll something up tomorrow you can join our push to get little Newtonium (Blade's grav) up. I'm putting a bit of xp on Mourned to make it easier to move ya's up a bit.
Still if you wanna make anything and get in, would be cool. Not sure how often or long we plan to play these, might just be a phase. They're 11s now.
Anyway am bloody tired. Catch yas tomorrow most likely -
[ QUOTE ]
Having said that those Grav controllers you and P made looks like they can hold there own, my scrapper felt invincible with you guys there as well and perhaps a bit of a third wheel.
[/ QUOTE ]
Tell ya what dude, I really couldn't believe how good they seemed. My little Grav/Rad controller (Gravimetric for those following - on Defiant) was mighty damagy, and the holds just seemed miles above anything I have with Skull. Pick up a +1 boss pretty easily, recharges faster, and much cooler effect. Propel! Wow, I'm glad we picked that up! Mighty power.
The fact that the Singularity (pet) of grav does the same gravity moves as us (crush, lift, hold, etc, not propel i think, not sure what exactly) makes it a mean pet too. Much more interesting than Skulls Phantasm, which only does mediocre damageand that's all. The extra hold power of a Singularity will just kick [censored]. Will see. Might not even get him that far
Preferred he was on Union, but ah well -
Indeedily, Happy Birthday Blappy
Also enjoyed the Shadow Shard 2 TF we did on Saturday, that gives Tech a full set of Shadow Shard TF badges, heh, and the only one from that tab he's missing in the Sewer Trial. Unfortunately it's a real [censored] to do, and might need to see if we can pull Blace Lace in for it (level 41) since only 39-41/42s get to use the weapons vs the hydra, but we can sk to one of our 50s and give it a go?
Always up for the other Shard TFs, can bring Skull or Tech, to help people get their badges for them too, and for the experiences.
Red/Black Lace came on last night as Chick for a spell, which was good. I had brought on Dark Bubble and got immediately pulled into a group of 27s who were up against level 29/30s
. Brought in Chick (@23) and the team motored over the mobs, was very nice. Both of us picked up another level from it too, which was good. I'm quite happy with Dark Bubble in terms of defence. It seems that his bubbles and leadership buffs are pretty mint. I wish he was Forcefield/Dark. I mean that would do +def to team, and -acc to baddies. How sweet would that be? It would also mean that his name made a little sense
Blade I don't know how come your Pick Ups are such downers. Shrug. Maybe I just get lucky more often. Hmm.
And yah, I find that statement funny on many levels
Oh, we started an Ascended SG on defiant too, overflow from our accounts. Currently holds 7 members I think. I don't mind deleting it and making one with a more interesting name, by the way
Someone come up with a new name if they want
Plans tonight?
Still need to rock through a Manticore for Red Earth, Miss Mindreader, and Dutch Barbarian. Probably not good over the week, need to pull something out on the weekend.
Anyway, thats enough of a post from me!
Catch yas. -
I'm liking the idea of a shadow shard TF on saturday now. Just thinking, we've got like 11 50s in the SG, right? Maybe 10. Anyway, more than enough to get it off the ground (though a couple of us have a couple of them).
Any idea how long Shadow Shard 2 takes? I'm thinking between 4-6hours. I'm hoping shorter, but I don't have any idea really.
Might be able to get:
Tech Tower
Puma
Dutch Barbarian
Death Kiss
J Dogg
CGRAV
Red/Black Lace
Bleach
That would be a mint team. 2xTanks (or 1 tank, 1 warshade), Empath Defender, Kinetics Defender, 4xScrappers
I don't think Bleach brings on Bleach very often though. I'll have a word with him if I get a chance and see if he's keen to come on a bit more. He defiants a lot now, but has a few alts in our SG.
Anyway, will talk to yas about it later tonight.

That was fun with the hunters last night guys. My new install seems to be running real nice
Sorry I had to bail so early though, I would have been up for more but had to eat and had to do other stuff, still didnt progress much on the burning front though.
Tonight everyone is scattered out I think. I'm 3vPing, so is J Dogg, think it starts around 7pm and goes till late. Dutch and Ashen have their in character team up, not sure if you joined that Blade? I think Puma is homeworking.
Hmm, hopefully have a chance to get some dinner too. Ah well, a later one tonight I guess. That's one of the problems about heading to Sweden for a holiday, I get used to eating every day
Might not make the Hunters lineup next week. Like I mentioned I think I'll be in the movies, not knowing till closer. Maybe we could pick them up over the weekend anyway.
Talking about the weekend, anyone got plans? I'm still keen on a TF Sunday Afternoon, around 1pm UK time, if people can make it. No plans for Saturday yet though. Maybe do an impromptu Shadow Shard 2 TF
Catch yas this evening. I'll be on TS from around 7 I think. -
Lucky bugger, only guys in my office. Seriously, unfun.
-
Nice try dude, but probably not something playable on these boards without getting our SG thread locked and/or removed
And that would be bad.
Work is incredi-boring today. I just wanna go back to my miserable little room and get some sleeeep. I was up very late and very early getting my PC into a usable shape last night/this morning.
Sigh. -
Should defo be space for ya if we TF over the weekend J Dogg dude.
Cool enjoy the movie!
Basically the hunters is an SG on defiant villains, all have a dark powerset (mostly /dark corrupters - fantastic!), all have matching (pretty much) outfits (the first one at least, for SG teaming), and all are named '<greek letter> Hunter', or Huntress, for the girls. I think we all just so happen to be natural also, though the girls might be going for science... Not sure now. I, for example, am Alpha Hunter, Dutch is Omega, Blade is Gamma, there are about a dozen of us at the moment, max level of 15 I think.
We don't really discuss it here since it is a defiant group. If we open it up more we might start a thread on defiant villains to chat about them
We also allow /dark masterminds, or dark/ or /dark brutes, or dark/ corrupters, that kind of thing. It's a shame there is no dark dominator set though. Shrug.
If you're keen, I can PM you the SG Costume, and you can pick a greek letter and roll a hunter of your own to come along. I've got it in my email somewhere. I think the hunter names that are taken are: Alpha, Delta, Gamma, Omega, Omikron. I'm sure you won't need to worry about the huntress versions. I feel like I've forgotten one. It's been a little while since we really took them out. We've basically organised Wednesday nights to be Hunter night
I'm 99% sure anyone is free to join. If I had more time to dedicate to running the SG, I'd start the thread now on defiant, with the SG cossie specifications, and let them roll in. Maybe one of the co-leaders might want to spend more time on villains, or maybe another trusted soul would like to push the drive. Shrug.
Anyway, that'll be the biggest speil about the hunters in this thread. If someone will run it, we can discuss away on defiant villains
I'll only be on from 7-8, need to get my stuff done. You other hunters don't need to quit when I do though

Ok so I spent forever throwing hard drives at my PC last night, and eventually one of them got jammed in the correct way.
Unfortunately it seems all the throwing of hard drives may have corrupted my old disk, which has a good 180ish gig of 'stuff', including all my pics since I ventured to the UK. A lot of disk checks later and it seeeems that everything is there. I copied CoH off it, and it was well and truly rogered, so it spent all night rebuilding, couldn't be bothered reinstalling it.
So I will be there for the hunters, 7pm UK time. I still have loads to do on the PC though to get it to the standard of my previous set up, and haven't installed google chat or teamspeak (server or client) yet either, though that shouldn't take long. I need to do a lot of moving stuff around, and burning off to DVD as backups in case of another failure, which, if permanent, would really break me, so I might make it a shortish session.
I'm glad your sketch came through ok DutchyWasn't sure if it would be ok. I sent it the same day I sent the Andrew Wildman signed Transformers comic book to Blade. He got it about a week ago, though the differences in distance are pretty vast
Anyways, see yas later this evening. -

Capped at 40? nuts, gonna miss SS

Unfortunately, I think it's because of the cap on Villains. Taken from the official 3vP thread:
[ QUOTE ]
5. Matches will be played as Ranked Custom Team events in the Arena at the Cruiserweight (38-40) weight class.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sigh. I wonder what other powers I lose. Conserve Power, Power Boost (really gonna miss this), Energy Blast, and.... hrm.
Hopefully it's something not that useful...
Shrug. -
Cool, give Trig a virtual punch in the arm and tell him to get his subscription back up, we've stalled a bit since we want to keep everyone around the same levels, and he's flagging a bit.
Shhh about the lack of social calendar. Everyone is supposed to be busy Friday nights, that's what seperates us from the geeks who aren't
. I thought you had plans to go to X-Men 3 anyway... Wait, or is that the geek-out option. Shrug.
Dutch, I'll try to pick up a timecard on my way home. Not exactly sure where there will be a Game or something on the way though. Maybe Oxford St, or Tottenham Court... Hmm. Maybe I'll ask Blademan to do it, he's off today (seeing X3 actually, lol), and might have a better chance. Will see.
Anyway, my thursday has been cancelled, 3vP starts, and we have 2 rounds of PvP to go through that night, with no idea how long it will take or when it will be done. Shouldn't be overly bad though. We'll seeWish me luck
K, will catch most of yas online tonight I guess.

The Ernesto Hess TF, an unlockable TF in Striga Isle, given to people who complete the last striga contact. The levels are 25-30, I believe, perhaps 24-30 or something, and you get the Burkholders Bane badge if you complete it.
It is widely acknowledged to be one of, if not the best TFs in City of Heroes. And there are some great things that you won't see anywhere else in the game, though I'll not mention them here.
Main enemies are Council. Not sure but possibly only enemies on the TF (not counting Ascendants, who are council-ish). Mostly council robots.
Fun fun. I'd do it, but I need to see if my SG has plans tonight first.
Shrug. -
Looks like you're up against Skull with Gutts there in the second round Maxi, should be interesting.
Pity we're fighting capped at level 40, them Epics would be mint. Ah well, Skull is very much not built for PvP, but should be interesting, heh.
See yas there! -
This thread might help.
Someone was basically asking the same question about tankers and playstyles.
Shrug. -
Inv/Axe should suit your concept quite well, I think, and both are great sets, in my opinion.
As for Inv being bland, I'm not sure where you came up with that from. I've seen invulnerability on an older PC which couldn't really handle the graphics overly well, and there it did come up quite un-shiny. On a nice new PC with big graphics up, Inv is as shiny as a disco ball.
If a disco ball is what you're after.
If you want to see Tech Tower with all his shields on, give me a yell later tonight in game. I'm sure there are loads of Invulns around that would give you a demo.
Shrug. -
Whoa, Hong Kong Fooey and a fellow New Zealander!
I have a level 50 ill/emp controller. It always amuses me when people tell me to stop with the illusion stuff and just heal.
After Mr Psychic Babbage hands the team their rears a few times, I step in and show them WHY I should use my primary more.
Skull Bender was my first 50. He was in a great group levelling with an inv/ss tanker and dark/inv scrapper, amongst others. I could never figure out why everyone was so glad to see me whenever I brought him online. To me, he was just a healer, leeching most of his xp. I really didn't like him very much.
After levelling my inv/axe tanker, I now understand.
I used to use the Empathy as my 'in' on teams, not realising that both of my sets were so powerful, but using everything I had anyway. Now I get it.
Defenders, however... confuse me. I have a level 27 bubble/energy defender, he's neat and all, but has a total of 2 of his energy set powers. I'll pick up Nova, but I can't think of anything else I want from the set (haven't looked really). I guess that's why I'm addicted to controllers, they just seem to be the best at all-round stuff.
Shrug.
