  1. Ok with the servers going down I decided to have a look through all the possible proliferation options there are. I think I got them all. Personally I would like to see them all and have done a little note next to each with potential problems:

    Blaster
    • Earth Manipulation – based on Earth Assault for dominators. Melee attacks, Mud Pots, Power Boost etc
    • Martial Arts/Body Manipulation – the much asked for set! I see it as a Martial Arts and Energy Manipulation clone
    • Thorn Manipulation – based on Thorny Assault. Problem is no blast equivalent to proliferate
    • Dark Blast – as per Corruptor/Defender. Although some argue there should be a build up power there. EDIT - thanks for Claws for pointing out that Night Fall and Soul Tenticles (aka Tenebrous Tenticles) will be need to be replaced as they are in Soul Mastery
    • Dark Manipulation – A possible hybrid of Dark Melee attacks, Dark Armour Damage Aura and Dark Miasma controls?
    • Earth Blast – most difficult IMO as no equivalent. Stone Spears, Hurl Bolder, Build Up, Propel Rocks (as per Legacy Chain), an AoE version of Stone Spears (same animation as Stalagmites?)

    Corruptor
    • Force Field – unsure why they don’t have this apart from the no debuffs argument
    • Poison – will need a substitute for the target pet power, maybe make it target ally?
    • Psychic Blast – unsure whether it will be based on the Defender or Blaster set
    • Empathy – Pain Dom was meant to be it equivalent, however with GR there can be ‘bad’ empaths

    Defender
    • Thermal Radiation – see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Fire Blast – see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Poison – as per corruptor
    • Pain Domination – as per Empathy for corruptors but reversed

    Dominator
    • Dark Assault – based on Dark Blast and Dark Melee with the damage aura from Dark Armour thrown in?
    • Dark Control – possibly difficult to do due to the which powers from Dark Miasma are included and if new powers need adding
    • Illusion Control – lots of arguments for and against this. Phantom Army and Spectral Terror could need balancing so not to overpowered?
    • Body Assault – Martial Arts with Shurikens?

    Controller
    • Dark Miasma – as per Dark Control for Dominators and balancing Dark Servant (give it MM recharge time?)
    • Dark Control – as per Dark Control for Dominators
    • Poison – as per Poison for Corruptors
    • Traps – it has been argued it may be overpowered? Balance with recharge times?
    • Pain Domination – As per Empathy for Corruptors but reversed

    Scrapper
    • Battle Axe - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Energy Melee - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Stone Melee - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Super Strength – Rage possibly overpowered?
    • War Mace - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Ice Melee - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Energy Aura – will need substitute for Conserve Power as AT has it in their APP
    • Stone Armour – Would Rooted and Granite make the Scrapper to slow? However, Brutes do get it
    • Ninjitsu – would need to replace Hide
    • Ice Armour- will need a substitute for Hibernate as AT has it in their PPP

    Brutes
    • Broadsword – possibly need to adjust Parry so it isn’t as easy to maintain softcap? Longer recharge and shorter duration perhaps?
    • Katana – same as Broadsword except with Divine Avalanche
    • Martial Arts - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Spines – possible arguments re: fury generation due to –recharge, however AT already has Stone Melee/War Mace (stuns) and Dark Armour (stuns) so shouldn’t be a problem
    • Ice Melee – as per Spines
    • Regeneration – no experience of the set so no idea how it would work
    • Ninjitsu – as per Spines (due to placate and confuse effects). Possibly replace Smoke Flash? Also need to replace Hide
    • Ice Armour- as per Spines

    Tanker
    • Broadsword – as per Brutes
    • Katana – as per Brutes
    • Matial Arts - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Spines - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Claws - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Regeneration – no experience of the set so no idea how it would work
    • Ninjitsu – possibly need to replace Smoke Flash as counter intuitive to Tanking? Also will need to replace Hide
    • Energy Aura - will need substitute for Conserve Power as AT has it in their APP, possibly agro aura?
    • Super Reflexes – no experience of the set however Brutes get it - EDIT: thanks to Computer for letting me know that Brutes evasion has a taunt aspect

    Stalker
    • Battle Axe - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Fiery Melee - see no reason why it hasn’t been, would get Scrapper/Brute version not Tankers. EDIT - as Leo G helped me remember, Electric Melee is AoE centric so Fiery Melee could be to (drop Combustion, keep Fire Sword Circle and Breath of Fire)
    • Ice Melee - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • War Mace - see no reason why it hasn’t been
    • Super Strength - see no reason why it hasn’t been, although have a hard time imagining a concept of a Super Strength Stalker (but that’s just me!)
    • Fiery Aura – lots of previous comments on how do you hide a Fireball, but have read arguments about being shrouded in smoke. Replace Blazing Aura for hide?
    • Ice Armour - see no reason why it hasn’t been, Chilling Embrace to suppress when hidden. Replace Icicles for hide. Will need a substitute for Hibernate as it is available in PPP
    • Shield Defence – wasn’t given to Stalkers originally due to ally centric nature of set (Grant Cover, Phalanx Fighting), however Stalkers get critical bonus out of hide due to nearby teammates so don’t feel this should be an issue. Grant Cover, Phalanx Fighting, AAO all suppress while hidden? Replace True Grit for hidden?
    • Stone Armour - see no reason why it hasn’t been. Replace Mud Pots with Hide? Make Granite and Hide mutually exclusive?

    Mastermind
    • Cold Domination - see no reason why it hasn’t been, possibly overpowered?
    • Kinetics – possibly overpowered?
    • Empathy – as per Empathy for Corruptors
    • Radiation Emission – possibly overpowered?
    • Sonic Resonance - see no reason why it hasn’t been

    Oh I agree with you there Fleeting, my laptop which I described above falls into that category. It isn't the best portible laptop if I was walking around with it all day. In fact I am planning of getting a cheap Notebook for that purpose.

    However, people travelling on business/extended periods where the laptop can be stored away in a luggage bag it isn't a problem. I don't travel on business but if I do go away for a while for whatever reason, I pack the laptop up and put in my suit case and don't have any problems.

    As for having it on my lap, I do play with it on my lap on occasion and don't have any particular issues.
  4. Calling all Tanker fans!

    Some of you may remember I tried to get the Tanker Tuesday event (which they run in the US) going on the EU servers before the merge. Unfortunately, due to a mixture of not much interest and some RL issues meaning my organisation wasn't that great, they didn't really take off.

    ANYWAY - now that the server lists are merged the Tanker Tuesday team want to try and bring back the Tanker Tuesdays to the EU servers. However there was one small hitch, the time difference!

    With a big 5-7hr time difference we came to the decision to try and run it on a weekdend as a once a month special event as it will allow as many people as possible to take part! So without further ado let me announce the first...

    International Tanker Tour

    This will be taking place this Saturday (28th May 2011) and will start 8pm BST (9pm CET, Noon PDT, 3pm Eastern) on the Defiant server. Meeting place is in Kings Row at the IP gate.

    An all Tanker AT event, all levels are welcome and depending on who attends we will decide what we get up to on the day/night! Whether that be a TF (or two!), a levelling team, a Tips team etc

    Due to a bit of insomnia I managed to take part in the Tanker Tuesday on Victory the other day and it was good fun

    Grab your tank or roll a new one and come and join us.

    Oh you're more than probably right but there are all the choices of which NPCs they use (just thinking about all the different Longbow Wardens available, which would they pick) so it is remotely balanced would still be a bit of a task.
  6. Im very happy with this half an issue.

    Yes there is one or two things I would have done differently. Ive been neutral about gated cossie parts, I don't mind them being in the game but wouldn't complain at all if they weren't either. AoE buffs (with no endurance increase!!!) are good for the most part, but you do get people who do not wish to be buffed so managing that will become more difficult.

    But overall when I read the Overview page I was so happy with everything that was announced.

    Oh and the new law pets? WOW! The devs really pulled the stops out to get ALL those ready for half issue
  7. I would like Energy Aura for tankers because I have a concept for a toon and it doesn't really work with any other Armour Set. I've never really been bothered whether it would be subpar or not, as long as its fun.

    Plus if anything was changed in the port to tankers it will be Conserve Power as Tankers get it in their Energy Mastery APP. If I were the devs that would be changed into an agro aura and bought to the beginning of the set.
  8. I play CoH on a Aspire 8942G Widescreen Laptop

    It has Intel Core 720QM processor, 6gb memory and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850. The screen is 18.4" with which I run resolution 1920x1080.

    I play the game in full screen mode at 1920x1080 resolution with ultramode running with everything running at high quality (with Shadow Quality Set to High).

    I very rarely have any problems, although the laptop can run a bit hot (I have purchased a cooling tray to help with that).

    When I have run the odd trial (not a big fan of them) I generally turn each of the settings down one so everything runs a bit more smoothly.

    I generally have played CoH on laptops since I started playing. I generally don't have room for a desktop in my flat so have always invested in laptops that have a decent spec.

    Possibly the Devs see it better that a rain power will only affect one person than it being rediculously overpowered and affecting all in its AoE each tick

  11. This is something I quickly put together with the idea of total lockdown in mind.

    It has a little recharge, a little defence and powers proc'd to increase holds and immobilises without slotting for any damage. Singie is slotted for accuracy, hold and immob only. And I chose the epic where you can boost your hold durations and defences for a short time (Power Boost) as well as not choosing any attack powers.

    Wasn't sure re: your choice of travel power so went with Hover/Fly because of the whole gravity thing.

    I did put in Dimensional Shift because it is (in my mind) a perfect power for a pacificist. The foes can't attack you and your allies can't attack them. In game it is, at best, a bit of panic button for an unexpected team wipe or ambush

  12. Energy Aura/Energy Melee Tank - concept reasons a brute doesn't really work

    Shield/Broadsword Tank - mainly because I don't like my Scrapper version that much

    * BIG FAT STINKING THEORY ALERT *

    My other half suggested to me that the Ganger Doctor is the one that was shot. I wasn't overly convinced at the time however there are somethings that kind of fit into place if you think about them:
    * Either Moffat is planning on killing off the Doctor or retconning the universe again we need some stand in for the Doctor to be killed

    * We see at the beginning of episode 1 a few things the doctor has gotten up to (the tunnel, the hiding under the skirt, featuring in the old TV show) - what if that isn't the original Doctor but actually the Ganger Doctor who got displaced in time to some 200 years before the day the Doctor gets shot and those shots are of the Ganger Doctor just living his life. We don't know how the Gangers age so its a possibility.

    * The above could be a possibility because at the beginning of the first episode the Doctor that is shot does not arrive via Tardis, the Tardis is not mentioned and the Doctor is lying on a car.

    * They say that River Song kills a good man. This heavily screams the Doctor but what if it is actually the Ganger Doctor that River Song either gets in the suit and kills or sets up to be killed? The original Doctor would probably see the Ganger Doctor as a good man and we know River is willing to kill, so with the whole Timey Wimey stuff a future River Song could set up the Ganger Doctor to die to save her Doctor. However, this doesn't take into account the diary swapping stuff they talk about...

    * On top of this we know Moffat is a huge continuity and interlaced plot man. He has already brought in the crash of the Byzantium mentioned in the Library episode, River says the first time the Doctor meets her will be her last and in the episode Time of Angels and Flesh of Stone there is a scene where Amy (unable to open her eyes) is sat in a clearing, the Doctor and River are about to carry on without her and there is a cut back scene of the Doctor telling Amy to remember him which is used in the final episode. But more importantly in that scene you only see the Doctor's sleeve and hand, and if you look you can see the Doctor is wearing his Jacket. However the Doctor of that time had lost his jacket so you can tell at that point that it is actually a different Doctor but the continuity of that scene is kept!

    Anyway - thats my big fat stinking theory of it all

    Prime time for the Euro servers tends to hit about 7.30pm onwards. If you wanted you could easily do from about 1pm PDT which would be about 9pm BST and everything will still be busy. Just in case people didn't want to do an early start for an event.

    Oh no the global is fine (@TiredAngel2) - its the actual account name I use to log into the game with has has changed not the global because that matches the trial account.

    Although my second account name was changed because it clashed with my own old US trial account which has been inactive for ages
  21. Does the reactivation cover Trial accounts?? I have a very old US trial account (originally EU player here) which I want to delete some characters on but it is still being listed as inactive?

    With the server list merge due today I would love to try and join you guys for either Freedom or Triumph (Im away the 24th).

    Just wondering though - what time is 6pm PT in British Summer Time (BST). I am never any good at figuring this out :S
  24. I thought it was a fun episode, not the greatest but not really the worse either.

    There were some definite plot holes and the disapearing pirate was a big whoops moment.

    Apart from that seeing Amy Pond sword fight made me laugh along with some good jokes so Im happy

    A couple of my fav quotes:
